BbennyzzThis hotel is located midway between Fox Glacier and Lake Wanaka, with not much around it, though there's a bar and restaurant nearby that serves good local food. As for the hotel itself, it's a bit smaller and older compared to other New Zealand hotels, but it's well-maintained. Having a parking spot right outside the entrance was a huge plus, especially since it was raining that day, which made it super convenient.

GGuest UserGiven 1 for amenities as the bed was too soft and the shower was very weak and the temperature gauge was very tricky. Needed to be a plumber to set the optimum temperature.
The fridge did not work. the temperature gauge button was broken

JJ_W-The hotel's location was fantastic, right next to the glacier. The grounds are beautiful and well-maintained, but the hotel itself, including its furnishings, is quite dated. This is why I deducted points for the furnishings, especially since they weren't very clean (dirty kettle, broken refrigerator, iron covered in limescale). The room and bathroom, however, were clean. The service team was friendly but not very well-coordinated. The portion sizes were good, and the food tasted good. The restaurant could have been cleaner; there were still crumbs from breakfast on the windowsills in the evening. It's okay for a short stop, but it no longer meets modern standards.

GGuest UserThe receptionist who is a Hong Kong lady is very nice and provides detailed introduction of the whole town. Room clean and near with beautiful sea view, highly recommend.

GGuest UserClean and cozy. Parking just in front of room. However, during checkout in the morning, there was no one at the reception area. Waiting for 15mins. Looks like it is understaff with a single staff running the kitchen and the reception area. Need improvement in this area.

Hhhwb888The hotel is right next to the departure point for the Fox Glacier helicopter, and you can walk there after checking in. It rained when we came so we couldn't make the trip, but the hotel itself was pretty good and the room was large. The only drawback was that the water pressure was very low and the shower was not very comfortable. Breakfast is a Western-style buffet breakfast, which is not rich but enough to satisfy you. You can have dinner for white people at the whitepub coffee shop next to the hotel. It costs NZD 25-30 per person and the taste is okay. Hotels in Fox Glacier are generally expensive. After 11 days in New Zealand, this is the only one with a price over 1,000.

GGuest UserVery quaint historic hotel in the middle of Kumara, not far from Greymouth.
The room was clean and updated, as was the bathroom, with a great shower.
Only one disappointing feature was that we could hear the rain on the adjacent roof, but if it hadn’t rained, then it would be perfect. Lovely meal in the restaurant too!

GGuest UserA very good hotel. The concierge will provide free valet parking. The front desk staff are also friendly and enthusiastic. They will answer and satisfy all questions. The dinner is 5 courses and the service is also very good. I am very satisfied. I will stay here next time when I go to the west coast. Will choose.
