Overall it was a nice stay. The hotel is in a perfect location and it’s very cosy and peaceful. Reception staff was friendly and helpful. I was accommodated in a nice room with a pool and sea view. Faiz Haslan has also shared some information about the places to visit around, which was very helpful. Breakfasts were very nice, and there was a good food variety. Chinese New Year Eve’s dinner was excellent, great food variety and delicious. It would be good to have wifi available in the room and not only in the public areas.
The children’s pool with slides requires better maintenance, as insects were present. Parking is located quite far from the main area; however, buggy services are available and helpful. All staff members were very friendly, attentive, and supportive throughout our stay.
The room was spacious. Although we did not receive a full sea view—only a partial one—the scenery was still stunning. The ambience of the resort is very refreshing, with high ceilings and a breezy environment that creates a relaxing atmosphere. There are many activities available, and the resort is within walking distance to a beautiful beach. Swimming is not very suitable due to strong tides, but the soft sand makes it ideal for children to play.
There are two large pools: one specifically designed for children with slides, and another main pool where mini kayaks and floating flamingos are available for rent. The kids’ activity area is very creative, with games such as dam ular and various board games.
The breakfast buffet offered a good range of choices, although I had a better dining experience during a previous visit for work purposes. Unfortunately, room service dining was not satisfactory—the fries were soggy, the fried rice was overly oily, and the carbonara was average. There was also some confusion regarding a 20% insider discount, as we were initially informed it was applicable, but later told that the discount was only valid at Horizon Café not in room service. They should explain better :(
Overall, it was a pleasant stay, and with some improvements—particularly in maintenance and food quality—it could be an even better experience.
They have waterslides, which is great for kids! However, we were on the 2nd floor and there was no elevator, which could be a hassle if you have a lot of luggage. Of course, the staff there can help you with your bags. The Chinese restaurant across the street is super delicious; the chef, originally from Guangdong, is excellent at preparing seafood.
One of the best hotel you can get in Miri in terms of the price and room you're getting. Thanks hotel for fhe special upgrade and arrangement for our special day. Comfortable bed and pillows with stunning view. Definitely returning again when I am coming to Miri again.
*Room for improve for the bathroom part as there were mold and faulty smell from the bathroom sink.
My wife and I decided to spend a long weekend in Bintulu, a destination we had never explored before. As we had no prior experience with hotels there, we relied on Google reviews and chose this hotel based on its generally positive feedback.
The drive from Bintulu Airport took about thirty minutes, with very light traffic. Location wise, it was quite good. The hotel sits next to the waterfront, which became part of our morning routine as we enjoyed quiet walks overlooking the estuary.
The Spring Bintulu mall is also nearby, roughly a five minute walk, making it easy to access food and basic necessities.
The hotel carries an older character, but it is comfortable and reasonably priced. I liked the high ceiling in the lobby, which gave the space a more open feel. The welcoming drink during check in was a nice touch.
Initially, we were assigned a room on Level 2, but it had a noticeable smoking smell. After informing the staff, we were moved to a non smoking room on Level 3 without much hassle.
Our room was spacious and came with a full sized fridge. The view was rather ordinary, facing part of the lobby roof, but it did not bother us much since we were out most of the day. The bathroom was roomy with a bathtub, though the toilet flush was slightly slow.
The staff were polite and helpful, with special mention to Marcellinus at the reception. She was friendly, warm and consistently pleasant.
The hotel also offers parking, a small gym with basic equipment, a sauna and a modest swimming pool.
Overall, the stay was comfortable and practical, making it a reasonable option for visitors to Bintulu.
The unit where we stayed is clean, have a breathtaking full view of the sea. Miss Nisa is very helpful to inform me the unit that we supposed to stay according to my booking have problem with their air-conditioning. So she change it to another unit. We really enjoy staying at Bay Resort. We can brisk walk and sight seeing. There's a lot of Chinese restaurants nearby too. Its a great experience to us as this is our first time coming and staying in Miri. This place is recommended to travellers with families who loved beaches and love to listen to the sound of the waves.
The hotel's cleanliness and atmosphere were great, but the breakfast selection was really lacking. What surprised me was the outdoor pickleball court facing the sea – travelers who love pickleball would definitely enjoy it.
Wonderful experience staying in a tree house for the 1st time. Totally loved the concept, though the staircase was steep but the room is clean and comfortable.
The days we were there, it was raining. We had to ask for umbrella from the receptionist, however the lady who answered said they dont provide/lend umbrella.
Anyhow, once we reached the counter, the other receptionist allowed us to use the umbrella and we managed to to go out for our dinner.
Apart from the misunderstanding there rest of it as good! Will definitely come again, with more prepared.
Thanks once again
