The environment and the sea view from the window are both beautiful. The hygiene is excellent, and there's a supermarket downstairs, which is very convenient for buying things. The only minor drawback is that using the washing machine costs extra, and there are no complimentary disposable toothbrushes or slippers.

We had a wonderful stay at the Leisure 1Bedroom Balcony Suites Gurney. The unit was exceptionally clean and very well maintained. The location is perfect and close to Gurney Plaza, eateries and everything we needed during our trip. The service was excellent, the staff were helpful, friendly and always ready to assist. Amenities were complete and convenient, making our stay very comfortable. The balcony view was definitely a bonus and made our family trip even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for families looking for a cozy, clean and convenient place to stay in Gurney. Would definitely come again!

Hotel is super clean and modern. Came with kitchen and microwave and dining table. Shower pressure was good and had hot water. The pool on the 36th floor whilst not huge, is very nice and refreshing and offers incredible views. It can get a tad crowded at times but its plenty big to enjoy. Check in was smooth, but the staff that check you in are not the staff that will help you with things you need. Your key card will have a phone number that you call when you need something. A bit confusing. Theres a shop for snacks and drinks in the lobby and the hotel is in a fantastic location near many hawkers, shops and sights. Theres free parking as well. Its one of the tallest buildings in the city so its easy to find. I’d definitely stay here again next time i’m in Penang.

The apartment at 22 Macalisterz is a great place to stay. It had many amenities eg a stunning swimming pool, gym and garden areas. It is centrally located close to restaurants, food court centre, cafes and museums. The apartment was modern and clean. I would recommend this place highly.

Nice new serviced residence in Penang, attached to a 5 star hotel. The view was spectacular, facilities were really nice. The unit was good, with plenty of pillows. No smart TV, bring your HDMI cable as there's only local TV channels. The unit could use more mirrors as only the master bedroom is spacious, and it's a relatively small unit for a 3 bedroom. The host was very responsive and helpful. They also have other units in other condos in Penang, will check them out next time.

Paying the deposit was a hassle. Hong Kong banks can't directly transfer, and WeChat Pay, which is required, isn't usable in Hong Kong. I ended up having to ask a friend in mainland China to pay it. To make matters worse, they can't refund it to the original WeChat account, insisting on sending it to a Hong Kong bank account instead. The only upside was that it was refunded to my HK account on the day of check-out. Getting the key was an adventure; I had to go down a flight of stairs to the parking lot mailbox, which felt a bit spooky. Luckily, it was still near dusk, so it wasn't too dark. The two TVs could be turned on but didn't receive any channels. In both rooms, we had to set the AC to 16 degrees and use a fan to get it cool enough. The living room, even with a fan, remained quite warm. The bathroom shower was only an overhead one, and controlling the hot and cold water was tricky. Thankfully, the water pressure was good. The drain was a bit slow, almost clogged, and one of the sinks wouldn't drain at all. Good thing there were two sinks. The floor looked a bit dirty, and overall, the facilities seemed poorly maintained. I hope they improve the equipment. The only positives were the excellent view from the window, perfect for sunrises and sunsets! There are plenty of restaurants downstairs and three convenience stores. Transportation is convenient, with Grab rides costing 10-15 MYR to places like Mural Street and the night market, and about 30 MYR to farther attractions like Penang Hill and Kek Lok Si Temple.

Location is good, right next to Gleneagles hospital, very convenient for doc appointments. The front desk was not so friendly though. Unit was good, rooms were nice, but there was no clothes hanging rack provided eventhough there was washing machine. So we had to find something else to use for hanging the washed clothes. TV got a big crack on it, so could not use TV at all. Not to mention TV was not a smart TV, unlike many other units in Mansion One. Will not recommend this unit to anyone, with that price you could get better option in Mansion One.

NO RECOMMEND! 1. Fan and aircond in the living room are very old. 2. Fan and aircond in the second room also quite old. 3&4 Blanket already torn but still provided for us to use. 5.First toilet got two shampoos, second toilet got one shampoo and one shower gel — how to wash body? Need to share or use shampoo as body wash. 6.Second toilet shower pipe leaking when using. 7. Washing machine cannot be used from third day. They said will come to fix, but need to wait long — end up have to bring clothes home to wash, LOL. 8. Saw baby cockroach inside the unit. 9. Power plug in the room is loose. 10.Toilet and room got no good smell. Also this, Not sure if you believe this — my cousin can see ghost. At night or sometimes in midnight, all of us smelled “bunga melati” (jasmine) scent. My cousin, who slept in bedroom 1, heard someone knocking the window loudly. After that, she slept in the living room instead. The smell came again, sometimes very strong and badly — all of us in the kitchen and living room could smell it. Quite creepy! Maybe because house besides the Hospital!

This hotel is perfect for families! It's spacious and comfortable. We'd definitely come back again. There are plenty of food options nearby too, like Nasi Kandar Kayu and Breakfast Bekal Cafe. It's also close to Bukit Jambul Complex. Really great! 👍

The room lacked basic toiletries like shaver and hand soap. We had to use the one from the shower cubicle each time we wanted to wash our hands. A disposable shaver would be great as these are the basic stuff we would not pack for travel. Our room on the 33rd floor was noisy as there were drilling they were testing the PA system. Once they announced for guests to evacuate the room and not to take the lift. We were totally shocked only to know later it was only a drill. Overall the experience didn’t give us a pleasant stay.

AAnonymous UserWas looking forward to my stay in Penang but was left disappointed. Imagine entering the toilet wanting to take relief but was greeted by strands of hair floating on the toilet bowl unflushed. How awesome was that, especially knowing that I paid RM 200 + per night. There were 2 rooms in total, with 1 facing the corridor. I was shocked when my room was well lit with lights off at 3 am in the morning. Who, in their correct mind, would install shades with no coverage, knowing damn well that the lights over the corridor are on overnight. To make matters worse, the extra bed in the room was a hindrance to the door. That's the maximum I can open without lifting the edge of the mattress. Did I also inform you that the rooms are not soundproof at all? Noises from the corridor, the living room and even from the other room can be heard clearly. It's definitely a big no no for light sleepers. While this may not be an issue pertaining to the homestay, I would also like to inform that the lifts are always packed, even during weekdays. We have no choice but to take the stairs down 14 floors after a 15-minute wait. So definitely plan well ahead if you have decided to stay here.

TTszHo778The day before your arrival, the room service will message you about key collection. Just show your check-in confirmation to the security guard downstairs, ask them to open the door, and grab your key from the left. Customer service will send you a comprehensive document; make sure to read it carefully, as it's very well-organized. The building is disinfected daily, and the elevators are kept clean. There's a Starbucks and a convenience store right downstairs. I was on the 22nd floor, and the noise wasn't too noticeable. The view was also quite good, and the room rate was incredibly reasonable—much better than what I experienced in Guangzhou. Unless you're staying in a high-end four or five-star hotel, I'd definitely recommend this type of serviced apartment for travel. If you're considering guesthouses in George Town and have high expectations for your accommodation, I wouldn't really suggest them. The motorcycle noise there is beyond imagination, and since it's a heritage area, their sewage system is quite old. However, if you're not particular, it can offer a unique charm. Overall, everything was great. The residents here are very friendly, and I never had to wait long for the elevator, contrary to what some online reviews mentioned. My longest wait was never more than 30 seconds. A local driver told me that this is a newer area, so the location isn't ideal for tourists if you want to walk everywhere; you'll need to take a taxi unless you're driving. But I personally found it quite good. If you plan on exploring, you'll need to taxi to George Town daily, which is usually about a 15-minute ride, so that's a bit of a downside. Otherwise, I'd choose this type of travel accommodation over a four or five-star beachfront hotel. I had a spacious apartment all to myself, which was fantastic. These are all my thoughts, and I hope they help with your decision.

GGuest UserDance is quite easy to find and feels very suitable for family trips. It has two rooms with two large beds, which is enough for a family of four. Shopping nearby is also very convenient, with many small supermarkets, a 7-Eleven, a pharmacy, and a cold night market, all within a 10-minute walk. Overall, it's pretty good.

GGuest UserWe had a truly pleasant stay at this suite. The unit was spacious, beautifully maintained, and very clean throughout. The bed was extremely comfortable, with fresh and clean sheets that made our stay even more relaxing. It was fully equipped with all the essential amenities, including a hair dryer, iron, microwave, refrigerator, electric stove, and even a washing machine — which made everything very convenient. The facilities were outstanding. There are several types of swimming pools, including a stunning infinity pool that offers a great view and relaxing atmosphere. The property also features a sauna room and a well-equipped gym, adding even more value to the overall experience. They also provided us with two parking spaces located conveniently near the elevator, which made it very easy for us to access the suite. The only minor downside is the parking entrance, as you need to drive up a spiral ramp until Level 10, which may feel a bit long for some drivers. On top of that, the price is very reasonable for what you get, especially considering the spacious suite and excellent facilities provided. The host was very responsive, friendly, and polite, ensuring smooth communication from start to finish. We would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay, and we would definitely choose to stay here again in the future.
