Changsha Museum Review

The collection of Changsha City Museum is very good, it is worth seeing, there are several things I have never seen in other museums. We are used to every city, the first thing to do is to go to the museum of this city.

Changsha Museum is a national-level museum, in the Beichen Delta in the northwest corner of Changsha City. The museum has a total of five floors, with an area of 10,000 square meters and an exhibition area of 9,000 square meters. Our trip to Changsha in total came to Changsha Museum twice, feeling that its exhibition is not inferior to the Hunan Provincial Museum, but compared to a ticket difficult to find provincial Bo, Changsha Museum looks not difficult to make an appointment. There are now 6 exhibition halls open, of which Hall 1-3 is the ancient historical and cultural display of Changsha called "Xiangjiang North", and Hall 4 is the modern historical and cultural display of Changsha called "Midstream and Water". There are two special exhibition halls on the second floor. When we went (at the end of October 23), the exhibition was the Qing Dynasty Red Mansion Dream Painting Book Exhibition and the "Empire Southern Xinjiang" Nanyue National Cultural Relics Exhibition. Unfortunately, the two days we went to the museum were too late. The first day was pressed to stop the entry time before 4:30 pm, and the next day was about half an hour early, so the two days were less than 30 minutes and 1 hour. Finally, you can only browse the various pavilions quickly. If you really want to pick on the museum, can you consider extending the closing time to 5:30 or even 6 pm?

Changsha City Museum is located in the Changsha Riverside Cultural Park Scenic Area (Xinhe Delta), Kaifu District, Changsha City, Hunan Province. Changsha City Museum is a national-level museum and comprehensive geography museum integrating cultural relics collection, conservation research, display publicity, education services and other functions. According to the museum's official website in March 2020, the Changsha City Museum has an exhibition area of 9,000 square meters; the museum has more than 50,000 cultural relics (sets), covering all kinds of physical objects from the Paleolithic era to the recent modern history and cultural development of Changsha.

This time I went to Changsha Museum, the biggest harvest was to have a certain understanding of Changsha Kiln. I was completely shocked by the Changsha Kiln in the Tang Dynasty. In addition to the technical innovation, globalization, order-based trade, etc., reflected in the various poetic and paintings in the porcelain objects, have given us a new understanding of the ancients of the Tang Dynasty.

I wanted to go to the Hunan Museum, but I couldn't make an appointment, so I wanted to make an appointment early, it should be a week in advance, or earlier. There are quite few items here, much less exhibits than the Henan Museum, and there are more bronzes. The artifacts on the history books are mostly in the Henan Museum. The museum is free and worth visiting.
