The hotel was good but it was a bit outdated for sure. It has the vintage kinda vibe and it's located in a very quiet neighborhood. But there's a snooker and other games to play around down the lobby so it can get a bit noisy but bearable. Overall it was actually a kinda good and peaceful stay. The amenities provided were okay but the stove is old fashioned so it needs to be careful when using
Kim Haus is a quant lodging laced with a past life character in the goldsmith business when it was thriving in an earlier era. Unsurprisingly to some, Kim is not a name but has the pronunciation of gold in the Cantonese dialect. On abundant display within the building are interesting smithing tools and contraptions at different areas. The lodging not only offers comfortable clean and affordable stay but also near the conveniences of various traditional and westernised eateries, cafes, laundry, dessert aficionados. Suitable for those who wants to choose a casual lodging to explore the city. The service is responsive and super friendly.
My biggest regret about staying at this B&B was only booking one night. I really wish I had stayed longer, and I'll definitely be back if I get the chance!
The environment here is fantastic. Waking up and drawing back the curtains to see the ocean was pure bliss. It's also very close to Tanjung Rhu Beach, where you can catch a great fireworks show.
The owner was incredibly thoughtful, recommending nearby restaurants and beaches, and even sharing some beautiful spots we hadn't discovered ourselves. Staying here felt so free and comfortable, just like being at home.
Overall, it was a truly wonderful stay. I highly recommend everyone stay for more than just one night – we only stayed a single night and didn't even have time to explore the night market, which was such a shame. I honestly feel like this area is much more enjoyable than George Town city center!
The place was clean and big, super comfortable for our family of 10. Parking was sufficient for our two cars and the owner was responsive to our messages. Check in was breezy and the house was located strategically in the middle of Georgetown.
Overall a great place to stay in Penang.
