Sheraton Guangzhou Panyu

This was my second stay here. The location is excellent, very close to Wanda Plaza and Tianhe Plaza, making it super convenient for dining, shopping, and catching a movie. There are tons of food options nearby. Also, they weren't rushing me at checkout; they even extended my checkout time until 2 PM, which was great. I hope next time I can get a slightly better room type.

We stayed at this hotel based on a friend's recommendation. Since we were with our child and nanny, we booked a suite. During check-in, I clearly communicated three things to the front desk: 1) we needed a baby cot; 2) we needed an extra bed in the living room; and 3) we needed an additional adult breakfast. The front desk even gave me a paper to sign, confirming the extra charges for the additional bed and breakfast. I paid a 1000 pre-authorization, which would be deducted upon check-out. I was in a hurry to get to Chimelong and the front desk also mentioned that no suites were cleaned at 1 PM, so I would have to wait. I said it was fine, just to have my luggage taken up and I would return for the key after dinner. However, when I entered the room, I was stunned. The baby cot was randomly placed in the living room, the extra bed I requested was nowhere to be found, let alone any extra slippers, a towel, or a toothbrush. My luggage was also in the living room, not on the luggage rack. I immediately called the front desk and was told that they had already informed housekeeping and would handle it right away. But I waited in the room for 15 minutes and no one showed up. My baby was already crying for a nap, and the nanny couldn't rest either. So I called the front desk again in the afternoon to urge them and asked for the duty manager to come explain the situation. This time, a staff member came up within 5 minutes. She had to single-handedly move the very heavy marble table and chairs to set up the extra bed. I asked her if housekeeping had received instructions for an extra bed but didn't act on it. She said they only received the instruction for a baby cot. Shortly after, the duty manager, Kobe, arrived. I asked him what had happened, and he said there was a handover error by the front desk colleague. They saw “baby cot, extra bed, living room” written on the paper and assumed it meant to put a baby cot in the living room. I asked if they thought that was reasonable. If there's a baby cot, it means there's an infant, and it's illogical to place the bed in the living room instead of the bedroom, isn't it? He said they thought the guest had a special request... Seriously, when you encounter an unreasonable handover, shouldn't you verify it with the front desk staff who handled the check-in, or at least call the guest, rather than making assumptions and acting on your own? The entire check-in experience was terrible! Hope management can improve.

After a month of searching for a hotel near the concert venue, I finally settled on one I felt was safe and relatively close – the Sheraton. Back when I was in school, my teachers would always rave about the Sheraton's excellent and meticulous service. This time, I finally got to experience it firsthand, and it certainly lived up to its reputation; a Ferrari is still a Ferrari, even when it's old! First, let's talk about transportation. If you're going to a concert at the Olympic Sports Center, especially if you're a woman, staying at a good hotel is a safer bet. This location is very convenient; there's a subway station about a ten-minute walk away, and the area is surrounded by shopping malls. Even if you come back late, there are plenty of shops and eateries along the street, making it easy to grab food and ensuring safety! Then, upon check-in, they noticed it was my birthday and brought a birthday cake (of course, many five-star hotels offer a complimentary cake as standard practice). But the detail here is that the cake was absolutely delicious! Seriously delicious! It wasn't one of those frozen cakes they just give you! Michelin-level taste, no less! I have to commend them for that! They thoughtfully arranged a simple birthday setup for me and confirmed when I'd be back at the hotel before delivering it (I came back late that day after the Nicholas Tse concert). They even waited for me. Truly, thank you all! Finally, since I was mainly there for the concert, I didn't get up for breakfast, so I can't comment on that. Coming back late at night with a lot of takeout, there was even a lobby manager or someone similar at the elevator entrance who would help press the elevator buttons. They were incredibly friendly and polite. While cleaning the room, I had the 'do not disturb' sign on, often waking up around 4 or 5 PM. The housekeeping staff kindly slipped cards under the door a few times to show they had come to clean, but they waited until I was awake and didn't knock like other hotels. This detail deserves a perfect score. It's the standard of service a five-star hotel should provide. The night view is beautiful, but alas, I was always out watching Nicholas Tse, haha. If you're looking for photo opportunities, it's no less impressive than staying near the Canton Tower. Oh, I forgot to mention, the bathtub is crucial! After three concerts, I was soaking wet coming back. Thankfully, there was this big bathtub for a timely soak, otherwise, I really would have gotten sick! The water pressure was excellent too! Thumbs up!

The hotel boasts an excellent location in the heart of Nancun Wanbo, with an abundance of dining, entertainment, and shopping options nearby, including Wanda Plaza and Yuehai Plaza just a stone's throw away. The hotel's facilities, both soft and hard, are comprehensive. The executive lounge offers a prime spot with stunning panoramic views of downtown Guangzhou, including Canton Tower. The hotel service is warm and comfortable.

This has to be the best Sheraton I've ever stayed at. Usually, Sheratons feel a bit old and rundown, so I rarely book them, but this one truly excels in its decor, design, and service. Plus, its location is super convenient for Chimelong. The only downside is that the kids' club is a bit too basic. A hotel near Chimelong really needs to offer more family-friendly facilities.

The room was great, and the service was excellent.
