the roundabout..
Made famous by a drama-movie .. we thot we should have a look Enroute to Tokiwa Park/Bridge. It was Autumn weekday at temp around 15deg as displayed at the tower. It links 7-chome and part of the ext...
There seems to be a signal, but there are many cars that jump in for some reason. I don't know what the signal is for. I went early in the morning, so I didn't have a car behind me, and I could see the surroundings well, so I was calm, but I was quite anxious when the sun was setting or raining.
Looking at the map around Asahikawa Station, there is a circular road near Joban Park, about 1.5km north of the station north exit. That is Asahikawa Tokiwa Rotary. A symbol tower with a height of 35m stands in the center. Six roads branch at an annular intersection, but since a signal is installed, it is different from the roundabout which is often seen in Europe. Rotary-style intersections are rare in Japan, so the drivers who pass through here for the first time may be quite confused.
When I came from Tokyo and passed here for the first time, I felt very dangerous. Locals say, "If you get used to it, that's not the case," but a friend of an insurance employee says, "I avoid going there." I think there are many examples internationally when I feel that there is some design reason. I don't want to pass if possible.
I will drive from Asahikawa Station to the Self-Defense Forces. The place where the six roads intersect is a circular rotary, and there is also a watchtower. It is a circular rotary that is rare in Japan.

I wonder if the signal means something.

it seems that it's okay if you get used to it.
