|0.26km from city centerRooms were ok… nothing out of the extraordinary but it had a weird smell to it. The location is nice, it’s near condado area almost everything walking distance. AWFUL service. Since we came in we had problems to check-in and confirmed our reservation had the late check-out at 1pm since it was included. We had Late Check-out included and when we were about to check out, we told the lady at the front desk that our check out was at 1pm. She looked at us and said no it’s at 12pm but with a bad attitude. Then I told her that our stay had included the late check out. She then said with the same very bad attitude, “well if you said that at first”. Then my partner said well there’s a problem with organization because we said that at check in and she confirmed it. She then responded with even more attitude… “No the problem is communication” Honestly for being a “Hotel” it had a horrible customer service. Not recommended at all if you want a pleasant vacation.

|3.34km from city centerWe booked this room just a week before our Puerto Rico trip and got a private room at around 55$ which was dirt cheap compared to hotels in San Juan. We knew it was a hostel and based on the price we had our expectations set real low. It turned out to be better than we expected. Both the room and the bathroom were small but we have stayed at even smaller homestays before at more expensive rates. There was a bar next door and there was some noise but not too disturbing. On one of the nights we had a few of the other guests being somewhat loud quite late. But other than that, we liked our stay there. The hosts were courteous and accommodating to our requests. The bed was comfy. It had a great location and uber rides to downtown were just around 4 $. The only suggestion I have is that they provide blinds or curtains for the window since our room stayed always illuminated from the corridor light.

|0.8km from city centerThe hotel is in a very central location in the old town, you can walk anywhere. Very local, and the service is very helpful. The hotel environment is incomparable to that of well-known local hotels. After all, in the old town. It is recommended to stay in this hotel for 1-2 days. Play in the old town. Then go to the hotel to stay for a few days and then play other items.

|3.25km from city centerThe hotel has a lot of potential but needs better cleanliness. You can tell is a spot for couples, since we found rose petals and left over belongings from the couple staying prior to us. I wouldn't rule out they can be great hotel, but needs better quality services for their price, cleanliness and feel of the Mediterranean decor we were looking forward to. Adjacent OLV hotel helps a lot with the experience and makes for the lack of experience at the boutique hotel portion.

|1.21km from city centerThis was the best experience, as a local tourist, with hilton in Puerto Rico. This hotel is in old San Juan and has an infinity pool and bar at the rooftop with incredible views. Rooms are super clean and everybody from Andrea and her team at the front desk to the housekeeping lady, were very nice and brought us chocolates and water. My family and I felt very welcome. We were celebrating my son's birthday and everybody was greeting him. At the Consular Restaurant, Kiara, provide us with the best service, food was delicious and the food came quickly. Kiara has the best attitude and her smile is contagious.

|5.01km from city centerWindchimes was a cute little hidden gem a short walk from the beach (~3 min walk). The street over had lots of cute restaurants and cafes. Overall, great location. Some downfalls were , lots of construction, air conditioner sounded like dripping water noises, and our room had no windows. Very nice staff, many outdoor sitting areas, small pool. We also had access to the sister hotel, which had a slightly bigger pool that was heated (and felt like a hot tub!) Free access to beach towels and filtered water with cone cups. We enjoyed scootering around Puerto Rico, highly recommended downloading the bird app to scooter for yourself . Great spring break with my girls!

|0.16km from city centerWent to this hotel this morning to enjoy breakfast like had on Sunday morning (Very Good) while charging my phone and waiting in the lobby A Gentlemen Named “Melvin” hotel staff member (refused to give me his last name ) said to me in a very arrogant manner that I could not sit down n the lobby area that’s was completely empty bc I was not a guest at the hotel. Mind you that I’m waiting for a friend to have breakfast. I proceeded to the bar area to order some breakfast bc apparently you can be on the property if your not consuming I ordered breakfast. Feeling completely humiliated and uncomfortable about the Melvin’s additude and approach towards me I ask the bar tender what the gentleman last name. Melvin noticed I pointed to him and proceeded to walk over to me and say we have you in observación if I don’t like what I see I will kick you off the property. I felt completely disgusted/ and humbled by the way Melvin spoke to me that is not how you treat a paying customer. Management needs to do better there are ways to communicate a message or policy without being rude and be littling another human being.

I have NEVER been at a hotel when I didn’t have an issue. We danced, shopped, swam and toured the city. The hotel was the perfect place to end each night in the heated pool. When I come back to Puerto Rico I will stay at this hotel ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

|0.72km from city centerUnfortunately, the high expectations I had for this place were lacking. First of all, I booked a deluxe room which included a TV in the room, sofa bed and was supposed to have its own entrance and privacy. As per the instructions on Hotels.com it stated that I should contact the property at least 24 hours in advanced for check-in details. I did just that and was met with a return message stating that I would receive the information prior to check-in on the day the reservation was to begin. Nevertheless, I didn't receive it until 4:15pm, mind you that the normal check-in times, as posted, are 3pm-10pm. Not only did I receive the check-in details about 1-2 hours late but also received a phone call with some confusing information. The lady informed me that my room had supposedly been ”overbooked” by the system and that my room wasn't available for my stay. That they would award me a room inside an ”apartment”, which is usually reserved for Airbnb and as compared to the deluxe room I had booked, included a larger space with a kitchen and other rooms which would be closed. I didn't really need a kitchen since I wasn't planning on cooking etc and was definitely skeptical and thinking how that happened since I had reserved the deluxe room days in advance and wasn't contacted for it at all. No other option was offered to me and I decided to go with it and give it a try... Unfortunately, upon arrival my skepticism was met with reality. All the access gates for the property are open, no locks, meaning anyone can enter the property at any given time. The only actual room which was open inside the ”apartment” didn't have all the amenities as the one I booked and the entire ”apartment” didn't have a single TV. Moreover, there were other people's belongings inside the room, ”apartment” and balcony, which in fact had a seating area but the cushions had been removed so it was useless. Another person's sandals, lighter and more surprisingly contraceptive pills were visible upon arriving. I found this to be unacceptable, specially during these times. I didn't feel comfortable and actually questioned the cleanliness and infection control, given that clearly no one had verified the lodging area and took care of the items which I previously mentioned. I felt unsafe at this time, not knowing if there was other people with access to the ”apartment”, given the fact that there were other people's items left in plain view. I contacted the property regarding the findings upon arrival and I didn't receive a response. I was confused about what to do since I definitely didn't feel safe and didn't know how to proceed since there's no front desk in the property. I never heard anything back and decided to vacate the property and seek lodging elsewhere. That meant having to pay for a hotel elsewhere and spend an additional quantity of money than we were expecting but it was a decision I made with my partner because ultimately we didn't feel safe!!!

There is no option to include breakfast in the booking. You can only add it to the hotel. The breakfast buffet is small, and the taste is more suitable for Americans. However, there are 24-hour fast food restaurants nearby, Starbucks, the best Chinese restaurant new taste. The front desk is polite and the pool security is polite.

|2.41km from city centerHad a very enjoyable overnight stay at this very charming hotel while visiting San Juan ahead of a cruise. The hotel is well situated, with an array of nice restaurants and small supermarkets nearby (ideal for picking up bottles of wine or any last minute or forgotten supplies) and is only a short (6 min / $5) Uber from the Cruise Terminal. The staff are as warm and friendly as they are helpful and accommodating. Our flight got in much earlier than expected and we arrived considerably ahead of the check-in time - we had hoped to have the hotel just stow our baggage while we ran a quick errand but they were happy to check our room was ready and allow us to use it. The room was very clean, well maintained, light, spacious and well appointed , with a sofa, armchair, king bed, table, two chairs. There was plenty of space for luggage, lots of mirrors (great for getting ready without getting in each other's way), a small safe, microwave and a fridge that chilled wine remarkably quickly (which greatly impressed my wife). We had a high floor that offered some lovely ocean views. There was a choice of pillows and we enjoyed a very comfortable night's sleep . I can't imagine a nicer stay and would look forward to staying at the hotel again if visiting San Juan.

|0.82km from city centerWe enjoyed our stay at Fortaleza suites and would recommend the hotel. The A/C was a bit noisy, but we had a nice, spacious room with a great location right in Old San Juan. Our room was called the ”Fortaleza Suite Room” and was a nice, clean, big space with tall ceilings. Beds were comfortable. A/C worked well but was noisy (see below). Bathroom: nicely appointed but a little dark. Shower worked well. There was a notice to put toilet paper in a trash can vs. flushing it. Noise: I was concerned about noise from the street at night. We were there on a Monday night and there was no issue with street noise that night. There was some noise (vehicles, talking) from the street in the early morning. The A/C unit would turn on quite noisily at regular intervals; it could wake you up if you are not a heavy sleeper. Arrival Logistics: The hotel communicates well via text/email. We were able to store our bags until our room was available. There is a very small alley a couple doors past the hotel, as you drive down the one way street. We used that alley to park quickly as we unloaded bags upon arrival - before driving to an offsite parking lot. They recommended the Galeria Paseo Portuario parking garage nearby (I think it was $13 for 24 hours) and also noted the La Puntilla parking lot ($3 to $5 for overnight parking) further away. We used La Puntilla. It was a short walk - towing a rolling suitcase. It would be a long walk if carrying (vs. rolling) a heavy bag. Finding a free space in La Puntilla took some time/effort.

|0.59km from city centerCtrip is also enough. Originally, I had already set a room on Booking. I saw that Ctrip was a lot cheaper, and I retired the Booking. However, the so-called sea view room that was given to the store through Ctrip is a room in a room, and the TV wall of the other room is the bedside of our room. The TV and other sounds in the next room are clearly heard, which seriously affects sleep. The next day, I can only change the room. It is not the balcony room with sea view. I had tossed for a long time before and after changing rooms, and I was still in a bad mood. At the same time, the check-out also received a 142 knife ”Hotel Tax”. This tax order is not available, can you return it?

|1.89km from city centerThis was the perfect hotel for my first visit to San Juan, and I can't wait to return. Me & my mom came to celebrate my moms Birthday. And mentioning it doing check in, we were given a couple of Birthday drinks to redeem before we left the hotel to celebrate the occasion. Thanks Sylviani & Sabilya. Awesome & Professional at all times! The staff treated us well. I liked the fact that the hotel provided shuttle service to and from Old San Juan & to one of the close by beaches. Our view from the 5th floor was great also. We could see the pool & the water fountain across the street. They were both beautiful with the different colored lights at night The location was great, and a lot of things to do within walking distance. T-Mobile district was a 2 minute walk. ******, 5 minute walk. Make sure you get pictures in front of the I love PR sign that's close by. Thanks again and hope to see you soon!

I was always greeted in such a friendly way, and the rooms were always cleaned and well maintained by the excellent housekeeper, Edwin. He was so kind and gave great recommendations, and kept the bathroom and room very well maintained and clean. Dinelys and Nina were both so helpful and welcoming, especially since it was my first time in a hostel. I enjoyed my first time so much that I came back for another 4 nights a few days later! And thank God I did, i met some incredible people on my return visit! The rooftop is wonderful, and I felt very at home. The beach is a quick 6-10 minute walk away, and there’s plenty of food and shops around. Will absolutely stay again the next time I’m in San Juan! 🤍🤍

|9.82km from city center I was apprehensive since we were traveling all day, getting in at 1 AM. We took a cab from the airport which took about 12-14 minutes, and cost $18 with 2 bags. We were met right away, checked in with no problem and given room #209. The wife and I went up the stairs to the second floor, I mention this because you need to be careful doing this with luggage, but I don't think this could be structurally changed, just take your time. We turned left at the top of the stairs and we were in the first room. We entered into a large living space which had a futon couch, TV, table with 4 chairs, refrigerator, microwave, and sink. The room had its own air conditioner, which worked great, as did the bedroom air. It had a tiled floor, and the room was spotless. The bedroom was roomy, with 2 queen beds, which we found comfortable. It had all we needed, and everything worked. There is a room safe which looks new, like the cruise ships have, but a bit bigger. The bathroom is basic, no blow dryer, but had what we needed, and everything worked, all was clean. We live in the desert, so our plans were to go to the beach every day. It is about a 10 minute walk. Once there, turn left and go about 100 yards and you will see some guys who will rent lounge chairs for $5 and umbrellas for $15. There were enough trees so we never needed an umbrella. Just get a couple towels from the desk, and go. There are many places to eat within a 10-15 minute walk, take a walk to the CVS, you will pass by a bunch of places, and the CVS is huge and good for room snacks and drinks. You can grab some food and eat around the pool, which we were in every day. The pool was also in good shape. You will get a room key, not a card, everyone was friendly. Being half the price of the hotels down the block, we felt we received good value. We stayed 4 nights, and would not hesitate to stay again.

|2.17km from city centerThe second hotel of choice for San Juan, Hyatt Place is a business hotel across the street. Closer to the Old Town of San Juan, less than ten minutes by car. There are not many places to eat around the hotel, but there is a big WalMart in a six or seven minute drive. The room has a kitchenette, tableware and pots, and condiments are simple in configuration.
The hotel is relatively new, the environment is not large and delicate, the swimming pool is relatively small behind the hotel, other entertainment gyms, and game rooms are also available. Parking is relatively large, around $ 16 a night.
Good breakfast, although not many varieties, but clean. The overall cost is relatively expensive, and various taxes are equivalent to about 3500 a night when checking out, which is not cost-effective.
