Thongbay Guesthouse

This hotel has special meaning to me so I won't give a low score. But the impression of the little girl who may be the boss at the front desk is very common, and I hope she can't understand this passage. Don't trouble me when I stay next time. The breakfast is really good, and sitting on the terrace to eat breakfast is the most enjoyable moment.

The room is very spacious, can sleep three people, but I sleep alone. The room is clean, but the bathroom may have been renovated recently and has a slight smell of paint. The owner is Chinese. The price of this accommodation is not expensive compared to the room, it is very worthwhile, not far from Luang Prabang. It is still in the Luang Prabang area, easy to travel. The caretaker is Chinese, can speak a little Lao, can use Google translate to talk. At midnight, the caretaker will come to wait to close the door. Open in the morning, there is a car park with a seat in front of the house. It feels like a house, but the alley has five rooms for customers. In conclusion, I have to stay another night. I will book here for another night. In conclusion, this is another recommended place to stay. It is worthwhile, not expensive, has a car park, not crowded, clean, new bedding, new bathroom equipment.

We spent 3 nights in this small hotel. The rooms are correct, clean but very spacious. The staff is very nice and despite the language barrier, try to satisfy us as best as possible. We have to order the evening if we want eggs. Otherwise we are a group of 12 people, the only on the hotel, and a certain lack of organisation despite the good will of the hotel. The hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable. The hotel is located along a street, so a little noise but the location is interesting for walking, visiting etc.. correct stay

The quadruple room we booked was actually on the entire first floor. Except for the lack of lighting in the bathroom, everything else was great. The location of the B&B is also very good, in a small alley next to the Mekong River, very quiet. It's right next to the Grand Palace, just a three-minute walk away. There is a night market on the street in front of the Grand Palace. Opposite the entrance of the Grand Palace is the entrance to Puxi Mountain. Maifo Temple next to the Grand Palace has alms from 5:30 to 6 o'clock in the morning. There is also a morning market to visit in the morning. It’s very convenient to go anywhere. It’s a very, very recommended hotel. The only drawback is that there are people raising chickens next to us, and the roosters will crow in the morning, but we have a good sleep and will not be disturbed by these.

Nice location! The staff isn’t welcoming and they don’t stay in the counter. You can not really find them when you need them. They don’t leave phone number for you to connect too. If you rent the motobike, you have to park in other places; their staffs will help parking the motobike for you. But you could not find the staff most of the time. 😂 I don’t recommend to stay there.

1️⃣Address: The hotel is located on the bank of the Mekong River, and the location is easy to find. There are various restaurants, bars and morning markets just outside. 2️⃣Hygiene and environment: The public areas of the room are clean and tidy, the quilts smell super good, the atmosphere in the lobby is very good, and there are mostly young Chinese people. 3️⃣Other facilities: There is a public kitchen and drying area, a washing machine, you can boil water to make coffee, and there is a dedicated dining table, which is thoughtful. 4️⃣Service: I encountered some minor problems on the way, and I immediately called the boss. She came to pick us up in person, and arranged the room in advance according to the needs, and turned on the air conditioner, which shows that she pays attention to details. Especially after I left, I found that I had left an eye cream. After I contacted the hotel again, I helped me communicate with the new guests, and the service was consistent with the service when I checked in, and found my items and delivered them to me. If I have the opportunity, I will come back again, and I strongly recommend it to local friends!

What a find! Away from the main street although easily walkable to the night market and bars and restaurants. Carefully prepared breakfasts which we both enjoyed. Rooms are large and individually decorated, cleaned daily. Really loved the beautiful decor. Service was excellent. Any query was answered fully and suggestions for activities and restaurants given if and when required. There was a lovely pool area with beds and chairs too. All in all I would thoroughly recommend this boutique hotel for families or couples.

Had a wonderful stay here -- it's a small, family run B&B-style hotel within easy walking distance from town. The rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated, although for a view you need to stay upstairs (downstairs rooms are a bit dark). Highlights included the friendly staff, amazing breakfast (which is included), free water (which was very helpful given the hot weather at this time of year) and efficient laundry service. They also kindly stored a bag of mine for two nights while I was out trekking on a tour. Would certainly stay again, it's a great deal for a wonderful hotel!

The guest house is well located a block back from the river and a few blocks from the night market (less than 10 mins walk). It’s in a quiet back street so no traffic noise. It’s all dark wood so a little squeaky as you move around and there is some noise from neighbouring rooms. The room was small with a balcony alongside your neighbours, that can be a downside if like us your neighbours have 4 little kids. All was very clean and the hot water worked ok. There’s a nice communal balcony with free coffee and use of a fridge. We slept okay but the mattress was quite uncomfortable. In the morning you can hear drumming from a nearby monastery at first light and also Alan starts shouting about 4am. Who’s Alan? He’s the talking cat. Very amusing during the day, but less so in the middle of the night! We stayed 4 nights and were happy enough but I felt it was a little expensive by Laos standards. We paid £23 per night and I’d say a fiver less would be more appropriate.

We have just spent 4 fantastic nights at Liberty Place. The owners are so so lovely and friendly, they can’t do enough for you. The rooms are lovely and spacious. We had our breakfast on the balcony outside which was nicely set out and decorated. The location is great right in the centre of Luang Prabang, near to the night markets and not far from the Mekong River. We did not use the bicycles however they are free to use and we used their laundry service which was done very quickly. They helped us with a situation one of our friends were in and helped book a tuk tuk when they were lost near the waterfalls without any transport. They went above and beyond to help get our friends back to their hostel when they had no way of getting back! We booked our train tickets to Vang Vieng through the guesthouse. Great price and extremely helpful. There were also other tickets, tours and trips that could also be booked as well. We would highly recommend Liberty Place for anyone travelling to Luang Prabang and we would certainly stay again.
