I booked for 2 nights 15th- 17th September for leisure purposes. It was my 40th birthday and my husband had bought tickets to see Kevin Bridges at the Hydro next door. As a special occasion, we booked a Suite & decided to stay longer to make a nicer and relaxing stay. I booked via Booking.com earlier in the year. Extremely easy to get to the Hotel, easy to park & clear signage. Like the walkway into the hotel itself which kept us off the road and the parking tablets on Reception made the process very easy. (Not always a given in a City Centre Hotel - so appreciated) Check In- extremely efficient and staff were brilliant. Was disappointed to be notified that the swimming pool was closed & would be shut the following day from 1430. It was part of the reason I’d chosen the hotel over others in the area. Unfortunately got to the room and it wasn’t a suite. Went back down to Reception & issue was quickly resolved (thank goodness- over £200 per night for a standard double was not what I was quoted when first looking at room options) I received a drinks voucher for 2 due to inconvenience which I thought was a kind gesture. Suite- (1106) Liked the space & loved the views over the River Clyde & beyond. Carpets were stained in multiple areas, cupboards broken on all units, remote control for the TV in living space didn’t work, room service menu was filthy with food marks, and carpets were dirty under the furniture where I presume it was trickier to get a hoover although still very visible. There were bits of debris & dust under the unit in the living space. Even more off putting was opening a bottle of sparkling water provided and finding it had already been opened and someone had clearly taken a swig already. Bar- Decided to go and use our drinks vouchers in the Bar before getting ready for the show. Waited with staff not acknowledging us & talking whilst unloading the dishwasher. When eventually served, was advised I couldn’t have a cocktail due to the show next door. I have no idea of the rationale of this policy but didn’t want to question further. I recognise it’s not the bar staff that write the policies & didn’t want to cause any bad feeling. I asked for a large white wine instead & was then informed that I couldn’t have a large size with the drinks voucher & a medium was then promptly served. I would understand if I’d asked for a Dalmore 62 or a pint of Vodka, but I thought 75 ml extra of wine was tight & poor customer experience especially in the circumstances considering the voucher being received in the first place. I was then asked by the Bar Staff member “Let me guess, you got the voucher due to a problem with the room?” I agreed. “ Doesn’t surprise, this isn’t a good hotel” was the response. When sitting in the bar, I noticed other guests were clearly being served cocktails. I felt extremely put out by this & added to my overall bad impressions of the hotel. Next morning- breakfast in the club lounge- Helped myself to cereal, yo

We thoroughly enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea in a beautiful setting attended to by the friendly and informative Argyro who could not have done enough for us. Our room was lovely with an amazing view of the city. The time at the pool was fun and the two gentlemen working there (sorry did not get their names to give them a mention) were very welcoming and helpful. Our room service food (again delicious!!) was brought to us by Alex (and again friendly and welcoming) The breakfast the next day was perfect. There is a vast selection of breakfast options and something to suit everyone’s dietary requirements. We were welcomed to the lounge by Kiamha who was super friendly and accommodating. We cannot fault this stay. The staff do an excellent job and make everyone feel at home and we are already planning our next stay there. Bravo, Hilton Glasgow, and please keep up the good work 👍

We walked up from Queen Street Station in less than 10 minutes and were met by Dave the Concierge who lifted our bag in to reception. Chelsea on reception was very kind with a great upgrade due to status and that set us up for a marvellous return trip to the Kimpton Blythswood. The old Scottish Automobile Club building is lovely and the sunny views out onto the gardens in front were very welcome, though the windows in the Salon could be doing with a wash...... Our room was superb, very clean with shower and tub. And some Tunnocks wafers to go with our cuppa. Nice touch. During the social hour we were served by Dave who brought our wine up to the Salon - the old 80m long drawing room on the 1st floor. I had hoped the Salon Bar would have been opened after our last stay, but staffing seems to be the issue. Breakfast in the morning was very good with attentive and engaging staff. We left as we arrived with Dave opening the door and taking us to street level, with his usual chat and charm. We felt special. Thanks.

Had the pleasure of staying at The Address last night and we absolutely loved our experience. The hotel decor is exquisite, the bedrooms are big, large bathroom with shower and the bed is sooo comfy we didn't want to get up for breakfast this morning. You dont have to stay at the hotel to use the bar and I would recommend calling in as it has a very relaxed atmosphere where you can have have a glass of something and watch the world go by and definitely try the cocktails you won't be disappointed my favourite was the mojito. Breakfast is a buffet style which had a very large selection to offer - cold meats, cheese, fruit, yoghurt, scrambled egg, sausages, bacon, hash browns and a really nice haggis, drinks where tea, coffee fruit juices etc and everything was well presented and very tasty. The staff make this place everyone we spoke to were so polite and accommodating especially Emma and Katy at reception. Looking forward to returning next month.

I went there to treat my bfriend for his bday and I was promised that there will be a prosecco in the room as I called the day before but upon checking by Miss Shannon never mentioned anything, she seemed to be very busy and she did not give us the best welcome to be honest. When we went in the room, there was nothing and the room was not the best, it seemed that the room was allocated upon arrival so not the first beginning! it was a quiet room but really boring decoration and small and the bed very uncomfortable. Very disappointed and also the sink tap in the room was broken, the internet in the room was very slow and we couldn’t put youtube or kind of and 1 lamp was not working. I informed reception before we left but we came back everything was the same so I requested to be moved and we were upgraded immediately to the 11th floor and much better room definitely! The bfast was very nice and the staff very helpful even though they forgot my omelette, Miss Chloe was very friendly. The breakfast chef was very professional and made sure the buffet was always with food. I had a pleasant stay in the end as the swimming pool is a bonus. This hotel reminds me when I was working in hospitality years ago as everyone seems to be very busy and stressed around but they smiled you on the way.
Macdonald Crutherland House

I really wanted to leave a great review for this hotel. We stayed for an ultimate spa break to celebrate my daughter finishing her exams and leaving school. She was really looking forward to it. Our initial impressions were good, the grounds are beautiful and the reception staff were attentive and friendly. When we reached our room we were a bit disappointed as the room wasn’t to the same standard as other McDonald hotels we have stayed in and sadly that became our constant thought throughout the whole stay. The decor is very tired and the whole place could do with an overhaul. Paper peeling from walls, we had tissue paper stuck underneath the handles on the windows to keep them closed. The relaxation room of the spa was horrible as the ceiling looked mouldy and the paper was peeling off the walls. We had dinner the first night. We had looked at the menu online however it was totally different when we went into the restaurant and the choices weren’t great. We ordered cocktails and both agreed they were the worst cocktails we had ever had, they cost £9.95 each and I didn’t drink mjne at all. Breakfast the next morning was shambolic, there was 8 of us in the restaurant and the staff were running around like headless chickens saying they were so busy and tables weren’t cleaned, we waited a ridiculous length of time to order our food and it took forever to come. We had afternoon tea booked as part of the deal, again it wasn’t great. It had obviously been made well in advance of our booking time and the break on the sandwiches were hard and the cakes cheap and uninteresting. We ate out elsewhere our second evening. We both enjoyed our spa treatments which helped rescue the weekend. Breakfast on our final morning was better as it was a buffet style although we had to wait ages to ask staff for plates as there were none available to lift up (apparently the plate warmer was broken so they weren’t leaving plates out). I think that the staff of Crutherland House are doing the best they can however something has gone wrong with the running of this hotel and it needs attention . We wouldn’t recommend it to friends and next time will go somewhere else
