French Riviera | Medieval Fairy Tale Towns
1️⃣Grimaud: 🌈 Known as the colorful Port Grimaud, the 'Little Venice of Provence', with its small bridges, squares, and canals.
2️⃣Èze: Located between Monaco and Nice, it is one of the oldest and most beautiful medieval towns in France, with stone cottages perched atop rocky hills, overlooking the endless sea 🌊, resembling a city in the sky.
3️⃣Bormes-les-Mimosas: The history of the town dates back to the 4th century BC, and the current street appearance largely follows the style of the 12th century. Bormes is a town blooming with flowers, having won the gold medal in the village floral competition. From January to March each year, the town is filled with golden yellow flowers, 🌼 making a stroll here extremely therapeutic.
4️⃣Antibes: This place has a port 🚤 where yachts dock, 16th-century city walls, and cobblestone streets adorned with flowers. No wonder the charming Antibes has won the favor of many artists and writers, including Graham Greene, Max Ernst, and Picasso.
5️⃣Mougins: Mougins is a medieval town built spiraling around the top of a hill, offering an unobstructed view of the surrounding scenery. 🎨 This ancient village has always been a gathering place for artists. The most famous is Picasso, who lived here for 12 years until his death in 1973. Today, there are many art galleries and museums around the town, filled with an artistic atmosphere.

Taller than me? Botanical Garden on the top of the mountain in Southern France
Take bus 82 from bavastro station in Nice, France 🇫🇷, it is recommended to take the bus at 8:11, which can reach Èze in half an hour. It is suggested to sit on the right side of the bus to enjoy the sea view along the way.
Then walk for 15 minutes to climb to the top of the mountain, and you will arrive at the Botanical Garden right when it opens at 9 am!
The town is really too beautiful! It's like walking into Alice's Wonderland.
There is also the Fragonard Perfume Factory in Èze, if you have time, you can go for a visit~

A stunningly beautiful town in the south of France
The Blue Coast hiking trail, Nietzsche's Path Chemin de Nietzsche
A classic hiking route on the Blue Coast~ Beginner's version
Nietzsche's Path Chemin de Nietzsche is a rocky trail, with a total length of 2120 meters, starting from Èze sur Mer by the sea, climbing for about 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach the medieval village of Èze Village. The altitude difference is 400 meters. It takes about 45 minutes to descend.
Èze is only 12 kilometers away from Nice, and it takes only 13 minutes to get to Èze sur Mer by train from Nice Ville.
The famous philosopher Nietzsche once lived in the Blue Coast area, and the third part of his work 'Thus Spoke Zarathustra' was completed on the mountain paths of Èze.
Nietzsche said: 'In Nice, the clear sky illuminated my life for the first time, and I wrote the third part of 'Thus Spoke Zarathustra'. Many secluded spots and hills in the Nice area have left me with unforgettable memories.'
After exiting the Èze sur Mer train station, cross the street and walk to the right for about 4 minutes (270 meters) to find an uphill path with a sign indicating the start of Nietzsche's Path.
The small street had its first hike on New Year's Day 2020, a modest attempt, enjoying the green mountains and waters...

Eze Village Botanical Garden - Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea
It's about a 40-minute drive from Nice, the transportation is not very convenient, you can only take a taxi. I have to say that the scenery is worth it!! There are many cacti and other flowers and plants in the botanical garden on the castle, but the most beautiful check-in point is still the sea view~

My fav village on the french riveria 😍🇫🇷😍🌵🍀🌴🌿
#timetotravel
Èze village is a charming small town on the french riveria that is up on the hill, therefore it is a bit tricky to get to by train.
You will have to either uber, hike or bus from the eze train station. The bus stop is always crowded and the bus does not run very frequently. For ubers, we called one but the driver tried to rip us off and said he has to charge more when he arrived. As for hiking, I would not recommend hiking up since the French sun is a killer ☀️…
If you are coming from Nice, I would hands down recommend taking the buses 82 or 112 and the journey would take you approx 30 minutes.
Although èze is more difficult to get to as compared with the other cities on the french riveria, you should not miss out on visiting it!!!
In the heart of èze is a botanical garden called Le Jardin Exotique. Definitely would recommend visiting because the views is GOD SENT. It is advised to get tickets at the machine at the beginning of the slope and not at the ticket office, so that you wouldn’t have to queue!!!

Top recommended attraction on the whole internet! If you plan to visit only one small town, I would never recommend Eze.
The romanticism of southern France is famous for its charming small towns. Many people visit Eze because of travel guides. Eze is indeed beautiful, but if you only have time to visit one small town, of course, you want a travel experience with higher cost performance. I recommend a small town that is highly recognized by the French and will leave you with unforgettable memories for a lifetime.
📍Detailed address:
She is located at Cap Martin in Roquebrune, which is 6.4 kilometers away from Monaco and very easy to reach.
🚉Transportation guide: Bus routes 18, 24, and 12 directly reach the entrance at the foot of the mountain. Self-driving is also convenient with two parking lots available.
❤️Recommendation reason:
1. The area is much larger than Eze, go there and have fun.
In the two towns, there is a castle built in the 10th century. Inside the castle, there is a window that looks like a window to heaven, breathtakingly beautiful.
Each household's house has a different colorful hue, with lush plants and gorgeous flowers. A hundred-year-old wisteria decorates an entire street.
In one of the four towns, there is an olive tree with a history of over a thousand years. Everyone should go and see it for good luck.
The most important thing is that there is a beautiful sea view here, which is more than what Eze has. The reality faces the sea, and it's a warm and blooming spring day.
👍Most recommended:
The castle is a must-visit, with a five euro admission fee per person, it will definitely let you capture picturesque scenery like a postcard.
💰Average cost per person: The number of town restaurants is relatively more than that of Eze, and most of the seats are in the position to enjoy the sunny sea view. Each dish starts at 18 euros, and the average cost per person is around 25 euros if you don't order dessert.

When I stepped into the town of Eze in the south of France, I think this is probably my most desirable European life...
Eze town stands on a 1400-foot cliff and climbs to the highest of the strange botanical gardens. You can see the enchanting Cote d'Azur. The blueness of the Mediterranean is very calm. There are many boutiques in the mountains, or you can have a French meal in the petty bourgeoisie restaurant. If you come to the south of France, don't miss it, I love it!

Located in the red town of the cliff, Eze
, there is an ancient street and the fragrance of lavender. Walking through the narrow streets of the old city, you can take pictures of it everywhere.
The town has still preserved the medieval architectural style, full of classical French Mediterranean romantic style, and the photos taken are also full of retro charm.
The town is located in the mountains along the Mediterranean coast. Vehicles pass between the mountains and the most beautiful Mediterranean panorama.

On the way from Nice to Monaco, you will pass through a small town, Ezezenze, which is like the old European town in the movie, the gravel road, the red maple wall, the handicraft shops and restaurants hidden in the alleys. The corner will have a beautiful view.
The town was built in 550 BC and is one of the oldest and most beautiful mountain towns on the French Blue Coast. Nietzsches love journey and the Nietzsches path, the princes luxury palace, the film master Hitchcocks shooting of the Catch the Thief, the fairy tale love story of the former King of Monaco and Grace Kelly is said to be Start here. The remains of the Gaotai City site, once a village center, have now become a tropical botanical garden. From here, you can see the Fira Strait and the Mediterranean Sea, and the scenery is excellent.

Although the town itself is small, the entire village can be roughly visited in 30 minutes, but there are many alleys in the town, and every time you go to a lane, you will find different novelties. EZE VILLAGE is a charming town that is recommended to enjoy the quiet town and the sparkling Mediterranean Sea in the sun on a sunny summer day.
France, the town of Eze

In the small town of Eze in France, the great poet Nietzsche was inspired by its beautiful scenery to write the masterpiece "Zarathustra". After his death, people named Eze's path "Nie Cai Trail". La Chevre d'or is located next to this trail, at the foot of the Eze Village. On the way to the mountain, you can pass the entrance of the hotel. You can see the landscape of the Golden Goat Hotel, with fake animals and fountains. The pool and garden trails look poetic. One side of the town is occupied by the world's top luxury hotels. There are many small platforms and swimming pools scattered across the mountainside. Designers carefully craft each small platform. Designed as a viewing platform, it is an invincible seascape when you sit down; the Michelin-starred restaurant of Golden Goat Fort is facing the blue Mediterranean Sea, surrounded by brown mountains and lush olive trees. If you want to eat, you must be prepared to break the money. .
France, the town of Eze

Located in the middle of Nice and Monaco, France, Eze village is a medieval century town hidden in the mountains of 400 meters above sea level. I have to praise the French people for their natural artistic cells. Even the old stone walls were casually decorated with flowers and plants, and they immediately turned into a perfect punch card background. Overall, Eze is a simple and lovely hill city. There are still cobbled cobblestone roads in the town, which is like a fairy tale. It is a veritable "most beautiful town".
France, Eze

The village on the top of the Ezgao high hills is surrounded by city walls to prevent invasion by foreign enemies. This is a form of fortress village that is unique to the area and remains intact until now. Although the village is small, the road is as complicated as a maze. The remains of the Gaotai City site, once a village center, have now become a tropical botanical garden. From here, you can see the Fira Strait and the Mediterranean Sea, and the scenery is excellent.
Desperado.
Eze was once described as the eagle's nest because it is situated on a cliff that overlooks the entire Mediterranean Sea at a height of 427 meters above sea level. It is so high that the light reflected from the glass of the top of the church can be seen at a great distance. An Egyptian cross in the church hints at the roots of the village, which was the temple that the Phoenicians built for the Egyptian goddess Aisi.
Desperado.
From Nice to Monaco, there will be a small town between Eze, because the way to build a house on the rock wall is like an eagle nesting.
Desperado.
These beautiful little scenes are the same fairy tale Eze. It is said that the fairytale love story of the former King of Monaco and Grace Kelly started here. In the town of Eze, every corner is a pleasant scenery. Get the corner of the intersection of the sea, light and shadow make this place more charming, I really want to go to the balcony on the second floor, enjoy the sunshine after an afternoon. There are galleries and souvenir shops all over here, pretending to take a group at home, and the picturesque town behind the sea to see the sea is my home~~haha
This village is built in a unique way. It is built on a steep rock wall, much like the way of nesting, so it is also known as the nest village. The village on the top of the high hills is surrounded by walls to prevent invasion by foreign enemies. This is a form of fortress village that is unique to the area and remains intact until now. Although the village is small, the road is as complicated as a maze. So come up with signs and maps. The backdrop of the mountain is very beautiful. It used to be the remains of the Gaotai city site in the center of the village. It has now become a tropical botanical garden. Looking at the Fira Strait and the Mediterranean Sea, you will definitely be worthwhile.
It is best to take the bus from Nice to Eze, we take the tram to the vauban station, and then as most people go to the bus terminal, (to turn a corner) and then take the 82 or 112 Get off at EZE VILLAGE
