"Very Disappointing Stay – Not the 4-Star Holiday We Booked We recently stayed at Corfu Akron Seascapes Resort and unfortunately our experience was nothing like the holiday that was advertised. We booked this hotel because of the facilities and four-star rating, but several advertised features were either unavailable or very different from what we expected. There was no children’s buffet, no playground, and we were informed shortly before travelling that the à la carte restaurant would not be available. One of our biggest concerns was that people who were not staying at the hotel appeared to have access to the pool area, toilets, showers and sunbeds. As paying guests, this meant it was difficult to find sunbeds, and we never felt comfortable leaving our belongings unattended. As for parents, with children this also made us feel uneasy about children’s safety. Anyone can wonder around. Cleanliness was another major issue. The public toilets were often dirty, some locks didn’t work, and there were maintenance issues such as sinks coming away from the walls. Around the pool there were cigarette ends, rubbish and general debris. We asked for the area to be cleaned, but nothing was done, so we ended up cleaning around our own sunbeds ourselves. The management was also disappointing. We witnessed a heated argument between the daytime manager and a member of staff in front of guests, which felt very unprofessional. When we raised concerns about people using the hotel facilities without being guests, we felt our complaints were not taken seriously. The interaction left us feeling uncomfortable for the rest of our stay. The food was repetitive and below the standard we expected from a four-star all-inclusive hotel. Drinks were also disappointing, with many premium options not included. Overall, we left feeling that the hotel did not match the description we booked through our travel company. We appreciate that hotels can change over time, but we believe guests should be given an accurate description of what they are paying for. Sadly, this holiday did not provide the relaxing family break we had hoped for, and we would not choose to stay here again. Rating: ★★☆☆☆ (2/5) The location itself is lovely, but the hotel did not live up to its advertised facilities or four-star standard. We hope the management addresses these issues so future guests have a better experience."

"The staff make this hotel they are so friendly and can’t do anoth for you yes the hotel rooms are dated but clean always hot water we were at the back of the hotel the balcony is shared you have your own section not very private but the room had air con and bed comfortable the pool area was lovely and right on the beach the pool bar did lovely food can recommend the gyros and Alex is a laugh the down side is breakfast poor quality your only aloud 2 items sausage but the omelette are nice cold selection poor no fresh bread but apart from this everything was spot on entertainment during the day and the cocktail bar was lovely at the front of the hotel and it in a great location"

"Absolutely love this place. Location is perfect, near enough to the main strip but far enough away to not hear the hustle and bustle in the night. The main reason for the 5 star rating is most definitely George and Mary who are without doubt the best hosts I have ever encountered. My partner had visited before so knew them very well, I was greeted as if I had known them for a long time too which kicked the holiday off for me in a very positive way. They literally can't do enough for you which is by far better than any 5 star hotel I have ever encountered. The apartments are cleaned daily and have everything you need for a comfortable stay, all apartments overlook the pool and come with their own balcony too. Loved the place so much we've already booked for another stay in September."

"Villa del Sol is a blissful, spotlessly clean, and genuinely peaceful home from home. Perfect for solo travellers, couples, small groups, and older families who appreciate calm, thoughtful spaces with real zen energy. Maria and Yiannis have poured their hearts into this place, and it shows - everywhere you look there are artful touches and considered details. The welcome was warm and generous, the beer is served ice cold (very appreciated during a heatwave), and the Greek white wine they serve is so fresh and crisp I'm already plotting how to import it back home. I will say this: I suspect some negative reviews blame the owners for things entirely outside their control - mosquitos, heat, power cuts. These are realities of a hot country during a heatwave, not a reflection of the hosts' care or effort. A little compassion goes a long way. A few tips if you visit: Getting around - hire a moped or car to explore beyond Sidari. I made it to Kassiopi today - noticeably more upmarket and polished compared to Sidari's laid-back beach-bum vibe, but both worth experiencing. Gym - For an authentic local experience hit up locals hot spot Runners Gym, it's roughly a 20min walk from Villa del Sol, so go early before the day heats up (opens 9am). Weekly pass just EUR25 or EUR7 per day. Eating and shopping - Villa del Sol sits at the quieter end of Sidari, with great eateries and supermarkets within a 5–10 minute walk. Elysee is currently my favourite spot. Even the Carrefour Express is run by someone who genuinely takes pride in his store, the nectarines are extraordinary, and there's a lovely organic shop just around the corner for groceries, gifts, and vegan chocolate called Bio Armonia. Bonus - if you're lucky, Maria might pick you fresh figs from her tree. And even if not, a fruit truck passes twice daily outside the Stemma Hotel. The cherries are not to be missed."

"Just got back from Mimosa.Lovely stay.Basic but clean,towels changed everyday.Plenty of choice at breakfast,continental and English New faster toaster at end of our stay,much better.Pools very clean,great pool bar,excellent position for beach and night entertainment.Lovely helpful staff.Would deffo stay again"
