Overall a good experience with this hotel. Stayed here for 3 nights. There is a hot spring in hotel level 2. Bed and pillow was comfortable. Room was slightly small but cozy. Worth the price paid for.

The hotel's location is great, and the rooms are clean and spacious. They offer free parking, and the breakfast selection is quite good and tasty. It's very convenient, as most attractions are within a few kilometers. There are also many yakitori and yakiniku restaurants nearby, and an Aeon supermarket is just a few hundred meters away. The hotel even provides a shuttle bus to JR Isetan department store. This hotel offers excellent value for money; the free parking alone saves you about 100 yuan a day. Highly recommended!

The hotel is a nice stay but with some obvious shortcomings. The main drawback was breakfast. For a four-star hotel, the breakfast was underwhelming: bland taste, and things that should be hot, like tempura and harsh brown, were all cold. It was not vegetarian-friendly, esp in the hot savoury section. I mentioned this to the hotel, who confirmed their lack of accommodation for vegos. The window to the bathroom also stays slightly bright thru the night, so it might affect light sleepers. Otherwise the location is fantastically close to Kyoto station with many nice restaurants nearby, easy bus access to the shrines, and the onsen was pretty decent. Laundry is free as long as you purchase the detergent.

Hotel location wise a 10 min walk to Shi-jyo the high street of Kyoto and a 20 min walk to Kyoto Station.
It is on Karasuma a major N-S street in Kyoto chess-board like -city plan, with metro stations and bus stops within walking distance and easy to get around to tourists sights.
The hotel has a big dining area for breakfast and the staff attentive and helpful. The room is clean and provided with pyjamas instead of Japanese yukata.
There is a bicycle rental shop Sunshine, 5 min walk away. Major road in Shij-jyo has strict hours where bicycle is not to enter

The room, while not large, was very well-designed. It was clean and hygienic, equipped with a small fridge and a safe, and the soundproofing was quite good. My room's orientation meant that the noise from motorbikes speeding down the main road at night wasn't much of an issue. The location is absolutely fantastic; you can drop off your shopping and head back out. There are 7-Eleven and FamilyMart convenience stores nearby, and directly opposite is the Bal department store. Just a short walk away, you'll find Uniqlo, Loft, Don Quijote, Takashimaya, and Nishiki Market... There are several bus stops for various routes nearby, and both Keihan and JR train stations aren't far. Plus, there are plenty of great restaurants. Overall, I highly recommend it. For those who are light sleepers, I'd suggest bringing an eye mask and earplugs.
The room was quite spacious, especially for Kyoto standards. Laundry facilities were very convenient, and we all appreciated the complimentary tea, coffee, and soda. They even offered free face masks in the evenings, and after a long day of sightseeing, a relaxing bath was a real treat. The location is superb: the JR station is directly across the street. A taxi ride to Kinkaku-ji takes just ten minutes and costs less than 200. It's also incredibly convenient for visiting Arashiyama, the Railway Museum, Shijo, and Kyoto Station. Nijo Castle is even within walking distance. For everyday needs, there's an affordable supermarket called 'Live' right opposite. And if you're looking for an IMAX experience, there's a cinema in the mall just across from the JR station. The sushi restaurant within that mall is also very popular with locals.

The room isn't small, it's very clean, and the view is great too! The staff are all super enthusiastic, speak English, and there's even a front desk attendant who speaks Chinese. There's a hot spring bath on the 13th floor ♨️, soaking in it after a day of exploring is just the best! The hotel's location is also excellent, with bus routes 80 and 5 nearby, and Gojo subway station is also close, just one stop from Kyoto Station. The surrounding area is lovely, quiet yet centrally located. Highly recommend!!

Conveniently located near the JR Shinkansen line and right next to Don Quijote, this hotel offers rooms that are quite spacious for Japan and excellent value for money. Upon check-in, we also received two complimentary homemade cookies from the hotel. They also offer luggage delivery directly to your room.

This hotel is great! The room size is decent, and I absolutely loved the self-service amenity bar—they even provide hair oil. Having such a spacious bathroom in Japan is a real plus, and the bathtub made for a relaxing soak every day. The breakfast selection is also quite good; the beef bowl and curry were delicious. Just a short walk downstairs is Avanti, where I got to see the Hikaru no Go original art exhibition, which was super convenient. The first time you leave Kyoto Station, you might get a bit lost, but if you remember to head for the East Hachijo Exit (JR and subway lines) and then go through Avanti, the hotel is just a few steps away.

The room was spotless and well-equipped, though the space was quite limited. The staff were truly considerate; I wasn't sure how to sort the fruit, yogurt, and instant noodle packaging from my child's meal, and a hotel employee simply handed me a trash bag and offered to take care of it. For breakfast at the restaurant, the steak was my favorite, and my child enjoyed it too.

Very Good
GGuest UserThe hotel is quite a distance from both the subway station and the main shopping street, making shopping quite inconvenient. Even the bus stop requires about a 100-meter walk and crossing an overpass. They offer a public bathhouse with separate sections for men and women. The water was quite clean, and it felt incredibly relaxing to soak in after a long day of walking. My room, located on the 9th floor, had a distinct urine-like odor when the air conditioning was turned on. The smell only dissipated after I used the air purifier. The included buffet breakfast had a rather limited selection of items. On a positive note, there's an excellent ramen shop located right downstairs from the hotel, which is definitely worth a visit.
XXingfudeyanyanI was extremely satisfied with my stay this time. The room was prepared exactly as I requested, which I really appreciated. My room included executive lounge access, offering snacks, drinks, coffee, tea, and alcohol – a great place to sit and relax. The room facilities were meticulously maintained, and all appliances were quiet. My only minor complaint was the hairdryer, which was a bit old-fashioned and took a long time to dry my hair. The hotel staff, including the front desk and shuttle service, were exceptionally professional, very considerate, and provided excellent, personalized service. The shuttle bus stop at Kyoto Station is located behind the station, near the Hachijo East Exit, in the area where taxis and buses pick up passengers. It runs conveniently from 8 AM to 8:30 PM. You can see the exact location in my last two photos.

Great
IiamnotdelicateThe basic room type isn't in the main building; you have to walk up to the main building each time to have breakfast or soak in the onsen (hot spring). And it's not a real onsen; my friend's superior room was the real onsen. We were given a small room at the back of the hotel, but thankfully there weren't too many graves.
When I asked the staff at the entrance to take photos for me, they were very reluctant and had a sour face. At night, on my way back to my room from my friend's, the receptionist on duty in the lobby was also very rude. Overall, I was dissatisfied with the service.
The facilities are excellent, very new, and the hotel is quite small, but that's typical for Japanese hotels. The decor is also very nice; the aesthetics are on point.
There are at least three cemeteries and a bunch of shrines nearby; bring some amulets if you like.
RReyajWe recently stayed at NOHGA HOTEL KIYOMIZU KYOTO and had a very pleasant experience. The rooms were very spacious, clean, and comfortable throughout our stay. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Most importantly, the hotel’s location is excellent: just a short walk to the scenic Higashiyama area and easily accessible from the station. A great base for exploring Kyoto.
GGuest UserThe hotel is incredibly close to Kyoto Station, with Exit 5 offering the most convenient access. The room was very quiet and cleaned daily. While disposable toiletries are not provided, there are plenty of USB charging ports. It's also very near Isetan and Yodobashi Camera. Getting to the airport, though it involves passing through Kyoto Station, is also very convenient.

KKuailedexiaoyaojingwxgThe location is the biggest advantage, right inside the JR train station. Kyoto Theater is downstairs from the hotel. Across the street is Isetan, and downstairs is the Porta shopping mall, which has countless dining options. In front of the station, there are taxi and bus stops. Behind the station are various long-distance bus terminals and hotel shuttle stops, as well as the airport shuttle station. The entire commercial area is well-designed, and the hotel is perfectly situated within it. The room size is generous, allowing 2-3 large suitcases to be laid flat. The bathroom features a wet/dry separation, and the toilet has its own private space. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit.

GGuest UserOnline hotel bookings can often feel like a blind box draw, but Dusit Thani was definitely the right pick. Every staff member I encountered had an excellent attitude, the room was spotless, and even though the turndown service only provided a bottle of water, it was a pleasant and thoughtful touch. Thai brands truly excel in their service consciousness and aesthetic sense. The room itself was incredibly comfortable, and with no other guests in the public lobby areas, I thoroughly enjoyed the bliss of reading a book alone.

MM4805****The room wasn't very big, and it definitely wasn't the 32.4 square meters I booked. When I talked to the front desk, they just said it was the largest room they had. With a double bed and a sofa bed, there was very little floor space left. I contacted Trip.com customer service, but the hotel still insisted it was 32.4 square meters. There was nothing more I could do, as I had several meetings there for a few days, so I just made do. The hotel environment itself is quite nice, with a Wabi-sabi aesthetic, and the surrounding streets are very quiet. Not too far away, there's a bustling commercial street, making it a peaceful spot amidst the lively area. The restaurant has a beautiful ambiance. Many thanks to Trip.com customer service for their active help in trying to resolve the issue.
GGuest UserThe room size was barely adequate. The idea of having a separate vanity, shower, and toilet was good in theory, but the design was flawed, making it very inconvenient to place toiletries. The floor had a strange odor—neither pleasant nor foul—I couldn't tell if it was from floor polish or something else. I initially thought it was the smell from my own feet after a long day of walking.
The hotel claims to be eco-friendly, so many toiletries weren't provided, likely because there simply wasn't enough space. The service was mediocre; they didn't even replenish the bottled water when cleaning the room on the second day. After visiting several cities, I've come to realize that it's better to choose established hotels for good service and experience. Design-oriented hotels often look good but aren't practical.
The biggest advantage of this hotel is its excellent location with convenient transportation access. Shopping is extremely convenient, with Takashimaya right next door and plenty of other places to shop and many restaurants. Of course, the foot traffic is enormous, and the street can be noisy at night, so those with light sleep should think twice before booking.
