It's at the Shinkansen exit of Kumamoto Station.
Original Text
A statue of Oteyan at the Shinkansen exit of JR Kumamoto Station. Ote is a common name for a young woman in Kumamoto and is said to be a real person, but it is not certain.
It was a statue of a dynamic girl. A long time ago, a song called Oteyan became popular, but I felt that I didn't understand it well in dialect. You can see it as soon as you exit the west exit of JR Kumamoto Station.
A bronze statue of a slightly sensual woman stands at the entrance of the Shinkansen. The motif is a folk song that humorously revives a woman called "Even".
Oteyan stands in front of the west exit of Kumamoto Station. The statue itself was pretty beautiful. Unless you have a business at the west exit, you probably won't notice it.
When Kumamoto Station was under construction, I didn't even ask this place because I was walking on the underground road 々 even if I got off the Shinkansen. The statue itself seems to have been in the former transportation center, which is now Sakura Machi Kumamoto. Currently, the concourse can pass through the east and west on the ground, so you can see it by walking from the tram stop. I think Kyushu people have heard it.
