千年古刹南山寺始建于唐朝,是漳州最著名的寺庙,香火鼎盛,但是要收门票。虽然这样,还是值得一看的,里面有著名的石佛,难得一见。元宝神游四海

Nanshan Temple is backed by Danxia Mountain in the south and faces the Jiulong River in the north. It was formerly known as "Baoyu Chongfu Temple". The existing buildings in the temple were rebuilt in the late Qing Dynasty and have the style of the Tang Dynasty. The historical monuments in the temple are named "Five Treasures of Nanshan Temple", which are a large bronze bell weighing more than 650 kilograms and a Buddha statue carved with stalagmites. A large bronze bell with a diameter of 3 feet 8 inches, a height of 5 feet 6 inches and a weight of more than 650 kilograms hangs on the left corner of the Mahavira Hall. It was originally cast in the Tang Dynasty, and was recast when the temple was expanded in the sixth year of Yanyou in the Yuan Dynasty (1319). The bell sounded so loud that it could be heard miles away. There is a stone Buddha pavilion on the left side of the Mahavira Hall. There is a huge stalagmite in the pavilion. A mason was hired to carve it into a statue of Amitabha. The Buddha statue with the lotus seat is as high as one zhang and six feet, with a beautiful shape, commonly known as the Big Stone Buddha. It is an art treasure of the Tang Dynasty many years ago. It is 6 meters high, and the whole stalagmite is more than 5 feet high. Most of it is buried in the ground, only about 2 feet above the ground.
