Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park

Zhangjiajie Tianmen Mountain is the highest mountain in Yongding District of Zhangjiajie, named after the natural wonder Tianmen Cave, and is the earliest recorded famous mountain, historically known as Yunmeng Mountain and Songliang Mountain. The mountaintop is relatively flat and preserves a complete primitive secondary forest, with many extremely precious and unique plant species, and a forest coverage rate of 90%. Ancient trees reach for the sky, vines entwine, moss spreads everywhere, and stone stalagmites and stone buds can be found at every step, creating natural bonsai landscapes everywhere, earning it the reputation of 'the most beautiful aerial garden in the world' and a 'heavenly fairyland'. In the sixth year of Yong'an of the Wu Kingdom during the Three Kingdoms period (263 AD), Songliang Mountain suddenly opened a cliff hole, profound and door-like, forming the rare world wonder of Tianmen Cave to this day. The cave runs north to south, with a height of 131.5 meters, a width of 57 meters, and a depth of 60 meters, towering and touching the sky, resembling a gateway to heaven, hence the name Tianmen Mountain. Tianmen Mountain, with its lofty and perilous beauty, has always been a place of admiration for celebrities and officials, with a very profound cultural heritage, making it the cultural holy land of Zhangjiajie, revered as the 'Soul of Zhangjiajie', and known as the 'Number One Divine Mountain in Western Hunan'.
