Excellent boutique hotel, good facilities, in particular indoor pool open until 22:00. Tv in the room was not working so upon request we were moved to another room, albeit an upgraded to a suite. Excellent breakfast too!

I hadn't been to Peniche before. Decided to stay at the Star Inn and really glad that I did. Very helpful staff and location is right next to a lovely sandy beach. The breakfast was really good as was the buffet dinner which was reasonably priced with a wide choice of food available. There's also an excellent Surf School and equipment rentals - Special Surf 78 located in the hotel lobby. I'll stay here again the next time I'm in Peniche. It's a very nice hotel for a family stay and for solo travellers. I'd definitely recommend it!

Lovely hostel in the Baleal/Ferrel area. Just keep in mind that it’s not located in Peniche town itself. That said, Baleal is a charming and laid-back little town, and the beach is only a few minutes away. The shared dorm was spacious enough to comfortably store my belongings, and each bed had its own locker. The bathroom was clean and well maintained. The bed was very comfortable, and the linen was spotless. The kitchen was also very well equipped. The hostel has great facilities, including a swimming pool, a balcony, and several common areas where it’s easy to meet and connect with other travelers. The only downside was that my room was located directly under the bar, so it could get quite noisy some evenings, even around 11 p.m. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. I originally booked a two-night stay but enjoyed it so much that I extended it by three more nights. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks for a great experience!

Refeicoes só fizemos o pequeno almoço e estava bom. Ja la tinha estado á uns bons anos e embora tenham feito uma reforma, achei que o quarto merecia uma reforma maior. O quarto onde ficamos era demasiado pequeno. O SPA continua tambem igual ao que tinhamos experimentado á anos atras e a massagem foi boa. O staff muito simpatico

I really like the Batala Villa Hotel. At this time, there are many choices for the surrounding small towns when booking the hotel. Many parties consider choosing the Batala Villa Hotel due to location and star standards. I am very fortunate to make this choice. The hotel is extremely clean, the lobby is classically beautiful, the room bedding is exquisite, and the breakfast is rich. There are several very good Portuguese and Mediterranean restaurants around the hotel, walking distance from Batala Abbey. The hotel's parking lot is large, and self-driving cars can be parked in the hotel's parking lot when visiting the monastery.

This was the most amazing Airbnb I’ve ever been in. The pictures don’t do this place just it is amazing. You can tell the host and his wife put a lot of love and effort into this place. Our host actually met us at the door as we were a little lost. He brought us and showed us around and even gave us a welcoming drink. We were so impressed with the place. We were planning on moving on to Porto and decided to stay an extra day and stay at the Airbnb. I can’t say enough about the place and the hospitality. It was just amazing. I will definitely come back.

I couldn't have had a better experience, the service was top tier even before checking in, the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The room was spotless, the spa was great. The breakfast was definitely amazing, from the delicious fruit to the staff readiness to prepare food in case you had any special requests os allergies. If you're considering this hotel for your stay in Batalha, I really believe this is the best option. I know I'll be staying there when I go back to Batalha or anywhere around.

The village, Aljubarrota, is itself of great historical interest. It is around 10 minutes to Alcobaca. We found the area to be very pleasant. As for the Casa da Padeira itself, the quality of service and comfort was extremely good. For example, the breakfast was excellent, as were the rooms and the immediate surroundings of the Casa. I should add that we were given a list of suggested restaurants in the vicinity which turned out to be quite useful. In all, this was a surprising, very worthwhile visit.

Some hotels impress with their current excellence. Others, with the excellence they once had. This one clearly falls into the latter category. You can tell that it was once a top-tier establishment. The infrastructure is there, the concept is there, and the setting is there too. The potential remains intact. The problem isn't structural; it's operational. It's about attention to detail, or rather, the unfortunate lack thereof. It's evident this was a very good unit and still has high potential. The problem isn't structural; it's a lack of care and detailed management. The deterioration is visible in small things: overgrown lawns, weeds growing between paving stones in outdoor areas. The indoor pool area has rust and an unsightly appearance, easily fixable with basic maintenance. The outdoor pool is not well-maintained. The children's pool has a constant, toilet-flushing-like noise, which is incompatible with relaxation. More critically, the indoor pool has insects. In an enclosed space, this is unacceptable and would be simple to resolve with proper sealing. In the rooms, issues arise such as dirty bedding. The changing rooms by the indoor pool are clearly in need of renovation. The awning at the entrance is dirty. Flags are degraded. Exterior windows have visible grime. Untreated rust spots. None of this requires significant investment; it requires management and rigor. The overall feeling is of a quality hotel that has been neglected. Positive points: The staff are excellent, friendly, and helpful. Efficient reception. Exceptional breakfast, with variety and attention to specific needs like celiacs and vegans. Well-maintained space. Excellent location. Overall rating: 7/10. With the right level of detail, it could easily be an 8.5 or 9. What's missing isn't potential; it's execution. We are grateful for the welcome and stay. Thank you.
