Yume no Tsuribashi suspension bridge Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
once in a lifetime
Yume no Tsuribashi Bridge (Dream Suspension Bridge) is in an area called Sumatakyo Hot Springs in Kawanehon. The bridge is 90 meters long and extends over the Oma Dam Lake.
From the right side of the bridge, visitors can take in the beautiful scenery of the emerald green lake surrounded by mountains. The view from the bridge of the lovely valley surrounded by nature is a one-of-a-kind experience.
The best season to visit is the summer, with its lush green, or in autumn to see the foliage. It can become crowded during those times and there may be some waiting time to cross the bridge.
Address: Kawanehon, Haibara District, Shizuoka 428-0402, Japan
Open daily: 0700-1700
How to get there: To get to the Yume no Tsuribashi Bridge, board a bus from Senzu Station and get off at the last stop, Sumatakyo Onsen. The bus stop is right outside of Senzu Station.
After riding for about 40 minutes, you will arrive at Sumatakyo Onsen. From the bus stop, you will have to walk about 30 minutes to get to the bridge.

Shizuoka's Hidden Gem! The Dream Suspension Bridge of Sumata Gorge.
In the remote mountains of Shizuoka, there lies a dreamlike suspension bridge.
The suspension bridge, set above an emerald green lake, is truly a breathtaking sight!
Located deep in the mountains along a narrow path, it's quite a challenge to reach.
During the autumn foliage season, when the mountains are ablaze with color, the view is so stunning that it's worth the effort to visit.
Please consider making a trip there this upcoming fall 🎵

The bridge of dreams
The Sumata Gorge is one of the most scenic spots in Shizuoka prefecture. It is said to be the last secluded region of the Oigawa River.
This is the Yume no Tsuribashi that symbolizes the Sumata Gorge. Under the suspension bridge, a dam lake formed in the "Oma Dam" of the Sumata River, a tributary river of the Oigawa River, spreads out. The water looks blue due to a physical phenomenon called "Tyndall effect," in which only blue light with short wavelengths is reflected in places with beautiful water quality. Depending on the weather and sunlight, you can see the beautiful emerald green or cobalt blue surface of the lake. If you go further upstream to the Hiryu Bridge, you can look down on the Yume no Tsuribashi suspension bridge below.
In 2024, I want to go to this place again.

Dream: a sweet escape from a bitter reality
Drove a long and winding road just to reach this renowned spot for dreamers and wishers alike. It said that if you get to cross this successfully, utter a wish when you’re halfway through, then you’ll wish will come true. I don’t think it’s the case for me though. Anyway, twas sure as fun and nerve wracking . Work on your dreams though and make it into a tangible reality. #awesomepic #mytripvlog #2023travelwish

Sumata Pass Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
The secret station floating on the lake & meeting the Tiffany blue everywhere.
Discovering that there are really many places around Japan that are suitable for weekend check-ins, full of mystery and fantasy.
① Odai-Ikejiri Station:
Shimobe, Kawanehon-cho, Haibara-gun, Shizuoka Prefecture.
This spot offers a panoramic view of the hidden station! The station is built on a dammed lake and looks like it's floating on water from afar, it's super dreamy! It's said to be the only operating cog railway in Japan.
②Dream Suspension Bridge:
Shizuoka Prefecture, Haruno District, Kawanehon-cho, Chito.
At the entrance of the Dream Suspension Bridge trail in Cunyouxia Hot Spring Town, you will pass through an abandoned tunnel and walk for 10 minutes to get there. The surrounding mountains and forests, along with the reflection on the water, create a beautiful emerald green scenery. It is said that if you make a wish in the middle of the bridge, it will come true.
【Shizuoka Prefecture】Camping ⛺️ | BBQ | Family | Sunrise 🌄
Camping - Recommended places for family camping
🔅Name: Mobility Park
🔅Address: 1445-481 Chojahara, Izu-no-kuni City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, Auto Campsite Ito City, Shizuoka Prefecture
🔅Travel time: About 2 and a half hours from departure in Tokyo city.
(When we went with my nephew and family, we got stuck in traffic on the highway and it took nearly 4 hours to reach our destination. The Tomei Expressway is prone to traffic jams, so it's always a good idea to leave early.)
Advantages 🌟 Highlights Features:
1️⃣A comprehensive camping site with tent areas, cabins, villas, day trip BBQ, and RV areas.
2️⃣️One thing worth mentioning is the "Trailer Home DX" luxury RV area. This time we booked this area, which is suitable for 2-3 families or multiple people camping together.
3️⃣️The RV can accommodate up to 7 people, and there is a large grassy area outside the RV where you can set up a tent. A large tent with 1 bedroom and 1 living room can easily accommodate up to 4 people. In total, we can accommodate up to 11 people for camping at the same time.
4️⃣️The most important thing is that it can satisfy both those who want to stay in a tent overnight and those who are not used to it, achieving camping with both RVs and tents! (Among the friends who came with me this time, there was someone who could only stay indoors. We couldn't go camping together usually, but this place met our requirements.)
5️⃣️In addition, the RV is fully equipped with a toilet, bathroom, kitchen, and air conditioning. There are two separate rooms, one with a double bed and one with bunk beds, plus a sofa bed in the living room. It is also possible for two families to stay together without any problems, while still maintaining a certain level of privacy.
6️⃣The management building is equipped with a convenience store, toilets, vegetable washing area, shower rooms, equipment rental, and other facilities. It is suitable for novice camping and family camping. (There are not many types of rental equipment, so if you need it, you can inquire by phone in advance.)
7️⃣️There is a children's play area with slides, climbing frames, etc. There is a large lawn for activities, a pond for fishing (with fish), and swimming is possible in the summer.
Drawback 👎:
1️⃣It's a bit difficult to make a reservation. It's better to confirm the itinerary 1-2 months in advance.
Okay. The earliest you can make a reservation is three months in advance, and you can only make a reservation by phone.
2️⃣️The variety of goods in the small shop is not much, and there are no supermarkets or convenience stores nearby. It is said that there is a small supermarket about 15-20 minutes away. So prepare enough food before going. It is also best to bring enough toys for children.
✅Must experience:
🔥🔥Shizuoka's hidden beauty🔥🔥
Located in the northern part of Shizuoka Prefecture, not far from Tokyo, Cunyou Gorge is famous for its hot springs and Yumeno Suspension Bridge. Among them, the 90m-long "Yumeno Suspension Bridge" is listed as one of the world's top ten famous hiking suspension bridges.
The dreamlike place not only has a suspension bridge, but also a lake under the bridge that shines like an emerald. The suspension bridge can only accommodate up to 10 people at a time on one side.
Line 1: Go ahead.
Line 2: The suspension bridge is high and long, and it swings violently. If you have a fear of heights, think twice.
The hot springs nearby are famous for their "beauty bath". The single sulfur spring that spews out at the foot of the Southern Alps makes the skin smooth and delicate after soaking in the hot spring. In addition to the hot spring hotels, there are also town-run day trip outdoor baths.
Okuōikojō Station Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
A train station on a cliff!
Okuoikojo Station is a stop on the Oigawa Railway Line, which runs through Shizuoka Prefecture. The station is located in the middle of a stunning emerald green lake, and looks as if it is floating on it. The red bridge spanning across the lake tops off the dreamy scenery. The unstaffed station is the ideal spot for sightseeing via one of Japan’s most treasured railways, especially considering the other nature hotspots in the area.
The View of the Lake Around the Station Was Awarded the “Cool Japan Award 2019”.
In 2024, I want to go to Shizuoka again.

Okuōikojō Station Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Clouds and mist are all in the shape of loving you.
In mid-January 2023, I went to the Oku-Oi Lake Station in Shizuoka Prefecture.
🌟Highlight features:
This station is a bit special, as you can tell from its name. It is a station located on a small island in the middle of a lake.
At 9:30 in the morning, the mountain mist had not yet dispersed, cleverly forming a heart shape, which combined with the heart-shaped lake to create a scene of mutual love 💕. (See pictures 1 and 2)
🌟Highlight features:
Next to the waiting room at the station, there is an orange-backed chair with high sides and a low middle on the seat. When two people sit on the chair, they easily slide together. Haha, a little trick for young couples (see picture three).
Next to the chair is a wind chime. If we ring it together, we will be forever happy. (Image 4)
Finally, the lake surface is a little green, a little blue, really beautiful!! (Image 5)
