Gushan Yongquan Temple in Fuzhou City is the "Crown of Fujian Temple" and one of the key temples in the country. The temple is built on the mountainside of Gushan Mountain, which is 455 meters above sea level. The front is the Incense Burner Peak and the back is Baiyun Peak. According to legend, its former site is "Huayan Temple". In the fourth year of Tang Jianzhong (783), there was Longju Lingyuan Cave ("Gu Shan Zhi": "It was a pool first, and the poisonous dragon lived in it."). , asked the eminent monk Lingqiao to enter the mountain to kill Mao and set up a platform to recite the "Huayan Sutra", thus becoming the Huayan Temple, and from then on the dragon did not harm. Now, people regard the fourth year of Jianzhong (783) as the beginning of the establishment of Yongquan Temple. When Emperor Wuzong destroyed the Buddha, Huayan Temple was destroyed. In 908, King Shenzhi, the King of Min, built a new temple called "Guo Shiguan". In 915, it was renamed as Yongquan Temple in Baiyun Peak of Gushan Mountain. During the Song Dynasty, Song Zhenzong bestowed the "Yongquan Temple". In 1407, it was renamed Yongquan Temple. In the Ming Dynasty, the temple was destroyed by fire twice, and it was repaired and expanded successively to form today's scale. In 1699, the imperial book "Yongquan Temple" conferred by Kangxi on the mud-gilt plaque still hangs above the gate of the Temple of Heavenly Kings. The majestic and magnificent Yongquan Temple is the Mahavira Hall. The other large and small halls are surrounded by the Mahavira Hall. There are three statues of Sakyamuni in the hall, as well as the solemn eighteen Arhat statues, and the three holy statues behind. In front of the three statues, there is a long table, which has not been destroyed by fires and has a long history, so it is the treasure of the main hall in the temple. There are also many precious collections of books, scriptures and other decorative items and ceramics in the temple. There are many important inscriptions or inscriptions in the temple. The interior of the temple is resplendent and solemn, which makes people dare not blaspheme the greatness of the Buddha. The temple sells homemade snacks - peace cakes, which are widely loved by tourists. The taste is soft, sweet but not greasy, which adds fun to the journey and is a must-buy item when going to Yongquan Temple.
