Chongming Academy is located in Chengqiao Town, Chongming Island, just opposite Yingzhou Park. There are two tall arches on the left and right sides in front of the main entrance of Chongming Academy, both built in the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty. The east archway is engraved with "Tao Guan Ancient and Modern" and "Xue Hai" on both sides, while the west archway is engraved with "De Pei Tiandi" and "Chao Zong", full of Confucianism. Walking into the main entrance of the school, the star gate, the environment is quiet and quiet, you can see the statues of Confucius and the four disciples, as well as architectural landscapes such as stone bridges, ponds, and corridors. Chongming Academy is not big, and there are not many tourists. It is good to walk around here and feel the historical and cultural atmosphere. Chongming Museum currently has two exhibition areas, "Chongming Island History and Ancient Ships" and "Chongming Folk Customs", with rich exhibits. The Dacheng Hall is the main building of the Academy. It was originally the main place to worship Confucius. The ancient buildings on the east and west sides of the Dacheng Hall, the east and west sides, were originally the places where the tablets of Confucius' disciples and the Confucian scholars of the past dynasties were reserved. Now they have become exhibition halls. Showing the exhibition hall of "Chongming Island History and Ancient Ship Display", you can see a variety of models, sand tables, cultural relics and text descriptions, showing the construction, development and achievements of Chongming Island in all aspects. The two Tang and Song ancient ships on display here are unique and precious cultural relics in Shanghai, and can be called the treasures of the town hall. The Zunjing Pavilion in the Academy used to be a place for collecting Confucian classics, and the Chongsheng Temple was a place to worship Confucius' parents. Now these two buildings are the exhibition halls of "Chongming Folk Customs". Here you can see the layout of the market town, folk family rooms, as well as various farming, textile tools, folk costumes and wax figures, reproducing the work and life scenes of the people of Chongming. In addition, there are permanent exhibitions such as "Huang Pimo Art Museum" in the museum, which displays 60 exquisite prints created by the famous printmaker Mr. Huang Pimo (Chongming).
