Stayed at Citadines Tanjung Tokong Penang and had a pleasant experience overall.
The location is quite convenient, situated between George Town and Batu Ferringhi. It’s not right in the busy Georgetown area, which I actually appreciated for a quieter stay, but still easy to get around.
The room feels new and well-maintained, and the amenities are solid. One highlight for me was the shower. The water pressure is strong, which makes a big difference after a long day out.
They also provide complimentary parking for guests, which is very convenient if you’re driving.
Overall, a comfortable and value-for-money stay. Would consider coming back
We arrived at about 11am and managed to check in immediately which was a pleasant surprise! The room was really spacious and we loved that there is a filtered water tap within the room so we could refill our bottles easily and save money on buying bottled water.
The only bummer was that on our second day, there was a power shutdown from 10am to 2:30pm (which they informed us beforehand), but at the same time, the lifts were having maintenance (not informed on this) and we were stuck at our level (20 floors up) for about 20 to 30 mins. We were not able to take the stairs down as well which was abit frustrating as we were running late. So they could have better planned or better coordinated the schedules for the maintenance work.
But other than that, the rooms were really clean and the pool and gym were nice as well. The breakfast didn’t have many selection but it was decent. We loved that the hotel was just opposite the esplanade park too! Will stay here again!
Okay, it's cheap, but the location is actually quite far from Kampung Agong, even though it says it's only 11km on the booking. It took us 1 hour 40 minutes, almost 2 hours!
Our stay at Citadines Connect was fabulous. It was really quiet yet the location was nice and central (near lots of sights and great food places). We were lucky enough to be in block B which faces another building so there was literally no traffic noise and we barely noticed other travellers because of the insulation between rooms. The bathroom was very clean and serviced daily beautifully. The staff helped us a lot when trying to book our next steps of our journey to Ipoh. Finally, the infinity pool was a dream, particularly because we had it all to ourselves! Nothing quite like listening to the call to prayer while floating in a crystalline pool 4 floors you. This hotel was the best - highly recommended.
Strategic location, easy access to any hotspot especially local market with famous food court cecil market. Always love to stay in citadines hotel whenever i was in Penang, either citadines Cecil or citadines prai, always my first choice
This loft in the city center is relatively decent. It's perfectly located for all the attractions. The airport bus stop is just a 10-minute walk from the hotel. There are two large shopping malls nearby. A big thank you to the staff for letting us check in early. The bed linen was soft and the air conditioning worked perfectly. Shampoo and shower gel were provided for free. There's a water cooler (hot/cold) on the floor. The fridge worked great, and there was also a kettle and toaster in the room.
As for the downsides: The cleanliness of the room was so-so – dusty, with a somewhat worn-out renovation, and some noticeable dirt stains in places. The shower only had lukewarm water. There were no face towels. One of the bath towels had a stain. There were ants running around near the fridge, seemingly knowing where the food was, so make sure to put all your food straight into the fridge. I left a biscuit on the table and ants swarmed it. There are no double-glazed windows, and since our room faced the street, we could hear passing cars perfectly. It's tolerable for a night or two, but not for any longer.
Excellent hotel with a great location. The room is spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped with many facilities. I really appreciate the free latte, and the elevators are fast and efficient. Having a kitchen in the room is a big plus and makes the stay even more convenient. The bathroom amenities are also excellent—the shampoo and body wash smell amazing and feel premium quality.
I’ve stayed here many times and have always had a great experience. Definitely one of my favorite hotels, and I will certainly come back again in the future. Highly recommended!
My second stay here and I really love this place. Spacious appartment with beautiful view and all amenities incl washing machine and dryer. Very pleasant to have spacious terrace with such a nice view, loved to sit here. Short distance to Georgetown (10 min by Grab or there is also a bus in front of the buidling). They also have a the 'spread cafetaria' where you can eat a delicious breakfast. I will defenitily come back here.
Pros: The facilities are pretty good, with a coffee machine, water dispenser, and a kitchen for cooking. It's about an 8-minute walk to a small beach, though it might not be great during high tide. The owner is very welcoming and always ready to help. You can see the sea from the room, and the sunrise is beautiful. The environment is lovely, and there's a laundry room available.
Areas for improvement: I heard it's an old house, so naturally, there are some critters. I saw a large mouse in the yard. The dining area is quite remote. Cenang Beach is very commercialized, and the nearby small beach isn't ideal for swimming, though it's good for scenery. Mosquitoes and insects are common, so I suggest putting a mosquito killer in the room – I was woken up by bites. The WiFi is a bit spotty and keeps buffering. The owner tried to fix the TV, but it still didn't work. The place is quite spacious, suitable for families. The bathroom doesn't have a separate wet and dry area, making it a bit slippery, so you need to be careful. It has a vintage guesthouse style.

GGuest UserThe host speaks Chinese, and check-in is self-service. The environment is pretty good, just like the photos. The shower has hot water and excellent water pressure, making it great value for money. They don't provide toothbrushes or toothpaste, so remember to buy them at a convenience store.
