Reviews: Shangri-La + Tiger Leaping Gorge 1-day Tour | Pure Play No Shopping | Tusi Feast | Large Prayer Flags | Return via Expressway

What a fantastic trip! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 I was hesitant about joining the tour because of the bad weather, but thankfully I didn't give up! The scenery along the way was absolutely stunning. 🤩 It was drizzling when we arrived at Tiger Leaping Gorge, and we saw snow on the mountains on the way to the Pagoda within a Pagoda. By the time we reached Napa Lake in the afternoon, the sky had cleared up. Although the wind was incredibly strong and there was ice everywhere, it was still a very fun and unforgettable experience. It was my first time trying horseback riding, holding a lamb, wearing Tibetan clothing, and attending a Tusi banquet. It was a very enjoyable trip. I especially want to praise our driver, Mr. Yang. He was incredibly kind and sincere. Not only was his driving skill top-notch and super smooth, making the ride incredibly comfortable, but he also had a wealth of knowledge, effortlessly describing all the attractions in a lively, interesting, and humorous way. We had a lot of fun along the way, and he even offered to take photos for us. I wish Mr. Yang all the best!

The day trip was packed but not tiring, and good value for money, satisfying our need for a more in-depth tour since we didn't have time. Our tour leader, Dunzhu, was enthusiastic and composed, explaining the sights and local customs along the way. He managed the itinerary accurately, ensuring we didn't encounter any serious traffic jams or queues. On the way back, we even saw a sunset view of the mountains bathed in golden light – a truly enjoyable trip.

The driver arranged pick-up and drop-off a day in advance, with accurate license plate information, and was reliable, dependable, and easy to understand. He provided helpful tips on Buddhist safety at the attractions, and spoke English to foreign tourists, making communication at the sites simple and easy. He was truly multi-talented, ensuring everything was well-organized for each tourist. We visited every attraction thoroughly! We had a fantastic time! Lunch was also great – unlimited meat and vegetables, and free-flowing local wines – as long as we didn't waste any! Interactive activities included presenting hadas (ceremonial scarves), learning to dance, and more – a truly enriching experience! Tashi Delek! I'd definitely come back again! A top-notch tour from Ctrip, the arrangements were excellent!

The tour was nice, we saw beautiful places but the guide was not speaking english at all. The first stop to see the bend of the river was not done. We had to pay some extras for wearing local costumes and riding horses around Napa area. If you don’t pay, then you have 2 hours free but there is nothing much to do around except pictures with horses. But the meal was included with local food and a dance show. At the end, it was a nice day but don’t expect to learn information about the places you will see if you don’t speak chinese.

We got up a bit early, but there were very few people at Tiger Leaping Gorge, making it easy to buy tickets and take photos. On our way back, it got busier, and some photo spots even had queues. Following our guide Yang's instructions, we took the escalator all the way to the end, and then went back to take photos at each escalator stop on the way back. It went very smoothly; for older people, paying 70 yuan for the escalator was a great deal. We saw all the planned attractions, and had plenty of time to explore, making the trip truly worthwhile. A word of caution: the so-called Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge (Shangri-La section) is actually the same place—the dangerous section with the Tiger Leaping Rock. The section across the river is the Lijiang section, which doesn't have escalators.

Today I participated in a day trip to Tiger Leaping Gorge, Dukezong, and Songzanlin Monastery in Shangri-La. The experience was excellent throughout. Thank you to driver Yang Shuqiang for his hard work! The service was meticulous and thoughtful, the driving was smooth and reassuring, the itinerary was well-planned, and the time management was excellent. It was a very pleasant trip, five stars!
