A must watch if you visit Bristol and a beautiful area to have a walk and spend some good quality time with family & friends!

A group of University of Bristol Civil Enginnering graduates were visiting Bristol for a reunion 40 years after graduation. The Visitor Centre, run by Laura, set up a private tour with a volunteer guide, Mark Bonson, on Saturday morning and he delighted us for an hour with some history, some stories and deep knowledge. The most famous landmark on the outskirts of Clifton is the 76-metre-high Clifton Suspension Bridge, which crosses the Avon Canyon in Clifton to the Leigh Forest in Somerset North, and is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful bridges in the UK. Walking or cycling across the Suspension Bridge is free.

Across the Avon Canyon in Bristol, one of the world's first large-span suspension bridges, it was designed by talented designer and Victorian engineer Bru Nell in the 1830s and opened to traffic in 1864 after his death, when only passers-by and carriages were allowed. Now use it as a four-lane bridge. The bridge has a 214-meter main span, and the ratio of strength and density of the chain that was able to be used as the main cable at the time, only modern high-strength steel wire, so this is a very large span. The Clifton Suspension Bridge is the birthplace of modern bungee jumping, and on April 1, 1979, four members of the Hazardous Sports Club of Oxford University performed the world's first bungee jump on the Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol, using a single jump from the local 245ft tall Clifton Bridge The elastic rope flew off and opened the curtain of modern bungee jumping. Under the towering bridge is the Avon Canyon, densely jungled, and the scenery on the suspension bridge is enough to describe the shock. You don’t need to pay to walk in the past, and you need to pay £1 to drive there. At the other end of the canyon is Wales Wales. Our other car staged a section of the bridge in the old movie Bridge. Since the guide said that the bridge below the bridge "the other end of the canyon is Wales Wales", the misunderstand, thinking that the bridge is Wales, so the illusion of time and space occurred. So our most British-style driver sister, under the completely wrong guidance, chaos. Not only did we walk on the bridge twice, paid a bridge fee of £2, but it was the only charge on our trip, and we turned three times under the bridge. My sister said it was designed entirely according to the storyline of "The Bridge". Our family's meritorious driving sister said it was even better.
