Sandu'ao, also known as Sansha Bay and Ningde Port, is located in the southeast of Ningde City, Fujian Province, and is the midpoint of China's golden coastline. It is the "gateway to the east coast of Fujian and the throat of the Five Counties", and is a world-class natural deep-water port. In 2012, the port systems of Fuzhou, Ningde and Pingtan were integrated, and the five port areas of the original Ningde Port, including Sandu'ao and Houshi, were merged into Fuzhou Port.
