Overall Experience: ⭐⭐⭐⭐½ (4.5/5)
Overall, I had a very pleasant stay at Citadines Tanjung Tokong. The check-in process at Level 2 was smooth and fast, with excellent service from all staff members. No deposit was required, which made the process even more convenient.
The room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The bed and pillows were soft and provided a good night’s sleep. The room was well-equipped with two air-conditioning units (bedroom and kitchen area), Smart TV, ironing facilities, refrigerator, work desk, dining table and sufficient power outlets.
The bathroom was spotless with strong water pressure and consistent hot and cold water temperature. Toiletries and towels were fully provided.
Hotel facilities were great. The swimming pool on Level 15 offers a nice city and bay view. A gym, washing machines, vending machines and towels are also available. WiFi speed was fast and suitable for work purposes. Elevators were fast, clean and comfortable.
Minor downsides include some noise from traffic and ambulance sirens, as well as a slightly slow automated parking system during peak hours.
The location is very convenient with easy access to food and nearby stores such as 99 Speedmart, Lotus’s and Happy Mart.
Overall, this hotel offers excellent value for money under RM500. Highly suitable for solo travellers, business trips and small families. Would definitely stay again.

Ascott Gurney Penang exceeded my expectations in terms of comfort, cleanliness, and overall experience.
What made the stay even more memorable was the exceptional service from Mr. Khoo Min Jie. He went above and beyond to ensure everything was well taken care of. His attentiveness, professionalism, and warm hospitality truly stood out.
Staff like him are a great asset to the hotel. Thank you for making my stay such a wonderful one.
Location is just 3min walk from a Duck meat Koay Teow Teng where locals go. 15min walk from New Lane food street for dinner and lots of TSP stores that locals go to within a radius of 5 min walk. Despite near to all these nice shops, it is quiet enough to rest. The counter staff are also friendly, especially Amirul. Despite putting on mask, Amirul lots of warmth and hospitality. Truly enjoyed the stay at this hotel.
Traveling with family, the room size was adequate, and the facilities were comprehensive. Although we didn't get a corner room as requested, it was quiet enough, so our rest was satisfactory. The clothes rack couldn't be removed for separate use, which was a bit inconvenient.
There was no bottled water in the room, but there was a water dispenser in the hallway. The hotel had a pool, but we didn't use it.
The location was great, with two shopping malls a short walk away, making it easy to buy things. It was also not far from the '7th Street Pasar' (market). Most attractions were within walking distance, and taxis were readily available.

It's OK, cost-effective, and a good place to stay. It's very nice. The owner is good, not bad, and suitable for a budget-friendly trip!
I found the place by chances but it was the best decision. Our initial booking on Airbnb was cancelled by host last minute. My boys loved the amenities...pool, ping pong table, dart etc. The atmosphere was cool and nice. My husband loved that there is parking in the premises. I loved the bed. After a long drive I fell asleep like a baby. The unit is spacious and airy. It has netflix! Loved it and from now on this place will be our choice in Penang island.
This is really an excellent place to stay. The rate is very reasonable. The apartment was clean and the amenities provided were good. The apartment was spacious. The location is superb with the Penang Bridge a short distance away. There are many restaurants all around as well as food courts.
Velamundl was my favorite hotel during this trip, perfectly embodying the poetic imagery of 'facing the sea, with spring blossoms blooming.'
This hotel has a rich history, dating back to the British colonial era. The current decor respectfully preserves its original vintage charm, maintaining a 'repair-as-is' approach rather than overtly modernizing. If you're a fan of retro Nanyang style, this hotel is an absolute must-stay.
The surroundings are equally captivating. You can take a leisurely stroll to Miami Beach (pictured in image four), where you'll find a less crowded, long stretch of sand to enjoy the island scenery all to yourself. Alternatively, for just a few dollars (around ten yuan), you can take a taxi to the famous Batu Ferringhi Beach to watch fireworks and traditional sparkler displays.
If you've grown tired of the old town's sights, I highly recommend giving this place a try.
Great stay & peaceful environment. Thks Ardour Lodge if gt a chance will return back stay again.
Nice room with external private bathtub & landscape pool.
Although the photos and reality were different, the window-less rooms were still adequate for comfortable staying. We stayed for 3 nights in a level 4 deluxe double room and level 3 double room, all ensuite with bathrooms. Due to the lack of exhaust fans and windows, the internal bathrooms can cause dampness and a smell but that was ok for us. A pet friendly Guesthouse (many of our neighbours had dogs but they were very quiet and well managed). Now managed by 3 service staffs who do everything. A retro but working games machine at the ground floor was a delight for my kids. Free laundry & dryer and a simple fitness corner are useful amenities. The highlight is actually the location of this guesthouse - within walking distance, there are numerous dim sum outlets, night time street foods, noodles shop, bakery and a sports bar just across the road. Will stay again, anytime, for my next visit.
