Follow Luxun to Shaoxing，from Baicaoyuan to Sanwei Bookstore

Luzhen is a rural town theme park restored in accordance with Lu Xun’s fictional “Luzhen.” You can find Shaoxing games such as “treasure hunt,” “pitching,“ and “rings,” where you may be interested in playing more than one. There is a double-sided stage in the center of Luzhen where you can watch social dramas while enjoying wine. The actors in Luzhen Street wearing costumes and playing Lu Xun’s characters create a living landscape. Lu Xun was born here and spent the entirety of his teenage years here until he was 18 years old and went to Nanjing to study. The building is part of the Zhoujia Xintai Gate. It is a unique deep-house compound in Jiangnan. There are many things in it that are from the respective year. When walking through the jet-black Shanghai Gate, pass through the corridor and arrive at the “Osmamthus courtyard” Two osmamthus plants were originally planted there, and Lu Xun often laid on a small bench under the tree to enjoy the coolness as his grandmother waved a banana fan and told him stories. “The Fall of the Leifang Pagoda”recalls a memory where this story happened.

The Sanwei Bookstore is located in the scenic area of Lu Xun’s hometown. It used to be a famous private school in Shaoxing City in the late Qing Dynasty. Lu Xun studied here for 5 years in his youth. When coming here, People always have to recount the words in the text "From Baicaoyuan to Sanwei Bookstore,” as well as the story where Lu Xun scratched “early” into lower right corner of the desk. In the middle of the bookstore is a table that can sit 8 people, with the tall back chair being where the teacher sat, surrounded by the students’ desks. Behind the former residence of Lu Xun, Baicaoyuan is located behind Lu Xun’s former residence. This was the place where Lu Xun played when he was a child. The purple mulberry is also there, falling to the ground after it matures. Eating the ones you pick up is like being taken down memory lane. There is a large park in the grass garden. The small garden is in the north, with a door leading to the East Xianhua River. There is a mud wall that is 44 m long and 1 m high to the south and north. At the southern end of the mud wall, that is, bordering the corner of the back door of Lu Xun’s house, there is a boundary stone engraved with the words ”ridge boundary” This boundary stone and stack were called the “infinitely interesting short mud wall,” a name which has remained to this day.

Lu Xun’s ancestral home, also known as the “Zhoujia Laotai Gate”, sits to the north and faces south, boasting a 250-year history and one of the most well-preserved Qing Dynasty buildings in Shaoxing. The entire Taimen covers an area of nearly 3,000 square meters and is a typical bureaucratic residence in Jiangnan. It consists of a four-door entrance, a hall, a incense hall, and a rear building, with everything having its box. During the Shaoxing period, Lu Xun had to go to Laotaimen for ceremonies and special visitations during festivals or days when ancestors were to be remembered.

Lu Xun’s memorial hall was designed with the ideal of “old home, new spaces.” The exterior of the memorial hall bears the architectural form of Shaoxing Taimen, while the main entrance adopts the traditional bamboo wire door of Shaoxing. The garden of the exhibition hall mainly holds, camphor, pine, orchid, and plum flowers. Additionally, and according to Lu Xun's "Dawn Blossoms Plucked at Dusk", the jujube, acacia, mulberry, wood lotus and raspberry varieties were selected to reproduce Lu Xun's environment. The memorial recorded the life story of Mr. Lu Xun in detail.It is divided into Lu Xun’s time in Shaoxing (1881-1897), Lu Xun’s time Nanjing, Japan, and Shaoxing (1898-1912), Lu Xun’s time in Beijing, Xiamen, Guangzhou (1912—1927), Shanghai (1927—1936), and the national pride.

The restaurant mentioned in Lu Xun's "Kong Yi Ji" has become a tourist destination Shaoxing. The statue of Kong Yiji standing at the door seems to have become a signboard.
