Fukang Travel Guide
Fukang is situated in the northeast of the Tianshan mountain range on the southern edge of the Junggar Basin. The history of the region dates back to the Han and Tang dynasties, when it was an important stopping point on the Silk Road. Fukang has a wide range of tourist attractions include Tianchi Lake, which is situated next to Bogda Peak and is known for its crystal-clear water. It is one of Western China's most iconic destinations. Tourists can also visit the surrounding desert.

The lake is located an hr outside the city. we missed a bus at 8:30am from peoples park which take you directly to the site. In the end managed to get a didi/taxi to the site. At the car park you get out and head for a police registration for all foreigners. This took about 20 minutes. in the end they give you a piece of paper which says you buy tickets. The ticket line was short and it’s 150rmb entrance. the first shuttle take ls you to an area of restaurants. The food is cheap and there is lots of options.
From there you take another shuttle bus. then there is a short walk to the lake. There is a 5k walk around the lake and you can take a boats across also. A great site to visit.
