I stayed here one night as I had heard about Montacute and so wanted to check it out. It’s a beautiful building in a quiet location. It’s a backpackers for an older set of customer, or for people willing to pay a little extra than a YHA. A hostel environment with shared kitchen and bathrooms. I paid for a twin for myself - $110 for the night. My younger self would’ve loved it without question, but my older self was a bit tired from my day and so the loud chatter in the corridors late into the evening was a bit tedious. Earplugs helped and anyway after 12am things settled and I could sleep soundly in my comfy bed. Very close to nice coffee shops snd Salamanca.

Had a recent stay for 3 nights and found it really enjoyable. After a little confusion with parking the car due to street it is located on being a bus thoroughfare, valet parking was prompt and we found we didn't need to get car out again. Great location in the centre of town and easy walking to everything Hobart has to offer. Rooms were very clean, although a little small, bathroom was a generous size although water did flood floor when showering. Did have to order another pillow as ones in room were rock hard. Breakfast was very yummy and buffet option that was offered had more than enough to satisfy. Gym was small with just enough equipment to do a workout. The Chocolate Hour was a bit of a letdown, not what we expected, but still another point of difference. All in all, a really nice stay and we'll certainly wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

This hotel met all our needs for the 3 night trip to Hobart. I would stay here again. It's centrally located to many things in town. The staff we met were all extremely nice and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfy. Bathroom is small, but its not like its a place where we spent a lot of time so it gets the job done. My two suggestions would be to add a shelf in the bathroom where one could place their stuff and add an overhead light so you could turn on the light when you came in the room. If you're a modest traveler who doesn't need a lot of frills or ton of space but looking for a clean and cozy place to spend the night, you'll like it just fine!

We stayed on the 5th floor facing the main road, however the room was very quiet with no noise whatsoever from traffic or adjacent rooms. The staff were extra helpful. If you paid for breakfast it included both continental and hot food with a very wide selection to suit all dietary requirements. The restaurant specialises in Asian meals. The Capitan's Chicken and Potato Curry was a favorite. The rooms were clean and 100% functional as a maintenance feedback form is left in every room. The blackout curtains stopped all the light for those that like to sleep in or get over jet lag. Security was enhanced by room card access to the lifts. It was a 10 minute walk to everything, a 3 minute walk to the Skybus stop and 5 minute walk to the Hop-on-hop-off stop. Good value and recommended.

The induction cooker in the hotel room is too weak, it ’s small and it ’s small. It ’s only for one or two people. It takes a lot of time to cook a meal. Living in room 515, the clothes dryer often stops automatically. The staff checked the door of the dryer with their hands, and then operated automatically, but stopped for more than ten times a night, and then tapped the door again. After drying, the shirts and pants shrank, causing the clothes to fade and become worn. Very poor, only the location is convenient, do not take this price, the Internet is very flat, the name is too real, do not consider staying next time.

Basic room but very clean and well appointed. Very close proximity to all amenities of the cbd, uber eats was able to find us quickly and without hassle, also the establishment is very quiet of a night. The bed was comfortable and there was free Wi-Fi, for $85 a night, so close to everything and presented in this manner, I would happily recommend to anyone I know and will be staying again when we are down again. The only recommendation I have for the owners/managers is the shower cubicle itself is very small and I'm a tall guy and big build too, so moving around to shower was a bit hard but otherwise that's it. I stayed here briefly (plumbing problem at home) so cannot comment on sleep quality. I had room 23, which was tiny (it was advertised as small) and had a double bed. Bed linen was clean and appeared to be good quality. Towels on the bed were folded in a most bizarre way, and they appeared to have been thrown down and crumpled, but were meant to actually look like that (reminded me of a sea creature.) The room was clean, as was the bathroom, with the exception of the entire floor of the shower bay, which was a yellow/tan colour. Maybe it was clean, but if it was, then it was obviously stained and really needs replacing. It was extremely off putting. Walls are thin and I heard the person in the next room showering. The male at Reception was quite dour. I did not have to stay the night as my water problem was rectified so I went home. Good value, but I would not stay here again. The room smelt of cigarette smoke, even though the property is non smoking.

I am very disappointed as I thought I booked a room in Wrest Point but instead it was in adjacent property called Motor Inn. I felt that I have been cheated as the picture in the booking details showed me Wrest point Towel and not Motor Inn. I thought the room was called Motor Inn as I have not been there to know the existence of Motor Inn. When I queried about it, they said it was the agent's (trip.com) fault . To move to the main tower will cost me an extra of $80. I felt I have been conned and they should have placed the Motor Inn building photo instead of the tower of Wrest Point in their website for booking. (It is deceptive marketing - show you a ferrari for sale and got a lemon after you have paid for it) Motor Inn is an old building and does not have lifts to the room we were allocated and being retirees , we have to carry our bags up to 2 flights of stairs. On top of that, the room walls were not sound proof and you can hear every customer slamming their doors and flushing their toilets. I thought we have booked the room with the sea view instead there were only bushes as a window view. It was so embarrassing when I thought I could request for a room on a higher floor in wrest tower for good views but instead shown out of the door to an old adjacent building call Motor Inn. In all its websites and advertising, there is not 1 photo to show Motor Inn as Wrest Point . It has always being the tower used to promote the sale of their rooms. The Bistro food is poor quality and costly. We order from the caviary and the food came out to be cold and dry. We wanted to try the other 2 restaurants Kwan Ho and the one on the 17 th floor in the main tower but were told they were close. I thought being a top notch hotel, their restaurant will be open 7 days instead they are closed 2 days.( sun and mon). - the days we were there sat,sun,mon) They have a fantastic location but sad to say they don't have the marks of a 5 star hotel. Fabulous room. Large and comfortable with a massive bathroom. Plenty of room to have your toiletries out. Very comfortable bed and pillows. We had a corner room and would request this again on our next stay. Breakfast included in our stay was one the best buffet breakfast we have had. Staff friendly and efficient. No on-site parking but valet parking available. Excellent stay.
