Greenwich Village is a large residential area in Lower West Town, south of Manhattan, New York City. Most of the residents are middle-class families. Ironically, the original attractions of Greenwich Village eventually led to its middle-class and commercial development. Greenwich Village is named after Greenwich in London, England.
