The hotel is small but the environment is good, just by the sea, there are not many types of breakfast, but the Japanese who are traveling together say that the breakfast here is very good, I don’t feel too much, it’s good to run along the coast in the afternoon, but if you think the waves are noisy, don’t live here.
A decent hotel. The service was excellent. They offered free dandan noodles for a late-night snack. The hot springs were excellent. It happened to be the Lantern Festival, and the open-air baths, enjoying the cool breeze and bright moonlight, were quite relaxing. Just be sure to pay attention to the bus schedule from the hotel to the station. When booking, I thought it would run every hour, but it turned out to be only available at 15:10. Although we missed the shuttle, the bus was quite convenient. Just be sure to prepare small change in cash or PayPay. I personally think the 100-year-old plum wine is superb. Highly recommended.
Gorgeous views and fantastic food! A great spot! Also very close to the waterfalls and an easy hike up. Great for relaxing and enjoying seasonal foods! Was a lovely break from my typically packed itineraries. Everyone was super friendly and they had multilingual staff.
① The front desk was crowded when I checked in, but the staff were very organized and helpful, so I didn't feel like I had to wait. Excellent👍
② The room was spacious, and the dining area was also large, which was nice. I was able to relieve my daily fatigue.
③ The dinner was sumptuous and delicious, and it filled both my stomach and my heart. The tableware was also elaborate, which made me very satisfied.
④ The breakfast menu was varied, colorful, and delicious. I was full from the morning! ️
Very traditional room, the scenery is very beautiful, looking at the red bridge outside the window
Dandan noodles are available for supper, very delicious
I have no complaints about the facilities or service. The super room with a loft bed is perfect for families with one child and I would like to stay here again. The hot spring water was smooth and nice. And finally, when I left the inn, a staff member who was not at the front desk but was doing cleaning and other duties said a pleasant farewell to me. I was quite moved by this.
I stayed with my child during the summer vacation. Check-in at the front desk was also smooth. The private open-air bath was a great reward. There is also a 2-hour frame. I entered and exchanged with my daughter, and I lay in a chair and the wind came in comfortably and fell asleep. The futon was also fluffy. It was a pity that the dressing area was small and hot in the large communal bath.
I stayed in the main building. It was generally old. The new building seems to be newer. Please note that the main building only has smoking rooms. You have to go to the annex to get to the public bath, but the bath was normal and relaxing.
The room I booked didn't have a ”smoking” sign on it, so even though I commented that I wanted a non-smoking room because I had a baby, it was actually a smoking room. When I entered the room without any explanation at the front desk at check-in, there was a smell of cigarettes. I was asked to change rooms, but there was an additional charge of 1000 yen/person. I thought it was a little unkind.
The hotel was great in many ways, and perfect for a family trip. I went to Oarai to attend their annual fireworks show and though this hotel is 50 mins by walk from the venue, the distance is manageable when the traffic was so bad after the show. It’s a pity I couldn’t enjoy the dinner due to the traffic, at least I got to enjoy the free ramen supper. One thing to mention about staff - we emailed the hotel to inquire about the access to the annual fireworks show when we made the booking, and staff told us it was easy to get to the venue by taxi. However on the event day, the front desk staff said the road is very congested every year and advised us to walk 50 mins, they also refused to get a taxi for us. For families travelling with elderly, it totally threw off our plan, and I wish the staff had more experience when providing information so we could make an informed decision based on records.
My stay at this accommodation was absolutely fantastic and far exceeded my expectations! The place was impeccably clean and wonderfully quiet, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The hosts were incredibly kind and attentive, making me feel right at home. One of the highlights was the food—breakfast and dinner were served daily, and each meal was unique, prepared with incredibly fresh ingredients. Every dish was delicious and thoughtfully crafted, adding a special touch to the experience. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable, clean, and welcoming stay. It’s truly exceptional and well worth it!
I love Dormy Inn and found the price of this room very reasonable, as it had all the perks of the dormy inn franchise but also had larger rooms than the Tokyo-based locations and looked better-maintained! I will be back when I next visit Mito!
Staff are nice with manner Have drinks & slacks during afternoon Environment is good & warm Onsen of apple 🍎 is amazing Second time to stay in this hotel
The hotel service is good. Although it is a little far away from Mito Station, there is a bus at the door. It is quite convenient to go to Mito Station. There are several parking lots, and as long as you park in, the parking space will be fixed during your stay in the hotel. You don't have to worry about finding a parking space after driving out during the period. The healthy breakfast is good, and at least one dish changes every day; arrive at 4 p.m. There are also free drinks at 9 o'clock. The room is a bit small, in line with Japanese business hotel standards. There is only one hot spring, and you need to switch between men and women throughout the day. Judging from the usage time, it is not friendly to women.
