Hostels in Guizhou, China

Excellent location adjacent (10 min walk) to bus stops that can get you to the HSR train station, and to the bus station where you can catch a bus to the big waterfall- Huangguoshu Waterfall. Hostel owner was willing to drive me to the big bridge for the bungee jump; for a fee (it's about a 2-hour drive- Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge. Place is otherwise in good walking-distance to the Confucius place, and the Lake, and the main market streets. Living room area is amazing with 20-foot floor to ceiling windows, spiral staircase, and street view. Hardwood floors. Responsive manager.

Great location as the hotel is conveniently located footsteps away from the train station which is about 8 stations away from the airport. It was also at a little vibrant area where there were a small food street/alley by the popular canal and a food centre right downstairs that opened till late. My room was big for a solo female which was pleasantly nice and a good change from the small rooms. A toilet area where basin, toilet bowl and bath were separated, bedroom with a sitting area. Television was spoilt though, which I was not informed of when I checked in, so when I came back early with food delivered wanting to watch show while having dinner, it was upsetting. Being non-China with no Chinese number,there were no drama app I could use. No YouTube etc. However, the staff communicated it with her boss and they compensated me with a little red packet for a bubble tea. Quite a good recovery response. Thank you! Overall, it was a good stay. Hotel lobby and rooms were clean and bright which were important.

Choosing this hostel for my trip to Guiyang was an excellent decision! The location is superb, making it easy to get around, and there are tons of great food options nearby, perfect for exploring and dining. The whole place is clean and tidy, the rooms have no strange odors, the bedding is comfortable, and the individual lockers provide a great sense of security. The common areas are spacious and cozy, with full amenities including a washing machine, hot water, and toiletries. The owner and staff are warm and friendly, and they thoughtfully share local travel tips. The hostel has a relaxed and welcoming vibe, which is ideal for solo backpackers. It offers fantastic value for money and is my top choice for a short trip to Guiyang. I’ll definitely be back!

Amazing hostel! Super clean, kind staff, a lot of space in the common areas! You can also watch a film on a projector (I couldn't figure it out as I don't speak Chinese), read something, or have a drink at the bar. It was surprisingly quiet. There's a locker room where you can leave your luggage. In the bathroom they also provide scrunchies and cleansing wipes, and in the room you've got a disposable towel for each day plus a toothbrush+toothpaste set. They've got decently priced local snacks and souvenirs (eg. magnets and pins), which is great! Location-wise, it's very close to the station (around 10 yuen taxi to Guiyangbei railway station), downstairs there's a mini market, and if you walk around the block, you'll see a lot of food places (open even late at night). There are no signs showing where the hotel is so when the taxi drops you off, find a lift (outside the building) and go to the 3rd floor. I do recommend it a lot! :)

We stayed at the boss's house for three days on the recommendation of a friend. The boss and his family were very nice and they had a lot of luggage, so we had to carry it all for us. The boss's house is high up in the stockade, with a 360-degree view of the whole stockade. The scenery is better and quieter than living below. In the past three days, I have tasted the boss's menu all over. I am a picky Sichuanese and I think the craftsmanship is so good. I have three meals a day at the boss's place. Even when I go down the mountain to play, my family will not eat anything from outside. Come back and eat the boss's food. Every morning I wake up to the crowing of the rooster, go for a walk in the fields, and eat a bowl of the boss’s tomato scrambled egg noodles. Both husband and wife are hard-working people. We are grateful for meeting each other and wish the business a prosperous future!

Simple hostel, serve its purpose for an affordable stay. I stayed in single room with attached bathroom. Excellent location, easy to reach from the train station and easy to go to all the sightseeing places. Boss is very helpful with directions and recommendations for sightseeing. He’s very approachable and kind. Wake up early and be rewarded with a beautiful sunrise just outside the hostel. Would highly recommend.

The location is excellent, right off the main street in the heart of the old town. While I haven't stayed in many hostels, this one is definitely the cleanest and tidiest I've encountered. The room decor is simple and neat, and the courtyard is also clean and bright. The bathroom/shower is exceptionally clean, completely odor-free, and even the toilet bowl is sparkling white. I really appreciate that smoking is prohibited inside the hostel. The owner even pointed out designated smoking areas.

The owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Before we visited Xiaoqikong Scenic Area, she specifically advised us on the best ways to explore it. When we checked out, she noticed we had a lot of luggage and even helped us carry it to our car. She also recommended some great local eateries for dinner. The property is nestled in the town, which was wonderfully quiet at night, ensuring we had a great night's sleep. The town itself is conveniently located just a few minutes' walk directly across from the scenic area, a distance that was perfectly manageable for both our children and elderly family members. We'll definitely choose to stay here again on our next visit.

Follow-up review 😂 📌 The cleaning at this hostel is exceptionally thorough and meticulous. I actually switched beds, and even though the upper bunk hadn't been used much, they changed all the bedding to a new set. This really shows how serious and complete their cleaning routine is. The cleaning staff sweeps each room every day, and the communal bathrooms are maintained regularly. The entire building is free of any damp or stale odors, which made me feel completely safe and secure during my stay. 📌 The location offers maximum convenience for getting around. It's right next to Exit K of the Pen Shuichi (Fountain) Metro Station, just a short walk away. Guiyang's underground passages can be quite confusing, but coming from the metro, it's very easy to find (from Exit K, take the escalator to your right, walk straight for about 50 meters, you'll see a liquor store, and in the middle, there's a small alley with a sign for 'travel photography' or something similar. Go through there, and you'll see elevators that go directly to the 31st floor. P.S. Even the double-decker elevators go up there). 📌 Downstairs, there are plenty of breakfast stalls and bus stops. It's close to Guomao Mall, and the metro provides direct access to all major scenic spots. Daily dining, shopping, and commuting are all incredibly convenient, with almost no extra travel time needed. 📌 The facilities are thoughtful and comprehensive, making for a very comfortable stay. The four-person room I booked was spacious and didn't feel cramped. Each guest gets a private locker with card access, so valuable items can be stored securely. There's a dedicated area for luggage, and you can also store it at the front desk for free. The common areas are huge, featuring a giant screen TV, a game zone, and a coffee lounge. On the top floor, there's a reading nook and a '网红流星顶' (internet-famous meteor shower ceiling), perfect for reading, relaxing, and socializing in your downtime. Charging ports are available everywhere, and free drinking water is supplied 24/7. 📌 The pricing is reasonable, offering excellent value for money. Considering the overall environment, service, and amenities, this price is definitely worth it. It's the best hostel I've experienced in my 8 years of traveling. 🌿 From now on, whenever I come to Guiyang, this will be my go-to place. There's no other choice! ✌️
