Direct flights can be tiring, but they save you the hassle of transfers. While hotels are flexible in their selection and may be fully booked, if you do your research, you can still find hotels with great value for money.

This time, since we were going to ski at Hong Kong Hill, which is quite far from Osaka, we bought this JR Pass, which was very cost-effective. A round trip would normally cost around 6,000-7,000 yen, so this basically saved us half the price. I recommend buying GRP tickets if you're traveling to distant places in Japan, as they generally save you money, and if you buy tickets for multiple trips, they often include some premium fares.
