"The hotel's location was excellent; I'd say it offered great value for money. It was a 7-minute walk from the train station and a 10-minute walk from the main squares. What I didn't like about the hotel was that there was a smell similar to a toilet immediately after getting into the elevator. Another thing I didn't like was that despite the cold weather, there was a fan directly above the bed constantly blowing cold air."

"It was a very pleasant and cozy hotel. The check-in is at the bar around the corner. The shared bathroom is used by 3 rooms on the floor which is not too bad. The location is great as well - close to the train station and about 1 km from the city centre and the area around the hotel is very nice and clean as well. Would definitely stay here again"

GGuest UserWe stayed 6 nights, two of us.
Location was outstanding right on the square near the city centre, <15 minutes from train station (with luggage it’s a bit unpleasant but definitely doable, paved paths and nice routes.). You can also take many buses to the hotel just one stop if necessary.
Room was wonderful sadly I don’t have better pictures! Very cozy. If any complaint it would be that it was quite dark if it was cloudy or come night time even with all the lights turned on it was quite low lighting.
Bathroom was clean and good water pressure. Tissues and toiletries.
If you opted out of housekeeping for the day you would receive a voucher for a drink at the bar which could also be used for soft drinks which we found a very practical option.
The biggest complaint was the breakfast for 23€ /per person per day it was not worth it. The waffles were quite hard and a disappointment.
On a positive note: There was fresh juices and juice “shots”, a small selection of cereals, a yogurt bar, a salad bar, some fresh fruit (the apples had been squished in the container and had seen better days), some deli meats and cheeses, a hot bar of some standard breakfast dishes involving egg and potato and the lot.
Service was lovely everyone was quick and polite!
Overall very satisfied and if you already paid for breakfast no problem but if not I’d suggest you skip it and eat elsewhere. ❤️🇧🇪
GGuest UserThe hotel is very easy to find, business trip to Bruges, is a beautiful city, the hotel is very close to the city center, very convenient. The hotel's breakfast is very good and there is a small pool.
GGigz_Had an unforgettable day in Bruges! This hostel is great overall. The front desk staff were really nice, and even though the toilets and showers are shared, they were very clean and plentiful. You can cook in the shared kitchen, and since the hostel is in a street-front house, you can always step outside to sit by the door and enjoy the breeze – very chill!
GGuest UserThe hotel is beautiful I am very happy with it but there's a little dust that's still bit the lamps in the room and because I'm allergic to the small dust so I need to use my pups for my ashma. The rest I'm very good and I'll get it back to the hotel, but I want to check it first if everything is clean for me.
I'll advise my friend and friends to stay at this hotel.
Goodbye,
Anna
GGuest UserThe hotel is a bit old, but it's clean and well-equipped. The room was small, and the outlets were inconveniently located near the floor. It's super quick to get to the station – just turn left after exiting! To get to Bruges city center, it's about a ten-minute walk. The Basilica of the Holy Blood was quite unique. I stumbled upon a market and found some really cheap food like grilled pork chops, chicken legs, and pork knuckles – I ate my fill! There's a Carrefour Express downstairs; things aren't particularly cheap, but they have 500ml cokes for €0.50, which is a good deal!
NNeilJHotel Portinari in Bruges is a gem! The modern design is both stylish and inviting, creating a lovely atmosphere. My room was comfortable and well-appointed, making it a perfect retreat. The location is excellent, within walking distance of the city’s main attractions. The friendly staff added to the overall positive experience. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Bruges!
GGuest UserThe location is excellent and it is very convenient to go to various attractions. If you drive yourself, it is a bit difficult to get in and out of the hotel. The car is clearly parked next door, but it took half an hour to get to the hotel entrance (one-way street + road closure)
GGuest UserMy partner and I had one of the mansion suites on the 3rd floor. Although our room didn’t have a view it was spacious and comfortable. The toiletries smelt divine.
The bed and pillows were super comfy.
Staff are friendly.
Breakfast was plentiful with a good variety of fruit and fresh juices / smoothies. Customised omelettes were made.
The hotel itself is boutique, contemporary and in a good location to Brugge Train Station, buses and also all the main attractions. It is nestled down a quiet street but still close enough to main attractions.
You have waffles and fresh potato fries shops within a minute walk from the hotel, including a supermarket if you need anything.
AAnne LiekeWe had a nice time at Talbot House. The big plus is the historic value of the place, as we visited the area to learn more about WWI. So amazing to be able to explore the house and talk to the volunteer working here. Other things we liked were the friendly service and breakfast. Also big plus we could bring our dog, staying in the garden house.
With the cold whilst we were there, not having central heating was a bit of a struggle as the aircon is only on during the afternoon/evening and harder to set to a consistent temperature. Also the shared bathroom’s window couldn’t be closed, so absolutely freezing to go to. Last, our room was on the small side and felt a bit cramped especially with our dog. But overall good value for money.
GGuest UserPOS: very central location 50 mtr from casino and beach; historical building with old charm; quite big but with a family atmosphere; (my) room recently renovated; pleasant bar area; quiet; considering location reasonably priced.
NEG: elavator super slow, tiny and shaky at times (7 floors); bathroom good but shower itself clumsy; staff could use some extra training > in 4 days' stay there was always something not done or missing, and worst of all in spite of plenty of mgmt messages to save energy, in 2/4 days we came back late night and aircon had been switched on (by staff, not us), on a day it was barely 20 degrees, meaning complete waste of energy, and cost.
