I stayed with two friends at this property from September 24-26. We had one of the executive suites, two bedrooms plus living room and kitchenette, truly the size of spacious NYC apartment. The room was spotlessly clean and beds very comfortable. The staff was very accommodating and the hot breakfast was very good and ample. The lobby is inviting and has a separate sitting room and coffee was available 23/7. Some small things hey would have moved my review up from 4 to 5: 1. The dining table—Our room had a scratched up surface although clean. Poor optics for an otherwise very nicely furnished suite. 2. I miss the daily housekeeping dearly. Your Holiday In Express-/Phoenix/Tempe University has daily housekeeping. You need to bring this back. I understand that many hotels are struggling to hire enough help though. 3. Most annoying practice to change—Covid protocols in use of pool and fitness room. Guest cannot gonn B in and use at will. You have to go to the front desk and wait for the one front desk person on duty yo come and unlock the door. They said it was to limit number of guests. Fitness rooms and pools are typically not overused. Just put a sign up with the maximum number of guests allowed, that’s what other hotels do. 4. We repeatedly had to have our key cards reinitialized as they lost their code. Did not happen at our next Holiday Inn Express property. Nonetheless, it’s a very good property. friendly staff, nice and spacious rooms and good breakfasts. I recommend a stay here.

We just got home from our mini vacation and we stayed at this hotel. I am a fanatic about reading reviews before choosing a place to stay and I read all the reviews on this hotel before scheduling. Since most people only care about the 'cons' of the hotel, let me start with those: 1. The beds are really soft. This may not be a problem for many folks, it is only a con for me because I prefer a hard/firm bed because I am a large lady and soft beds tend to sink with me which makes waking up with a sore back highly likely. 2. Two of the three nights we stayed here, there were many, MANY teens there and they were not polite about anything. They were running in the halls at all hours, and one tried to get in our door at about 2:30 A. My sister heard him say (while in the elevator with him and his friends) that he had forgotten which room they were in so he was trying the door handle on every room on the floor in hopes of this roommates letting him in. I will say this, though...this was not the hotel's fault. This was the parents' or guardians' fault. When we did call the front desk about it, they immediately addressed it and the rest of that evening went exceptionally well and all was quiet and peaceful. 3. When we arrived and they saw that we had our dogs with us (two Shih Tzu's), they said they had no idea we were brining our dogs. However, when I made my reservation with Francis (called the hotel direct and did not use a booking agent or Trivago, Expedia, etc.) I told him about the dogs and asked him twice before I got off the phone with him did he have down that I had dogs. He said yes. We knew Hamilton hotels allow pets, so we weren't worried that they'd turn us away, but it was a surprise when they said they didn't know we were bringing them. Now, for the pros: 1. Rooms were clean and nice. 2. The front desk recommended a wonderful Italian restaurant for dinner that we ended up ordering from every night we were there because they had great prices, great food and generous portions. Thank you to Marco and Julia!! 3. Great parking - plenty of parking for both their rewards club members and handicapped spaces. 4. Lots of room to enjoy the breakfast bar and a good variety/selection of food for breakfast. 5. Super friendly front desk folks - but this seems to be standard with Hamilton hotels - we have never run into anyone at any of their hotels that has been less than extremely accommodating and friendly. 6. Lobby and elevators were also clean and nice. 7. Some people would say that the furniture in the rooms was dated, and it may have been, but I don't feel that this is a reason to 'ding' them. 8. I asked for a room close to the elevator and handicap accessible due to having bad knees and asthma. I didn't get either, but in fairness to them, it showed on the site that there were no handicap rooms available. I asked them if they should have one come available before we got there, to please see if we could get it. So again, this is not a 'ding' o

Staff was polite, When I entered the door at the ”A” entrance the first thing I noticed was the steel door had been bent so much that at the bottom of the door I could stick my thumb thru and a piece of window insulation to keep the wind out. I thought that they must still be remodeling. The hallway had what looked like new carpeting and I thought this may be ok. I entered the room and the original wood base of the door was still there and I thought that was quaint. I enter the room, set down my luggage and go to the refrigerator that has a microwave on top of it. I am now starting to feel like I am in a dormitory. The refrigerator is not working so I try to adjust the temperature setting. I then find that it is not plugged in. The microwave is plugged directly into the ONE outlet on that side of the room. There is an extension cord plugged in as well. There are 3 outlets and 4 plugs. You must choose what you wanted plugged in. The TV, Refrigerator, Coffee pot, or the light over the chair in the corner of the room. So I had to get on the floor and plug in the TV and the refrigerator. Then I used the bathroom. The floor and wall tile were all new, the sink was new, not sure about the toilet. The toilet lid did NOT fit the toilet. The lid would slide to one side or the other while you sat on it. The tub was old, and the water would not go down. I did call maintenance and they only fixed the draining problem. The tub spot was pointed toward the side of the tub and not straight down. The floor was not tiled flat so the sink wobbled, as it had broken away from being glued to the back splash. The contractor has used a power saw to cut the door trim to fit the floor tile, which cracked the wood and left a gap between the floor and the trim. The bathroom door closed but would not latch which prevented you from locking it. I was looking for an outlet by the bed as I use a heating pad for a bad back, and found the phone wall outlet on the floor behind the bed not attached to anything. The last straw to one of the worst remodeling jobs ever was a heat control on the wall. The maintenance guy told me that either the battery was dead, someone broke it, or it was never hooked up and to use the controls on the wall heater.
