The West Wall 🇮🇱

An experience of a life time, Western Wall, Hebrew Ha-Kotel Ha-Maʿaravi, also called Wailing Wall, in the Old City of Jerusalem. A place of prayer and pilgrimage sacred to the Jewish people. It is the only remains of the retaining wall surrounding the Temple Mount, the site of the First and Second Temples of Jerusalem, held to be uniquely holy by the ancient Jews. It is the only remaining section of the protective wall of the Second Temple of the ancient Jewish state in the Old City of Jerusalem, Israel. The wall is divided into two parts with a barrier in the middle, separating men and women. 🌟For thousands of years, the Jewish people who have been scattered in various corners of the world return to the holy city of Jerusalem, and they will come to this stone wall to pray in a low voice and cry out the pain of exile, which is called the "Wailing Wall". 🌟Men entering the Wailing Wall must wear small hats, sit around a square table on a bench reciting scriptures, or stand solemnly facing the wall with a sheepskin bag wrapped around their hands in prayer. Most women bow their heads against the wall, sobbing softly in grief, and stuff written wishes into the cracks of the Wailing Wall, pouring out years of sorrow in their hearts. 🌟Countless people come to the Wailing Wall every year, especially during important holidays. When the wall's crevices are filled with too many notes, they are regularly cleaned out. However, according to Jewish tradition, the notes that are removed cannot be discarded at will and must be buried in a nearby cemetery.

The church of the holy sepulchre

This is the holiest site in Christianity as it contains the site of Jesus's crucifixion and his tomb where rose on the third day. I am not religious but I could feel the weight of history as I entered the church. It is very popular with tourists and pilgrims so be prepared for a long wait at times. The church is located just a few hundred metres from holy Muslim and Jewish sites in the old city.

The Church of the Holy Sepulchre, located in the Old City of Jerusalem, is the place where Jesus was killed, buried and resurrected, and naturally became the most famous holy place of Christianity. The church, which looks unobtrusive, has a lot of interiors, and there are many legendary sacred remains, relics and ruins. The marble in the central hall is said to be the place where Jesus was finally removed from the cross. They kissed me so much, very religious.

The most ICONIC site in Jerusalem belongs to the Dome of the Rock! It has got to be the highlight of my trip getting up close to the shrine! Dome of the Rock is a significant Islamic shrine in Jerusalem. It is one of the most sacred sites to both Jews and Muslims! However, before visiting the site, you must do some homework first! While there are multiple entrances to the dome of the rock, you can ONLY enter the dome of the rock as a non muslim from the Western Wall! The entrance is only open for 1-2 hours from Sunday to Thursday and they’ll let you go on a bridge! Also, since it is a religious site, dress as modest as you can! For the art lovers in your group, there are works by famous artists like Henry Moore, Pablo Picasso, and Auguste Rodin. Explore a giant crater at Mitzpe Ramon Mitzpe Ramon is one of the most unique experiences in Israel. Located in the Negev desert, it’s a town that sits on the northern cliffs of the Ramon Crater. It’s a great place for hiking or biking, along with exploring wildlife. You can even take a jeep tour of the crater or repel from the edge. With its strange colors and otherworldly feel, The Ramon Crater is about the closest most of us will ever get to seeing Mars. There’s also a recently opened Mitzpe Ramon Visitor Center if you’re interested in learning about the geological story of the crater, the largest landform of its type in the world. Get a great view of the Old City of Jerusalem from the Austrian Hospice If you need to escape the hustle and bustle of the Old City but want a better view of the area, this is the place to go. The Austrian Hospice is a 19th century guesthouse that used to cater to German and Austrian visitors to the city. The Dome of the Rock, the Armenian Church of Our Lady of the Spasm, the Mount of Olives, and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher are all visible from the roof of the hospice. The rest of the building is worth a visit, too. There’s a Viennese-style cafe where you can sit in burgundy upholstered chairs and admire the chandelier. This kibbutz is located at the edge of the Judean Desert on the west coast of the Dead Sea. Home to 500 people, It’s the only populated botanical garden in the world and is recognized by the National Geographical Society as “the 11th wonder of the world.” Visit a harbor from the 1st century BCE at Caesarea National Park If you’re into beautiful beaches, ancient harbor ruins, and archaeology, this park halfway between Tel Aviv and Haifa is for you. It was named the best tourist spot in the Middle East by Travel & Leisure in 2020, and has lived up to its title ever since. Dating back to King Herod, It was built in the 1st century BCE and includes a well-preserved Roman theater, mosaics, columns, and sea views. Watching a sunset on the Mount of Olives is one of the best experiences to come to Jerusalem. The Mount of Olives is outside the East Side of the Old City of Jerusalem. It is said that it is a mountain. In fact, it is a mountain beam that is not high. The highest point is more than 800 meters. Coming out of the Lions Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem, it is not far away. It is said that Jesus preached on the Mount of Olives, and he entered Jerusalem from here a week before his death. In the late Mount of Olives, many Christian churches were built, so this is a holy place for Christianity. But on the slopes of the Mount of Olives, there are dense Jewish cemeteries.
