Near Harvard University. There is an amazing bagel shop nearby which is great for breakfast.

Thought I had reviewed this already but apparently not. Really cute place, good location. Quiet, soundproofed perhaps, and good bed. Not huge room but not an issue for me. Nice view of a smaller streets and some greenery. They were also helpful at the reception, for example giving me a good ramen place sugestion.

Nice hotel, very comfortable bed, clean room. The room was small, just big enough for the bed, but there was an area with a desk and coffeemaker near the bathroom, which was of a good size. The bed had storage drawers underneath which made it quite high to climb into. There is no daily housekeeping but you can request it at any time. There's a Cafe Nero next door and a plaza across the street with many food options. The Porter T station (red line) is just across the street. Not far from Harvard and with good bus and train connections.

Just finished 3 nights. Very nice stay. Clean. Quiet 3rd floor room. Small but sufficient. Bathroom and shower are great. Windows open which is nice. Love the location on Mass Ave. close to shopping and restaurants. Across from T station. About 1 mile to Harvard. Valet parking $28. Wish the room had a small refrigerator.

My wife and I wanted a hotel where we could walk around Cambridge and easily take the T into Boston. Hotel 1868 fit the bill perfectly. Harvard Square is a short walk and the entrance to the T is practically across the street from the hotel. When we arrived we were greeted with valet parking immediately and welcomed by happy, professional hotel agents. We loved the view of Mass Ave from our room and the bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I can remember. Each person we came in contact with was outstanding from the valet driver to the front desk to the housekeeping staff. We will definitely return to this clean, fresh, perfectly located hotel.

My husband and I were so impressed with the front desk, particularly, Mr. Bishop. He was extremely welcoming, and knowledgeable and answered all of our many questions about what to see and do in Cambridge and the Boston area. Our room was immaculate and very comfortable – we had everything we needed and more! We really enjoyed the sunny window seat. The housekeeping staff, too, was very accommodating. Valet parking was quick and efficient. We loved walking into Cambridge and venturing into Back Bay on the T. We only wished we could have stayed longer and will definitely return again soon! Thank you to the entire staff and a special shout out to Mr. Bishop!

Very disappointed in what we got from this hotel for the price, would go as far to say its the worst value hotel I've stayed in, and I travel quite a lot. Firstly, well located, Porter Station right across the road, plenty of shops, bars and restaurants nearby too. Also a very nice area. Despite being on a busy main road, our room, at the back of hotel was reasonably quiet. Bed very comfortable, albeit exceptionally high off the ground. Great TV with a good selection of channels. Coffee machine in room, filtered water and ice available in basement. Staff very friendly and helpful. Decent wifi. The reasons for the low rating. Room was very basic. Didn't even have somewhere to hang my coat which is a ridiculous oversight. There are a few hangers for clothes, but the space was too short for my long coat. Hairdryer was poor in bathroom, but also no power outlets near mirror in hallway to use. The soap provided was disgusting, it left a real oily residue when used, which took some time to get off. Seen a number of reviews say the same. Test your products before supplying to your customers. Shower curtain! Why on earth would you put a shower curtain on a walk in shower, it kept blowing into the limited space in the shower making it very uncomfortable to shower. Also it was very small and didn't stop water getting everywhere! No room service! This is a 4 star hotel, I don't expect to have to go down and ask for towels or room to be made up, covid is no longer in effect, change this policy. No fridge in room, this is again another shocking oversight I assume, never been in a 4 star that hasn't a fridge, usually you'll get a mini bar too, but not here. The room itself was just very small, was difficult for 2 people to move around with 2 cases and the bed. Also the only chair in the room was tucked into a corner too close to the bed to actually sit on to do your footwear, sitting on bed wasn't an option as it's so high off the ground. As I mentioned, in terms of the cost and what you get, I would rate this hotel as the worst value I've ever experienced anywhere in the world. Would not recommend!

The hotel was very clean and functional, however it was essentially bare bones and more style over function. The bed was comfortable, however the room was very small, and the soaps were very odd - not sure if they were supposed to be moisturising or what, but they left us feeling very greasy. The hotel is very close to the Porter Square T station, which is convenient. Overall, an OK hotel, but seemed very expensive for what we got.
