The building is 46 meters high and cost $6 million to build in 1987. After Grant's death, the United States built the General Grant National Memorial in honor of this historical figure. However, it is not Grant himself buried under the memorial hall, but by Ulysses Simpson Grant (Ulysses Simpson Grant) and his wife Julia Dent Grant (Julia Dent Grant).
