Great location and nice view from our king room with river view. Bed was comfy and room was very clean. Desk personnel were exceptionally helpful and friendly. I can't comment on the value, as it was part of a package tour as prices were not broken out of total, but we would definitely stay there again. We had prepaid for breakfast, which was excellent, but we did not otherwise dine at the hotel restaurant, so can't comment on that.

Location is easy to find and outdoor bath. Simple kitchen with two stoves. Still very nice and clean. The refrigerator simply keeps it cold, not freezing. Full breakfast, traditional continental breakfast.

The family self-built hotel is very good. The owner's cats and dogs are very cute and loved. The small spots actively sway the stones to let me play with it, and the kittens will come to slap you. As a reminder, the hotel does not have a restaurant and food. Each room has a kitchen. You need to buy it yourself.

Absolutely amazing our stay at this hotel. After 2 rough nights in others hotels this was a cherry on the top. It was my husband and I anniversary so we decided to booked this hotel to chill and enjoy our time. Staff were nice at the lobby, hotel comes with free parking, lobby was very nice and stylish, room were spacious and super modern, free buffet style breakfast A+++ and for 30 dollars extra you could use the sauna, steam and massage facility. Hotel its in downtown selfoss so everything was nearby and it's such a cute little town. I definitely recommend this hotel worth the extra money.

The location is very good and very easy to find, opposite the gas station, supermarket and KFC, below is the 66 store, behind the house is the free parking lot. We stayed in a suite with four beds and a sofa bed, but we only lived three people, it seems a bit extravagant, hahaha. The bathroom is also very large and very comfortable to use. The kitchen facilities are also very complete, although we are not useful, but it feels good. The young girl who checked in was not experienced enough (but she was really good-looking, blond). The first time I met people who were very poor in English, so I was tired when I first started communicating. Although I understood it later, I still feel it. I suggest that the English spoken by the little girl can be simple, or take out some English tips early (we will find papers with English tips later)

Overall we loved our stay at Grimsborgir, but I would like to begin by mentioning a few aspects that can be improved. When we arrived the room seemed dusty, as if not used by other guests for a long time and then not freshened up before we arrived. This improved after the first night. The cleaning staff also made a few mistakes like taking towels without replacing them and forgetting items like wiping cloths or cleaning sprays in random places - this happened on 3 out of 6 days. Also the design of the double bed was a bit minimalistic - it did not have a headboard - compared to other double beds from less expensive rooms in your hotel this is a mild disappointment. Overall we were very happy with our stay in your hotel - we had everything we needed and we would gladly stay with you again. I just have one question which I would be very grateful if you could answer me. What kind of mattress did the double bed have? We found it to be extremely pleasant to sleep on and I would like to buy one if you could tell me where from. Outstanding service in the middle of nowhere. The owner had vision to put the hotel in a unique place. Staff is attentive, courteous, helpful and respond to every request. The place is new, clean, modern, and efficient. The meals were excellent, better than expected. The lamb was delicious. Breakfasts were good as well. Plenty of choice and plenty to eat. I highly recommend it. I will go back.

We have been set in the independent apartment that can host 4 people comfortable, with a large area day and two rooms (one double and one double). Very clean and provided everything. I recommend that we come with the expenses already made because it is very isolated. To reach it, a deviation from the main road is expected, and we chose it because the morning after we had planned the excursion to Landmannalaugar, because it is along road 30 and therefore strategic position to reach the area.

Dit is een hele leuke plek! Ik en mijn vriend waren blij verrast over hoe het terrein er uit zag. We werden heel hartelijk ontvangen. De kamer was ook heel mooi, er lag een roos op het bed en de inrichting was leuk gedaan. Wij zaten in een huisje met nog 1 single kamer er naast, maar er was niemand in die kamer toen wij er sliepen. Het sanitair is heel schoon. Er is ruimte om te koken. Wij vonden het heel jammer dat we hier maar 1 nacht verbleven. Een aanrader!

A very comfortable hotel with exceptional food. It was great to see a kids menu that didn’t include fish with chips and burgers with fries. My son loved his meat balls. My dinner was the best I have eaten in an hotel or restaurant in Iceland over the last five days. I really do mean good !!! The staff are so friendly and helpful. We have stayed in a wide variety of hotels across south Iceland at different price ranges from low to high and this was the best … it’s clean and comfortable, staff are kind and lovely, the hotel is well maintained and the food is great. It doesn’t have the perception of luxury of some of the larger hotels and the rooms are rustic - however the hotel is wonderful for its simplicity and charm with high quality of food. I couldn’t recommend it more highly.
