The quilt was too thin and it was a bit cold. The room was a bit small and the bed hurt me several times. But the hygiene was very good👍The service attitude was better than other hotels. Overall it was good.

Opened by Indians, very close to the business district. Must live on the street, the hotel is a square, there is a patio in the middle, some rooms are facing the patio, very depressed, must rely on the street, facing south or west. There are many blacks in the south of the hotel, the elevator is very wonderful, old-fashioned, need to pull the iron gate, the first time I was shocked, but then lived next to a hotel called Aldrich, witnessed a more terrible elevator. Breakfast is relatively simple and there is no area to eat. There is no air conditioning and heating, but the quilt is barely enough. But the price is really cheap. Note that some have no separate bathroom, I can't accept it completely. I have a separate bathroom. I have to pay attention to it. Don't make a mistake.

The location is very good as it is right next to Koreatown. The room was clean as the host seemed to be sensitive to cleanliness. A day or two is not bad as long as you meet your roommates well. Air conditioning works well too. Towels could be borrowed for $2 but they were not clean. Important items can be stored in the locker according to the number of people in the room and locked with your own lock.

Loved staying here. The location is amazing. it's like a 1 minute walk to the beach and all the other things venice beach has to offer. The staff was always available, friendly, and helpful. I was solo travelling and felt safe here.

I booked in for 2 nights here as a solo female traveller. I had confirmation emails etc. as proof that I had booked a single room - I arrived at the hostel around 6.20pm on a Friday to find I had been placed in a large mixed dorm. The guy on the front desk was polite but totally unhelpful apparently under instruction from his manager. I offered to take any of the female dorms but was told all were sold out. I could not take the bed offered by them in the large mixed dorm, and they offered no like for like alternative. I was told that if i cancelled my stay/didn't check in I would lose my full amount paid as it was outside the cancellation period - they didn't grasp that within the cancellation period I was getting the room I booked, so it wasn't a cancellation on my behalf and was instead them not supplying what was purchased. I wasted so much time here to be offered no help while going through ********** customer support - I eventually gave up at 9:30pm when my employer forked out for a bed in another hotel for me. ********** were meant to get a full refund for me, as they failed to uphold their part of the sale, but 2.5 weeks later I've had or heard nothing from the hostel. To pay for something which is totally unavailable, with no budge room and no option for a refund, is a total scam. Do not book here as a solo female traveller as you will not be respected or safe.

Beautiful clean hotel, excellent customer service, It's easy to get a late check out will definitely stay again

The hotel is just 100 meters from the 16th Mission Street exit. The owner is a Panamanian (Indian) and the service is very warm. The size of the house is small, except for the public shower and toilet, the rest are private. There are many black people downstairs, but they are safer than you think. Single girls are not recommended to travel alone at night.

Cedar Lodge is really nicely located a couple of miles from the park entrance in El Portal. The bathrooms are spacious and the rooms are appropriately equipped other than the obvious absence of a microwave. If you need to microwave something, you will need to go to the hotel lobby, and this can be a bit of a walk given the size of the property. Other than that, I think the hotel does what it supposed to, provide cheap and convenient accommodation for travelers to the park.

Hotel location is very good, the room is a bit old, Mexican style, but overall it is a very good travel hotel, the environment is very good, the surrounding is also very quiet, opposite the Marriott Hotel, about 3 minutes from the old city center, very convenient. There should be facilities in the room, praise!

If you want to keep your luggage stored once checked out it's $5 per person to store your luggae and $2 for a padlock. Able to use the shower's etc once checked out if needed before you fly out.

This should not be called a hotel, it should be counted as a motel. Anyway, it will not surprise you. It can only be used for temporary accommodation to catch a flight. The price is not very high. If you have requirements for a hotel, don’t choose it. It is not the same as other hotels around the airport. comparability.

Stayed here to go to a show at the Greek Theatre. Room smelled and looked clean enough, but there were stains on the bedding, and we only had a sheet and not a blanket. By the time I realized it I was laying down to sleep and was too tired to call the front desk and ask for one. Free parking was a bonus. The fridge was nice and cold, but there aren't ice machines at the hotel. If you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs. There is road noise ALL NIGHT LONG. AJ, who was working the front desk, was very nice and helpful. Overall, for the price and the reason we were there, it worked!

The first time I booked a homestay, the landlord is a warm-hearted person, the transportation is convenient, it is easy to find, it is near the airport, the environment is OK, and the sanitation is generally affordable for temporary accommodation! will come again next time!

If you need an affordable motel room within $12 Uber of Venice Beach this is for you. It suited me perfectly for the weekend and here are my thoughts now I’m back in Australia: PROS: Price is good Close to beach Super clean and comfy Maccas right next door and Thai across road Deli and bottle shop around corner Free car parking Friendly staff Double glazed windows stop traffic noise Microwave CONS: Doors are not solid and traffic noise is bad (a shame as the windows are great!) No kettle or coffee machine in room Random people sheltering in stairwell Being cheap you get all sorts of people night and day. Would I bring my family here? Probably not. But for a party night nearby or a bed close to the airport you can’t go wrong. I actually really like the place and would go back any time. Yes an apartment on the beach would be better but they’re 5 times the price and that’s not for me so this place is perfect. I usually take photos but TBH nothing stood out so I didn’t, but it was perfectly fine 👍

If you're looking for bougie and fancy, this isn't the place for you! But if you want clean and comfy, this is the spot!! We stayed 3 nights @ the Castle Inn and couldn't have asked for better! The staff was great, our room was spotless (you could smell the clean), and we were an easy walk or Uber ride from everything we wanted to see. I know the ”motel-style” with external doors might turn people off, but we never once felt unsafe. It truly was a great stay and I'd book again without hesitation!

have made repairs and now there are hotel standards and if the price does not rise then the normal hotel is all you need to eat

I stayed 3 nights in a female room, beds in a capsule style, a spacious and quiet room, a big locker, and it covered my bag, common bag and jacket. In every floor they have a lounge with TV, microwave, freezer, coffee and tea. The location is excellent, close to the market, public transport and tourist points at 20 minutes walk. I love and recommend!

No frills, nothing fancy, just a decent, honest hotel that is a great place to put your head down for a couple of nights. Stayed here for 2 nights pre/post the Death Ride in Markleeville...a few other cyclists here too. Didn't really use any of the facilities, but had b'fats and evening meals in the hotel and both were good value, with attentive staff and a good selection to choose from. If I ever came back to do the ride again, I'd stay here.

Reserved here for 10 days July 26 2022. We thought the place might be OK at ~$200/night. There were remarkable problems. 1) ”Free” parking meant, ”don't use your car or you may come back to a full lot”. 2) There were NO drawers. I am serious. nothing under the TV, no side tables, and nothing in the closet. I have never stayed in a place with no drawers! 3) Did I say no side tables? There were little wooden ”flappers” nailed into the bedstead on each side maybe to place a drink. And one of them was cracked so we had to use a suitcase as a night stand. 4) Three hangers in the closet, and the closet door alternated as a bathroom door depending on your needs. So this place is right on the wharf, location-location, but it sucks. We managed to get out of our reserves for only one extra night penalty and move several blocks away to a Travelodge (Lombard St) which was the same price with none of these problems. Please stay away from the Wharf Inn and enjoy your stay.

The location is very good. There are security guards at the door. Although there are tramps nearby, it is safer if you don’t go back too late. Many international friends, many free activities, many friends who travel alone, simple but very good breakfast.

It is convenient to travel by traffic, and it is very close to the entrance and exit of Highway 5. Easy to travel. Not far from Legoland. The carpet is dirty, the TV can't be turned on, and changing a room to charge the USB is bad and can't be used. The toilet is particularly small, and the sound of the exhaust fan is particularly large! Overall, I have lived in the worst hotel in the United States.

Location was great even the room location was great, however, room smelled bad, I’m sure it was the carpet. Walls were disgusting dirty. Bathroom floor was gross. Hotel needs to get rid of carpeting or clean it often. Won’t be staying there again.

As a digital nomad I frequently travel across California and San Diego is one of my favorite cities. I came across stay classy hostel from a recommendation from a friend and was pleasantly surprised. Stay classy is more like a hotel than a basic hostel. Brandon and Derek the owners are very quick to help and accommodate you at any given moment. I like the fact that they are striving to be a “smart hostel” with digital key locks and upgrades TVs and lighting. They even put fans in the rooms per request of one of the guests. I wish them nothing but luck and think they have a successful franchise on the horizon. I will miss staying at this place as my journey in San Diego has possibly come to a close but I highly recommend it! 5 stars! Ryan

This hotel is just ok, staff was responsive and the location is good. But it has a very old and loud AC unit and the door was secured with a chain, which I don’t think I’ve ever seen... also my room def had remnants of cigarette smoke but it wasn’t overpowering. And the internet was REALLY slow. You probably shouldn’t stay here if you plan on streaming or working a lot online

The location is good, parking is convenient at night, the price is reasonable, and the hygiene is good. The atmosphere in the lobby at night is really good. I will stay here again if I have the chance.

Jennifer Rivera-Nichols 1/5 just now on Google I arrived with my mom to check in at this worst San Diego hostel at 1am...ridiculously exhausted. My mom had just paid to park 2 blocks away and we carried armfuls of belongings with us to the hostel. When we arrived, the clerk was like, ”Reservation?” like my mom was speaking Greek. She said nothing and just walked away. Minute later the owner came in and told my mom that I was not allowed to stay there because I'm under 18. She was talking to my mom like a bully. My mom explained to the owner that our room was already paid for, that she had booked it thru hotels.com as a minor + adult, and that it was 1am already...we're exhausted and where else are we gonna get a room at that hour. I kept falling asleep on their staircase during this time because I was so tired. The lady was arguing with my mom about their rules. Meanwhile, the clerk keeps saying to my mom, ”She's just trying to help you.” That's a lie. If they wanted to help, they could have...but they did not. After a heated conversation, the owner says she will allow me to stay. I was relieved. Then 3 seconds later I just heard her tell my mom, ”Nevermind. I don't like your attitude. You need to get off my property.” WTH Really? This mean lady was gaslighting my mom, bullying her, and was mad at us for just for walking thru the door. She could have approached my mom saying, ”Hi, I'm So-and-So, the owner. It looks like there is a discrepancy with your booking. Because we have shared bathrooms here, we don't allow children. I know it's 1am, and hearing this is really stressful, but let's see what we can do to figure this out. Would you be able to accompany your daughter to the bathroom?” Instead she treated my mom really bad like she had done something wrong. We've stayed at plenty of hostels. None of them had a policy saying I could not be there. I was starting to feel really scared that I would not have a place to sleep since I heard my mom on the phone trying to find a new hotel. They were all full or $300. This Gaslamp Hostel owner is anti-children, anti-family, and made me feel like I had caused my mom so much hassle :-( After we wasted an hour trying to check in and get our money back, I tried to cheer my mom up. I was hugging her while she sat on the phone with hotels.com. I told her I could sleep in the car so she would not have to spend more money or be more stressed, but my mom said it's not safe to sleep in the car, and she didn't know where we could park to do that anyway. My mom was crying when we left. We ended up sleeping in a gross motel smoking room. I saw a bug on the table when we walked in. The owner of this cheap San Diego hotel is not a human being. The location is great, in the gaslamp quarter. About half an hour walk from the famous Balboa Park. It is not too far from the port of San Diego. Many bars and restaurants downstairs. Good is very convenient, and bad is very noisy at night. The choice for nightlife is right here. The music downstairs is a lot of Latin and there are street bands. Okay. The staff were very welcoming. Will organize a city tour. Breakfast is average, no milk. The decoration is very unique, the patio is very warm, but unfortunately there is no time to enjoy. Washing clothes one dollar at a time, drying one dollar. Would consider here if I return.

Raju at the front desk was very helpful I was able too grab a room on short notice with no problems made my check in very fast and smooth that made my night very much better couldn’t have asked for better costumer service definitely will be staying here again .
