We went there with Friends because of a last minute mess up in our previous reservation. The property has an insanely pretty beachfront which is incredible for surfing and watching the sunset However, the architecture of the place is Ancient Egypt. It was very confusing to see Halls filled with Egypt murals and rooms filled with Sri Lankan architecture Staff was extremely friendly and helpful Bar Menu was cheap and filled with tasty food Breakfast was poor

This place is an absolute „no go“. WiFi connection was only available in the lobby. Despite several requests the problem couldn’t be solved even after 3 (three) days. I always had to come down to the reception area in order to get connected with the Internet. There were no towels provided on my arrival. I realized this after I finished shower, dried myself with a T-Shirt and went down to the reception to ask for one. Since my second day the elevator is out of order and of course not still not yet repaired. Kabalana Hotel is a run-down and filthy accommodation. It looks like the corridors to the rooms haven’t been hoovered for weeks. Sometimes dishes and cutlery from meals consumed in the rooms we left in the hallway for hours before finally picked up. I never touched the buffet food and went to restaurants for dinners instead, though I was booked half board

Part of a huge celebration with big spending to book the whole hotel. Good: 1) Decent breakfast spread, just don't leave your plate outside unattended or gone to birds. 2) Nice sunset views. 3) Surfers can hop right into the water, but swimmers cannot. Dangerous either way. Bad: 1) Egyptian theme from prior owners I presume. Tacky as can be. 2) Wifi bad and does not work in many rooms including our "villa" 102 3) Aircon + fan bad 4) No room cleaning 5) Horrendous filthy restrooms, major ant problems. 6) Major ant problems in the room. 7) Too much staff that are all useless with poor English and one weird guy claiming to have been raised by Dutch adopting parents. He won't shut up or leave you alone if you start a conversation. 8) No wifi in the rooms. 9) Very high prices for soft drinks and they pulled major scams on our group tricking people into thinking soft drinks were included at our first big party. 10) Charged us to re-do the lawn grass from putting up all of our tables and covered areas. This was not pre-notified. 11) Theft occurred on multiple occasions and police had to be involved. 12) Locals drift around the property and you don't know who is who. Avoid this place. You have no easy access to supermarket, restaurants, bars, or shops on foot.

It was my second time that I stayed in this hotel. It was an excellent hotel in south area of Sri Lanka at my first travel on last May. But I was there in second visit, Nothing was in order. Most things were out of order. refrigerator was out of service, electricity shock was happend when I put key card of the room in the place. Housekeeping was very weak. There was not telephone in the room after check-in and they provided it two days after staying in the room. A/C system was not working properly at night time. I think management has been changed and it was the main reason of these problems It is not recommended to stay in this hotel, even for 1 Night.

The hotel is shocking. At first impression it looks very nice. But inside the room things are not maintained. There is no water flow, the bathtub is broken, and you see the filling jumping out, the safe does not work, the refrigerator does not work, the walls are leaking, ants are walking on me while I was sleeping. Bad food. Terrible feeling. I will never recommend him, nor will I return to him

No hot water, everything wasn’t working in the room(112) - ac, tv, hairdryer. Had to ask for towels. Except this, the food in the hotel below any minimal level. The hotel is very old, substantial reconstruction is needed, otherwise no reason to stay here.

The hotels design is very impressive, its an egyptian style design, the staff members are very kind and the rooms are big and comfy. The hotel is located next to the beach and has a nice pool. The hotels location is great, in general its a good value for the price.

One of the best hotel in south of Sri Lanka, with best services and facilities. Very Nice and Polite Staff, special thanks to Hotel professional General Manager Mr. Claude Bernard for his efforts and cooperation. Very good restaurant, clean pool and nice beach. Rooms are enough big and clean with full facilities View of Hotel is like heaven and unique which you may not experience. I may have a trqvel again and I am fully to reserve this hotel.

Last 24th of may ,it was a brilliant day to me and my whole family bcz it was my brothers wedding day. Hotel management and crew members and staff treated well and supportive to us in every side to make that day beauty. I need to tell as a suggestion in the rainy season u can arrange another place for liquor and bar is better .
