Hezhou Must-Visit Attractions - Huangyao Ancient Town

Huangyao Ancient Town, truly every scene is a painting. Huangyao Ancient Town is located in the northeastern part of Zhaoping County, Hezhou, Guangxi, 40 kilometers away from Hezhou city center and 200 kilometers from Guilin. The area of Huangyao Ancient Town is 3.6 square kilometers, characterized by karst topography. It originated during the Song Dynasty, with a history of nearly 1000 years. The natural landscape includes eight major and twenty-four minor scenic spots; there are more than 20 temples and shrines, and over 10 pavilions and towers, most of which are Ming and Qing Dynasty architecture. Famous attractions include the old site of the Guangxi Provincial Committee, the ancient stage, Anle Temple, Baozhu View, Xingning Temple, Guo Family Shrine, Dailong Bridge, Natural Pavilion, etc. The town is named 'Huangyao' because it is predominantly inhabited by people with the surnames Huang and Yao. The town's roads are paved with bluestone slabs, and occasionally you will encounter some grandmothers selling local specialties and snacks, such as fried small fish and shrimp crabs, as well as fermented bamboo shoots, all of which are very characteristic. There are also several coffee shops and guesthouses on the street with a very nice environment. In the evening, when staying in the city area, be sure to try the beef intestine sour soup and steamed beef blood at Niu Hong Pavilion. The steamed beef blood is smooth, tender, and fragrant, melting in your mouth. After eating, take a walk to the pedestrian street and have a cup of Mafeng Liangfen, and you can also try the local special sour wild fruits, really amazing!
