Beijing Garden Expo Park is a remnant of the 2013 Garden Expo. It's impossible to see it all in one day. This park features several sub-gardens named after major cities. The atmosphere here is filled with history and culture. The variously-formed terrain hasclose relationships with the mountains and rivers, . The resulting scene is quite extraordinary. Address: No. 15, Shejichang Road, Fengtai District

Beijing Garden Expo Park, located in the southwest of Beijing on the Yongding River, is probably one of the largest parks in Beijing. There is absolutely no problem in the whole day.
Beijing Garden Expo Park was once the venue of the China International Garden Expo, located on the banks of the Yongding River and facing the Lugou Bridge. The biggest feature here is naturally all kinds of garden buildings from all over the world and in the country, the European castle, the towers in the Middle East, and the gardens in the south of the Yangtze River.
If it is in the spring and summer season, the Fairview Valley is definitely not to be missed. It was originally a sand mining field, but now it has become a flowery valley and has been transformed into a sunken landscape garden. A large expanse of flowers blooms here, which is really "Liangyu Huazhou, Caifang Yun Trail".

Visited Beijing Garden Expo Park for the second time
Attractions near Gate 6 are located on a small hill, but the path is quite gentle. The Wenchang Pavilion framed with peach blossoms is stunningly beautiful. The peach blossoms below the Yongding Tower are in full bloom, and the peach trees along the Yongding River also make for a gorgeous view. The wall of forsythias over one meter high presents a unique beauty against the backdrop of the Yongding Tower .

The Yongding Tower on Eagle Mountain symbolizes eternal stability and tranquility
"Beijing Garden Expo Park: Yongding Tower" is located on the banks of the Yongding River, atop Eagle Mountain, and is one of the iconic thematic structures of the Beijing Garden Expo. The Yongding Tower features an attic-style architecture with a cement frame complemented by a wooden structure. Its exterior is an octagonal nine-story wooden tower in the style of the Liao and Jin dynasties, with a height of 69.7 meters and a base diameter of 42 meters. As an observation tower, each level of the Yongding Tower has a 360-degree viewing balcony. From the tower, one can overlook the entire Garden Expo Park up close and have a panoramic view of the entire city of Beijing in the distance. The Yongding Tower, together with the adjacent Lian Shi Lake and Garden Expo Lake, forms a picturesque landscape painting that integrates the lake's reflection of the tower and the surrounding mountains.

A garden where you can experience the charm of Jiangxi's culture and art
"Beijing Garden Expo: Nanchang Garden" is located in the traditional exhibition area of the Garden Expo. It is themed "Land of Natural Treasures and Scenic Beauty", integrating Gan-style architecture, Han Dynasty Haihun culture, Tang Dynasty poetry culture, Ming and Qing Dynasty Jiangxi merchant culture, as well as elements of the revolutionary red culture, showcasing the natural ecology and cultural landscape of the Ganpo land. The garden is divided into cultural and artistic theme areas dedicated to the Ming Dynasty playwright Tang Xianzu and the painter Zhu Da, also known as Bada Shanren, with a stone archway of the Wei House as the curtain. It also displays landscapes such as the Wanli ancient well, Hakka earthen buildings, and the Peony Pavilion, which together constitute the cultural essence of Nanchang Garden.

The exhibition garden embodies the characteristics of ice and snow and the style of European architecture
"Beijing Garden Expo: Harbin Garden" is located in the modern exhibition garden area of the Garden Expo. Harbin Garden, themed as the 'Summer Capital of the Ice City', mainly adopts the style of European churches in its landscape design, using white as the primary color to reflect the ice and snow landscape of Harbin. Its design themes include: Summer Capital of Ice and Snow, European Ice City, Melting Ice and Snow, Forest Cabins, and Wetland Waterscapes. Inside the garden, there are churches, sculptures, glass passages, and snowflakes. The achievements of Harbin's construction are also engraved on the stele below. The process of ice and snow melting is simulated to reflect the forest wetland landscape, fully showcasing the natural beauty and cultural characteristics of Harbin.

Medicines have myriad forms depending on their hierarchy, but a doctor's heart remains the same regardless of the patient's wealth
"Beijing Garden Expo Park: Shijiazhuang Garden" is also known as the Apricot Grove Cultural Garden, located in the modern exhibition area of the Garden Expo Park. The term "Apricot Grove" originates from the Three Kingdoms period, from the story of the physician Dong Feng who healed the wounded and saved lives. Shijiazhuang Garden is an exhibition garden that does not emphasize architecture and landscape; instead, its overall layout uses traditional Chinese medicine as a backdrop, focusing on promoting the culture of traditional Chinese medicine. Inside the garden, the use of blue bricks and imitation antique stone slabs creates an atmosphere of ancient medical culture. The Shijiazhuang Garden features "Waterfront Homes" built in the style of Hebei residential houses, with details such as stone mills, spinning wheels, and grain storage revealing a strong Hebei folk custom.

The Garden Expo Park welcomes spring to the garden
The spring in Beijing's Garden Expo Park, also known as Kunming Garden, is just 200 meters south of the No. 4 gate. After passing the Shijiazhuang Garden, you will arrive. Kunming, the city of eternal spring, enjoys spring all year round, and its unique flowers of central Yunnan are renowned worldwide. When the Garden Expo Park was being built, the self-narrative stele in the Spring Garden mentioned that it coincided with the imperial visit to the Gao Garden Expo, and Kunming should contribute its modest efforts. Bringing the colorful auspicious clouds of the plateau to construct the eternal scenic beauty of central Yunnan, all within one garden, named 'Spring Arrives', as if spring itself has come. Just as recorded on the stele, Kunming Garden is brimming with the vitality of spring, thriving and flourishing.

The capital also has a touch of the south, where the storytelling of Pingtan ebbs and flows
Beijing boasts numerous scenic spots that rival the beauty of the south, including Gubei Water Town, the Garden of Harmonious Interests in the Summer Palace, and the Jiangnan Garden in the Garden Expo Park, among others. Today's note introduces the Jiangnan-style scenery of the Beijing Garden Expo Park. 'The gardens of Jiangnan are the best under heaven,' said the great Tang Dynasty poet Bai Juyi: 'The south is lovely, with scenery I've known well. At sunrise, the river's flowers are redder than fire, and in spring, the water is as green as blue. Can one not reminisce about the river?' Hence, the garden is named 'Jiangnan Garden.' The Jiangnan Garden is a highlight of the Beijing Garden Expo Park, and it is the largest Jiangnan-style garden in northern China to date. The Jiangnan Garden has put considerable effort into the planting of its garden vegetation. To match the name 'Jiangnan,' most of the plants are species from the south, and the background music in the garden is performed by famous Pingtan artists, creating an even more harmonious and lifelike atmosphere.

The exhibition garden themed on the unique urban paradise of Peach Blossom Land
"Beijing Garden Expo Park: Changde Garden" is located on the east side of Ginkgo Avenue in the Garden Expo Park. Changde, formerly known as Wuling, is renowned for the 'Peach Blossom Spring' tale by the Eastern Jin dynasty literary figure Tao Yuanming, which bestowed upon Changde the reputation of a 'world beyond the worldly realm' and 'a blessed land of idyllic beauty.' Hence, Changde is also referred to as 'the city inside Peach Blossom Land.' The Changde Garden in the Beijing Garden Expo Park is a recreation of this Peach Blossom Land in people's hearts, with elegance as its fundamental tone. The garden is divided into four scenic spots: Peach Grove Inquiry, Poetry Corridor, Wuling Spring Scenery, and Flower Fields Pathways, with a meticulous overall layout and profound connotations. Its beauty is captivating, making visitors linger and forget to return.

Garden Expo Park Lhasa Garden
Today's note showcases the Beijing Garden Expo Park Lhasa Garden. Lhasa is located in the middle of the Tibetan Plateau and is a strategic town in the southwest border of China. It is the political, economic, cultural center, and transportation hub of Tibet, as well as a sacred place for Tibetan Buddhism, leaving behind countless cultural relics. The main body of the Lhasa Garden is a building with typical Tibetan style. The design concept mainly reflects the real life of the Tibetan people and incorporates a large amount of Tibetan ethnic cultural elements, which not only shows the long and profound history of the Tibetan people but also highlights their unique traditional culture.

The 'Monet Garden' in Beijing Garden Expo Park
In the Jiangsu Garden of the Beijing Garden Expo Park, there is a lake surrounded by greenery. With the arrival of spring, the trees are lush, the lake water is clear to the bottom, and the scenery is very reminiscent of the Monet Garden.
The Jiangsu Garden, themed 'Memories of Jiangnan', is also known as the 'Memories of Jiangnan Garden'. Overlooking the Jiangsu Garden, the main view is the Lotus Fragrance Hall, with the Fan Pavilion on the right. Located in the traditional exhibition garden area of the Garden Expo Park, its purpose is to showcase the classical gardens of the Jiangnan region, with a focus on the charm of private gardens. It is a collection garden that integrates the characteristics of Suzhou classical gardens and Jinling gardens. The Jiangsu Garden covers an area of 13,000 square meters, with a building area of 2,000 square meters.

The late cherry blossoms are in full bloom in the cherry blossom garden
The cherry blossom garden is located on the east side of Service Area No.1 of the Beijing Garden Expo Park and next to the Macau Garden. Based on a large number of cherry blossoms, some other early spring plants are arranged to create a lively spring scene. From late March to mid-April, the 10,000 square meter cherry blossom garden in the Beijing Garden Expo Park blooms beautifully. Also, outside the Jiangsu Garden, there is another cherry blossom viewing area. In this splendid season, strolling through the cherry blossom garden and savoring the long-standing cherry blossom culture is truly delightful!

The garden that showcases the historical and cultural heritage of the ancient capital Chang'an
"Beijing Garden Expo Park: Xi'an Garden" is located on the west side of the Ginkgo Avenue in the Garden Expo Park. Xi'an was the ancient capital of thirteen dynasties in Chinese history, and the Xi'an Garden is a garden themed on the simple and grand architectural style of the Han Dynasty. The entrance to the Xi'an Garden is marked by a large seal engraved with "Xi'an Garden", and the main building in the center of the garden, "Han Tai", is modeled after the architectural style of the Han Dynasty palace where Emperor Liu Bang of the Han stayed in Hanzhong. Around the garden, there are relief walls depicting the Silk Road, accompanied by Changxin Palace lanterns, totem pillars of the Azure Dragon, White Tiger, Vermilion Bird, and Black Tortoise, and imitation bronze wild goose and fish lamps, all of which highlight the rich Han Dynasty charm of the ancient capital Chang'an.

Beijing Garden Expo Park
On April 13, 2024, I went to the Garden Expo Park on the weekend, fearing it would be too crowded. The Garden Expo Park is quite large; I only visited the section of the Garden Expo. This section is located between Gate 4 and Gate 5. Parking is convenient at Gate 4. Entering from Gate 4, I first saw the Changsha Garden and ended with the Beijing Garden. The most beautiful ones are the Jiangnan Garden and the Beijing Garden. Some people were taking wedding photos. The flowers were blooming nicely, but it was a pity that the weather was intermittently sunny and overcast.

Beijing Garden Expo Park is in full spring bloom
Beijing Garden Expo Park's layout consists of 'one axis, two points, and five gardens.' The 'one axis' refers to the Garden Expo Axis, which is the scenic axis that runs through the main exhibition area. The 'two points' refer to the Yongding Tower and the Brocade Valley. Yongding Tower is an imitation ancient tower in the style of the Liao and Jin dynasties, standing at 69.7 meters tall, and is the iconic building of the Garden Expo Park; Brocade Valley is a sunken flower valley created from a construction waste landfill site of over 20 hectares, adorned with a profusion of flowers. The 'five gardens' are the Traditional Exhibition Garden, Modern Exhibition Garden, Creative Exhibition Garden, International Exhibition Garden, and Wetland Exhibition Garden, with a total of 69 exhibition gardens.
In November 2013, Beijing Garden Expo Park was awarded the title of Advanced Collective of the Beijing Garden Expo. In August 2016, it was rated as a 'National AAAA-Level Tourist Attraction' by the National Tourism Administration. Beijing's Garden Expo Park is the place to capture the beauty of lilacs
🤩Who else doesn't know where the lilac ceiling of Beijing is😎? When it comes to ancient-style lilac photography spots in Beijing👀, the Garden Expo Park is definitely top-notch👍! These photos were taken on April 12th, and it's currently the peak bloom period😁! The distribution of lilacs is as follows👇:
📍Lilac Garden: Here you can take a selfie with the Yongding Tower🤳. There's a large area of flowers here🌸~
📍Wenchang Pavilion: You can take a selfie with both Wenchang Pavilion and the lilacs🤳. To the west of Wenchang Pavilion👉, there's a Lilac Avenue lined with lilacs on both sides😜~
On the way to Wenchang Pavilion, there's a lake👀 where you can capture reflections🤩~
The Lilac Garden is closest to parking lot 6🚗, about a 10-minute walk👣. There are also parking lots outside the Garden Expo Park. The most beautiful time in the Garden Expo Park😍 is when the lilacs are at their best👏~
The lilacs in the Garden Expo Park are simply stunning, surpassing all the lilacs I've seen before😎. On weekdays, there are very few people😜, and you can see the pink lilacs, which are so beautiful🤩. The lilacs are blooming most beautifully right now😁, and some are not yet fully open, so the colors are also rich😝, with various shades of purple and different depths of pink, which are simply captivating😍.
Luckily, I entered directly from gate six and headed straight for Wenchang Pavilion🤣. The Garden Expo Park is super large, and if I had entered from another gate, I probably would have worn out my legs😅. Now, there's even no admission fee🎫, which is such a great deal👏!

A garden that recreates the natural landscape and poetic charm of the West Lake
"Beijing Garden Expo: Hangzhou Garden" is located on the west side of Ginkgo Avenue in the Garden Expo Park, and it is a garden that recreates the natural landscape and poetic charm of the West Lake. Hangzhou Garden is based on the ten scenes of the West Lake, with Hua Gang Guan Yu as the theme, displaying the unique charm of the West Lake's beautiful landscape. The main gate of Hangzhou Garden is the "West Lake Tian Xia Jing" archway, facing directly the "Hua Gang Guan Yu" and the Imperial Stele Pavilion landscape upon entering. The Peony Pavilion is the highest point in the garden. There are also landscapes with Hangzhou garden characteristics such as the Red Fish Pond, Yun Shui Ju, and the Nine-Turn Bridge in the garden, reflecting the Hangzhou garden concept of "following nature and integrating heaven and man".

A train to spring at the Garden Expo Park and the Chinese Garden Museum
I took 27 subway stops and 5 bus stops to visit the Garden Expo Park and the Chinese Garden Museum. There were a lot of people because the peach blossoms were blooming. Here's a brief review for future visitors:
1. Transportation
The subway station for the Garden Expo Park is the fastest way to get there by bus directly at the entrance. You can take either bus 903 or a special line, and the stop at Gate 6 passes by the Garden Museum, but we went to climb the mountain first because there are fewer places to rest on the mountain than in the museum, and more energy is needed.
2. Garden Expo Park
Peach Blossom Valley is located between Wenchang Pavilion and Yongding Tower, so almost everyone gets off at Gate 6 and climbs up the mountain. The road up the mountain is easy to walk, with a gentle slope and a wide cement path that can accommodate vehicles.
The peach trees in the valley are dense and gather along the slope like clouds. The peach blossoms here are mainly white and light pink, delicate and softly fragrant, already showing signs of withering. Don't be fixated on a specific photo spot; in fact, without post-processing, no matter how you take the picture, it won't have the beauty of a sky full of blossoms.
There are many places on the mountain where you can overlook a railway, with freight trains passing by frequently, and the red locomotives are very eye-catching. If you stand by the peach trees and look, it's like a train heading to spring.
The park's facilities are average, but since there is no admission fee, you can't ask for too much.
3. Garden Museum
This museum is actually hard to do because gardens themselves are architecture, and displaying architecture within a building can't just be about models. Rebuilding would be strange since some gardens are already reconstructions, which would be a reconstruction of a reconstruction.
Their approach is to rebuild a Suzhou-style private garden like the Pishi Mountain House indoors, and a northern imperial garden with carved beams and painted rafters outdoors. In addition, the theme exhibition hall displays some technical details of garden construction, such as architectural painting, building components, etc.
The indoor part I think is average, with the feeling of fresh paint, lacking an immersive experience except for convenient cosplay photography. The outdoor part is quite good, blending with the mountains of the Garden Expo Park, and there are plenty of places to rest, making it very suitable for spring outings and enjoyment.
