What is a Two Together Railcard?

A Two Together Railcard is a type of UK Railcard that offers discount train fares for two people aged 16+ traveling together. Both travelers must be named on the Railcard to get reduced fares for ticket types such as Standard Anytime, Off-Peak, Super Off-Peak, Advance, and more.
How much is a Two Together Railcard?

A Two Together Railcard costs £35 (or £17.50 each if the cost is split between 2 people). That's for a year of travel discounts. You can often get great discounts on Trip.com - sometimes even as low as £1 for a Railcard - so stay tuned for our regular deals.
Is the Two Together Railcard worth it?

Absolutely, but only if you plan to travel with your travel partner on at least a few occasions within the year. On average, people save £97* across the year (excluding the cost of the card), but there’s really no limit to how much you can use the card, meaning the savings really depend on how much you intend to take the train together!
What is better: a Two Together Railcard or a Senior Railcard?

It really depends on your specific circumstances and needs. Although both offer the same 1/3 discount, the Two Together Railcard costs the same as the Senior Railcard, but is for 2 people. This means the Two Together Railcard is effectively £17.50 (instead of £35) when split between 2 people. However, the Senior Railcard allows for solo travel, so you can use it more flexibly. The more you use your Railcard, the sooner you'll make the cost back in savings.

As well as that, you can purchase the Senior Railcard for a 3-year period at a discounted price, whereas you can only purchase the Two Together Railcard for a 1-year period.

Ultimately, you should consider how frequently you are planning to use the Railcard, how often you and your travel partner travel together, and how long you plan to use the Railcard for, to decide which is best for you.
How long does it take to get a Two Together Railcard?

After you successfully purchase a digital Two Together Railcard with Trip.com, it will appear in your account instantly, meaning you and your travel partner can start saving immediately! If you order a physical Two Together Railcard, it may take up to 10 days to arrive.
Can I renew my Two Together Railcard online?

You can easily renew your Railcard online!

On the Trip.com app, go to "Account", select the settings icon in the top-right corner, and ensure that your country or region is set to the United Kingdom.

Go to "Home" > "Trains" > "My Railcards".

Select the option to renew your expired or nearly expired Railcard.

Using your Two Together Railcard

Can you use a Two Together Railcard on your own?

No, you must be traveling with the other named Railcard holder to get the discount. If you are caught traveling alone with a discount ticket, you may be required to pay for an additional full-price ticket and/or pay a penalty fare.
Can I use a Two Together Railcard before 9:30 AM?

No, you cannot use a Two Together Railcard before 9:30 AM on weekdays. You can use a Two Together Railcard before 9.30 AM on weekends and bank holidays.
Can I travel with my Two Together Railcard at any time of the day?

You and your travel partner can use a Two Together Railcard for travel after 9:30 AM on weekdays, or at any time on weekends and bank holidays. Outside of these travel times, the Two Together Railcard cannot be used for discounts.
Can you use a Two Together and a Senior Railcard together?

You can own both a Two Together and a Senior Railcard at the same time. This means you’ll always receive a discount whether you’re traveling solo or as a duo. But remember, you can't use both Railcards on a single rail journey.
Can I use my Two Together Railcard on the London Underground?

Yes, but only if you purchase an Off-Peak Day Travelcard. Off-Peak Day Travelcards are only valid after 9:30 AM on weekdays and at any time on weekends and bank holidays. Railcard discounts on London Travelcards are usually only available when the ticket is bought as part of a National Rail journey from outside London Zones 1–9, and they may be subject to a minimum fare of £19.60.
Unlike other Railcards, you cannot link the Two Together Railcard to an Oyster Card, which would allow for discount Underground travel.
Can I use my Two Together Railcard on Eurostar?

No, unfortunately, you cannot receive a Two Together Railcard discount on Eurostar journeys.
Can I get a discount on season tickets with a Two Together Railcard?

No, the Two Together Railcard cannot be used to get discounts on season tickets.
If I buy a Two Together Railcard with Trip.com, can I use it with tickets booked through other channels?

Absolutely - your Two Together Railcard is available across all UK train services and providers. You can apply your Railcard to train bookings made through other channels. Just be sure to have the Trip.com app (where your Two Together Railcard is stored) ready to present to ticket inspectors when you travel.
Do digital Two Together Railcards work on older iPhone models?
