I stayed overnight with my wife. I could see the Tsugaru Strait from the room. It was cloudy, but I understood the wonderfulness of the location. The food was really good. The seafood was fresh and the food presentation was great. I was also happy that the mini bottle of the festival was included free of charge in the reservation plan. There was a semi-open-air bath in the large communal bath. It was nice to see the Tsugaru Strait from here. The staff at the inn, including Mr. Nakai, served the guests very politely. The stay at this inn was very comfortable. With such facilities, meals and services, I thought it was a great deal to have a total of about 80,000 yen for two people despite the Obon festival. This is a recommended inn.

This hotel is located at the Yunokawa area in Hakodate. It's reachable within 20 minutes from Hakodate bus terminal. There are three buses serving this area: 95, 95A and 96. There is also a direct bus from/to Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto station with a fee of ¥900/person/way. We booked a Japanese-style room with a private onsen bath facing the ocean. The view is beyond our expectation. The room is super spacious - consisting of the entrance area, sleeping area, living room, a toilet, and bath area. They are still using the actual key instead of keycards. They served some snacks, tea, free beers, bottled water and cold tea. The room we booked also provided halfboard (dinner and breakfast). The food was amazing with many varieties, including our favourites - king crabs. All was served in a buffet style so you can eat this crab as much as you want.

The tatami room we booked has a very comfortable mattress that can be placed anywhere. There is also a small living room, and the view of the sea is very comfortable. You can also take a hot spring bath in the room. The hotel staff is very warm, polite and thoughtful. Even in July, it is cool in the morning and evening

This hotel is a relatively newer hotel . There is a huge free open carpark behind the hotel. Check in was fast . Welcome drinks were served. The twin rooms are very comfortable with good temperature control and firm beds. Wifi was fast. There was a bathtub and a area to sit down and shower just like in the onsen area. Two bottles of water were provided. Dinner was good with snow crabs , sashimi like tuna , octopus , ikura etc . There was also a ramen section where you cook your own ramen . For desert , there was an assortment of cakes and ice cream . Onsens were new and relatively empty. The bathing area was adequately lit . The only drawback was that only one type of shampoo and conditioner was available . There was a long indoor onsen . Outdoor onsens had a long sort of infinity pool , another pool and two barrel tubs . The onsens were clean and new and quiet. There was also a resting area that looked out over the city at night . What would make the experience better would be perhaps popsicles could be offered for all to enjoy after the onsen. Breakfast was good . Overall a very comfortable and reasonably priced stay near an Aeon mall and fantastic soba restaurant

The hot spring this time had a good view ... The quality of the hot spring and the smell of the hot spring were good ... Also, when I went to Hakodate, I wanted to stay. From Hakodate Morning Market ... True squid live sashimi at night at Yangshu Bar (if you add geso to soy sauce, it moves and is fresh) ... Cheap and delicious, Peony Sea ** live sashimi, herring sashimi, hokke live sashimi, mambo liver mixing, raw sashimi, ... Live taraba, live hairy crab, live oysters ... ← Looking forward to the next time ... After eating ... Also ... Sky Traveler's Hot Spring ♨️ ... More than 8 times on this trip ... I tasted the hot springs ... It was the best ... ...I wish I had ice cream for breakfast...laughs

First of all, the location is perfect. 3 minutes walk from Hakodate Station. There is a Max Value nearby and a tram station passes right in front of you.
The overall disadvantage is that it is old, but we are putting a lot of effort into overcoming it.
Representatively, there is a modern, remodeled lounge on the first floor. The lounge design itself is nice, and the drink bar, which provides free coffee, tea, and water, is open until 10 p.m.
Another advantage is the breakfast, which is expensive at 2,000 yen (300 yen less if you book in advance the day before), but you can make your own kaisendon and eat it, and best of all, you can enjoy the view of Hakodate Bay from the top floor of the hotel.
The view is well worth it.
Also, there is a bar on the top floor where breakfast was served from 10 PM to 1 PM, and it boasts a reasonable price of 1,100 yen for a cocktail and a light snack.
It's run by an old bartender. If the advantage of the breakfast restaurant was the daytime view, the advantage of this place is that you can enjoy the view at night.
The downside is that currently, for environmental protection reasons, room cleaning is not provided and only water and towels are exchanged, but since I didn't stay in Hakodate for a long time, it didn't matter.
There are things to like and dislike, but for me it was the best hotel.

One of the favourites hotel stay in Hokkaido for our family! The hotel is small but very neat and clean. We are a family of 5 and we loved the layout and the modern design of the room. The staff were very friendly. We managed to choose one of the shops at the seafood market for our breakfast. We will definitely recommend this hotel to our friends.

I used it for the first time. A luxury hotel, breakfast is a special mention! We chose Japanese food in Azeria for the first night 1 and Matsumae for the second night. At the buffet, there was a heap of salmon roe that I had never seen before, and I was able to make a super gorgeous seafood bowl, which was really amazing. 2 Matsumae on the night was also a very nice set, and I chose the salmon roe set, but this is also super satisfying. My friend was Hitsumabushi set, which looked very delicious! The room was large and well maintained, and it was good because it had a long-established style plus modern functionality.

GGuest User I used JR INN for the first time. JR Tower Hotel Nikko Sapporo has used it. I stayed at a railway hotel for railway fans, but I was impressed this time. From the single room I stayed in, you can see all the vehicles coming in from the top of Hakodate Station platform. If you thought you could see Twilight Express and Hokuto Star in the time of running on the bed, Cassiopeia came in. In addition, the timetable is posted on the top floor bath, and the train is seen while bathing. There are many books related to the railway in the rest place, and you can know the history of the railway in Hokkaido. At the entrance of the hotel, there is a head mark such as Hokuto star, and the track is drawn on the floor, and it is a hotel that is not able to be caught in the railway mania from the moment when it enters. It is conveniently located in front of the station or in the station, and from the opposite room, Hakodate mountain can be seen, and I thought it was a good hotel other than railway fans.
GGuest UserWhat an amazing hotel HakoBA Hakodate is. It is located in the old Fuji Bank building which gives it a unique character. They have done an amazing job updating the interior making it look modern yet still letting the character of the building shine through, awesome! Staff at reception were super friendly and helped us with lots of recommendations, like food and drink, and helped us with the public transport 1-day pass which you can buy here. There's also a cool little shop in the reception area selling local gifts. The room was really nice and we were lucky they gave us a room on the top floor which meant the room had really high ceilings and amazing details on the ceiling. Bathroom was pretty large, very modern and clean. Location wise this hotel is perfect. It is a 20 minute walk from the station but well connected to other public transport like buses and the city tram system. Located in the middle of the redbrick warehouse area of Hakodate there's plenty of shopping and restaurants around. Ideal for exploring this amazing city. Highly recommend staying here!
GGuest UserWe stayed at Century Marina for our first night in Hokkaido and originally chose it for its proximity to most of the sites we wanted to see in Hakodate. It's just a few minute walk from the train station with plenty of sidewalks so pulling our suitcases was no issue. The hotel also has a large parking lot if you choose to drive. It's also just a few minute walk from the warehouse district and the older area up the hill where a lot of historical embassies and churches are. The hotel's breakfast buffet is an experience itself with an extensive spread of both Japanese and Western food options. You will reserve a time slot when checking in, but even then you should expect a 10-20 minute wait in the morning to get your table, so its best to go up before your reserved time. This hotel also has one of the best rooftop onsen I've seen, with wonderful views of the whole marina and hill. When booking I didn't realize there was a hot springs so this was a nice surprise. Our room was right next to the elevator but very quiet and clean. This is a newer hotel too so everything felt very fresh and well-maintained. We checked in using Japanese, but the hotel has check-in info packets and signs in English so this is a good option for non-Japanese speaking guests as well.
WWendy KonHotel located at the transportation hub where Jr train and bus station and tram line was just across the road. Good size of room and bathroom for Japanese standard. I enjoyed the sunset with good view. Public bath was clean and good. Breakfast has good varieties. Only feedback is internet is slightly slow.Overall I enjoyed my stay.
OonlywinxThe location was excellent - 3mins walk from the station, right next to the morning market and a Lawson. Washer/dryer in the room was a huge plus, though the pre-set drying was not enough. The onsen was relatively small but the infinity onsen made up for it.
GGuest UserIt has been almost 3 years that we have not visited Japan. Once Japan opened tourism, we packed our bags. We decided this trip will be a trip to enjoy some onsen (hot springs bath) and to see some fall foliage in colors. We picked Hakodate for onsen. This hotel offers in room open air bath tub on the balcony with a 180 degree ocean view!! Our activities were focused on taking onsen and having great food at the hotel buffet restaurant. After a great onsen bath, we wore the clothing they provided to us to the restaurant, very layback and relaxing!! There were many families, old and very young at the hotel over the weekend. So we think families take short vacations here. Strongly recommend to add Hakodate and this hotel to be part of your tour in Japan !
GGuest UserToyoko Inn has two branches around Hakodate Station, ”Hokkaido Hakodate Station Front Gate” and ”Hokkaido Hakodate Station Front Chaoshi”, of which ”Hokkaido Hakodate Station Front Chaoshi” is close to Hakodate Station, about two minutes walk. ”Hokkaido Hakodate Station Front Gate” is about a five-minute walk, in fact, it is quite close to Hakodate Station, it is a convenient and affordable choice for accommodation.
YYLN TI had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was clean and offered a stunning sea view. Guests have free access to the hot spring facility, which was a delightful experience. The breakfast buffet was reasonably priced and offered a variety of delicious options. Additionally, the hotel is conveniently located near the morning market, making it easy to explore local offerings. Highly recommended!
