Yangzhou | After the snow, the Daming Temple is as stunning as a fairyland at a glance

Everyone says that the fireworks in March go down to Yangzhou, but although the spring flowers are there every year, the spring snow is a rare encounter! Fortunately, at the end of February, I witnessed the snow flying all over the sky in Yangzhou, and the Daming Temple after the snow was as beautiful as a fairyland on earth. ▪️ Pingshan Hall: The highest point of Yangzhou, built by Ouyang Xiu when he served as the prefect of Yangzhou. It is called 'Pingshan Hall' because when leaning on the railing, the mountains of the south of the Yangtze River are all at eye level. Now is the perfect time to come as the plum blossoms are in full bloom, and the plum blossoms after the snow are extremely delicate and beautiful! ▪️ Ouyang Shrine: It is a part of Pingshan Hall, built to commemorate Ouyang Xiu. Inside there is a portrait of Ouyang Xiu that looks kindly at us from any angle, very worth appreciating. ▪️ Qiling Pagoda: A 9-story high tower, originally built during the Sui Dynasty, rebuilt in the 1990s. The seventh and eighth floors are open to the public, with an elevator going directly to the seventh floor, from which you can overlook the Slender West Lake and the old city area of Yangzhou, with an unbeatable view! The eighth floor enshrines the Buddhist relics of Sakyamuni, which is also the only place in the country where the Buddhist relics are open to the public for viewing. ▪️ Jianzhen Memorial Hall: Master Jianzhen was the abbot of Daming Temple before he went to Japan. The Jianzhen Memorial Hall was designed and built by Mr. Liang Sicheng in the style of the Tang Dynasty Todai-ji Temple in Nara, Japan, and also has profound significance in architecture! ▪️ Daxiong Baodian: It is actually the main hall when entering the Daming Temple. It is said to be very efficacious, so the incense is also very strong, and there are Dharma services on major days like the fifteenth day of the New Year. 👣 Surroundings: Not far from Daming Temple, I highly recommend going to Guanyin Mountain for a visit.
