This was the most charming accommodation throughout our tour of Vietnam. It was by the road but hidden behind its wall of greenery. Once inside, we were greeted by a spacious courtyard and garden filled with trees, plants, and beautiful rustic furnishings. The privacy it offered was definitely more desirable than other accommodations where their courtyards were open to full public view. In the night, the garden and courtyard were warmly lit and gave a very cozy feel.
Our room was clean and faced the mountains, and it had a balcony with a table and chairs for guests to sip coffee and soak in the view and fresh air.
We reached early and was given an early check-in as the room was available. Mr Xuan (the boss) and Ms Ha spoke very good English so communication was easy.
The location of the villla couldn't be better. To one direction was the nature where we spent the most enjoyable time cycling through, and to the other was a 5-minute walk to town center for numerous shops and restaurants.
The location was convenient, and so were the arrangements that Xuan and Ha made for us. They arranged the day tour to the places of interest that were further away, and also arranged our transport to our next destination. Very much a one-stop shop, very easy and smooth for us. Would definitely recommend friends to stay here

Charming little hotel well located, a few minutes walk from the pier for boat trips. Bars and restaurants nearby. The materials used (wood) give an authentic look to the hotel. Our room had a very nice view. No buffet for breakfast but table service with several choices. Very good.
Possibility to rent bikes 🚲 and mopeds.

The experience was very bad. When I arrived at the hotel, all lights were on except his house. There was only an old man guarding the door. He could not speak Chinese or English, and he could not understand the order. I made several international calls before I saw the boss lady. The environment is very remote. Considering the safety issue, I did not stay. No matter how I communicated with the boss lady, she insisted on not refunding. The rooms were not fully occupied, and every new customer was counted. We had a wonderful stay at Little Tam Coc. Don’t judge this place by the room rate. We felt it was worth more than what we paid. We were treated like family. The rooms were spacious and the bedding was clean and warm. Check in was quick and easy. We were asked what we wanted to eat for breakfast, Vietnamese or Western breakfast. We chose Vietnamese and they were made and served fresh. They were delicious!! They offer bicycles and motorbikes to drive into and around town. The property is located 5 minutes walk from the touristy food and market scene. Far enough to get some peace if you need it but close enough to where all the action is. It is a family run business run by the SWEETEST people. I’ve read some critiques about the old-fashion locks on the doors of the rooms, but personally we felt that they added charm to the place. It may be challenging for some to accept but it reflects the culture and safety of the area. We were a family of 5 and had been to Tam Coc a few years previous. We did not stay here but wished we did. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area of Ninh Binh. We will definitely return to Little Tam Coc when we have a chance.

We stayed for 4 nights and loved everything about this place. The views from our room (king size with mountain view) was excellent. The host is so welcoming and makes you feel right at home. They have bikes for free use, highly recommend a morning bike ride to the Bich Dong pagoda - go early to avoid the crowds. About a 10 min walk into town for some great restaurants.

Our stay was very comfortable. The room provided all necessities such as shampoo, soap, fresh linen, towels, and AC. The floor was very clean. We had a great view of the mountain. Did not have any issues with mosquitoes, but probably mostly to do with the time of year (mid October). The location is just a 10min walk from boat rides and other restaurants. We didn’t rent any bikes but rather hired Grabs to get around. The staff were very friendly as well. Recommended for couples and families!
