Outstanding
LLiaPROS: Stood here for the weekend with my partner. Aesthetically, the hotel is super artsy, fun, and pleasing to the eye. The decor and appearance screams chic, quirky, and metropolitan. From the lobby, adorned with all manners of interesting books, odd trinkets, and colorful sculptures, to the cute, cozy outdoor sitting space filled with pretty greenery, I could not stop raving about this hotel the entire trip. The style of the rooms could very much be described as a European “take” on the well-known Japanese “Pod” style hotels. The rooms were concise (not cramped) and had a sleek, modern, and minimalistic style of furniture (desk with chair, bench, vanity w/sink, bed-frame with built in storage space). Think “IKEA meets stylish, retro Japanese pod hotel”. If that makes sense. LOL. Plus everything in the room is controlled using an iPad which I think it pretty flipping cool. SMART TV in the room, as well, meaning unlimited access to YouTube, Netflix, or pretty much anything that can stream from your phone/device which is perfect after a long day exploring the city. (You can also change the color of the mood lighting in the room via the IPad which provided my boyfriend and I with hours of entertainment pretending we were post apocalyptic humans trapped in some green-tinted “Twilight Zone” style alien bunker) Also, if you prefer a hard mattress, you will find the hotel bed very comfortable. During our time here, we had easy access to a LOT of good food. There’s 2 restaurants inside the hotel as well as a really great Middle Eastern restaurant directly across the street. (I approve of their falafel and roasted sweet potatoes. Very good). There are so many cultural and ethnic restaurants in the immediate area for those who are adventurous eaters. There’s even a pretty nice Trader Joe’s around 4 blocks away for stocking the hotel room with healthy snacks and beverages (a must). Plus Union Market is pretty close to the hotel. I wouldn’t miss it if I were you. Big hall with lots of food vendors and even a little shopping. Even if you aren’t looking to eat and just want to kill a little time, it’s still interesting to walk around and see the cool and unique foods they sell. Soak up the little local color. Overall, it was a totally unique and memorable hotel experience that was totally worth the cost. Well done. LF

GGuest UserThis place was amazing for us. The biggest draw was the two bedroom suites (with two bathrooms), which are super hard to find and make it great for families with small kids. The pool and hot tub helped too, but what we didn't know was that they would try so hard to be a great family friendly destination. They had a Family Movie Night, such a hit with my kids with popcorn, candy, and soda. Also, they did a BBQ on the patio, which was also so nice. The staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly and always had a nice and pleasant word. They even gave the kids a toy from the treasure chest at our departure. They were so stoked. Also, its a great location for visiting DC, we did the Spy Museum, the American Indian Museum and the Botanical Garden, all within walking distance. We also drove to the zoo. Its an easy spot for cabs to pick you up. There aren't a TON of food options super close by but you can walk 15 minutes to the Wharf for great food and music options. It was just perfect for what we needed. Louise at the front desk helped us split our checks, and the gentleman who made all the activities happen was great as well. We appreciate you. And everyone was super helpful, from extending checkout to whatever we needed. Also the buffet had everything you could ask for, even a waffle machine with all the fixings, which was obviously also a big hit with the kids! We will definitely be back.

GGuest UserThe first room had a very noisy fan. I was moved to another room which was much quieter. I noticed that there were several small issues with the room and relayed them to the front desk, where a manager (Keith) overheard me and said he would look into it. Nothing happened to correct it during the entire stay, not a note to say how or if it would be corrected. The issue was a ring of paint or epoxy in the bathtub, something that should have been cleaned up at the time of painting. The second issue was the very poor arrangement of lighting in the room. Lamps were confined to small areas, there was no overhead light and the bathroom was either overlit or underlit, while the closet area was dark unless it was daylight. Afterwards I noticed that there large holes in the sheer curtains in the room. Not tragic, but not in keeping with the tenor and tone of a Marriott Bonvoy. In the lobby there was only an ADA service elevator to go from the street to the lobby level. It was self operated, no instructions, no indication lights on either level and a bit noisy.

JJunesdaughterWe chose the Hilton because of its location at DuPont Circle and proximity to the metro. It was perfect. Very clean and excellent service. We had a corner room with large windows and a nice view. We weren’t able to check in early and still have our chosen room but we left our luggage with the bell captain, parked and went off to explore on foot for awhile, taking the advice from a helpful front desk clerk for a nice place for lunch close by. Everything was close by. It worked out perfectly. The price of the hotel was excellent too which offset the cost of parking ($56/day) in the garage below where the car stayed for the whole trip. It was very easy to park and get back inside. The restaurants looked lovely but we didn’t eat there. There were just too many local choices and we were out walking most of the day. The bell captain was helpful in getting us a cab one cold evening when my Uber app was be working well. He went outside in the cold until he was able to hail one for us (comparable in price to the Uber we would’ve taken) Lovely stay. Highly recommend.

AAnnagel OlgaThe location is chic, 5 minutes walk to the white house. But the room itself was not clean, the toilet was dirty, they found paper on the bedside table from adhesive plaster for legs of previous customers. After leaving, they withheld from me $ 5!!!

GGuest UserI traveled to DC with my preteen and teenage sons for a basketball game. The property didn’t receive my reservation (booked through 3rd party) but the front desk staff took the time to make it right and get us set up. They had excellent customer service throughout our stay. This hotel was VERY clean. I was actually surprised because I use to stay here frequently about 10 years ago and expected some things to run down a bit. It turns out that the hotel is very modernized and looks just as good now as it did a decade ago. The location is perfect as it’s right in the middle of the NoMa neighborhood and it is right next to the NoMa/Gaulludet (Red Line) Metro station. There are a few small shops across the street and a 7 Eleven next door if you are looking for a quick bite. The room itself was comfortable. My youngest son and I slept soundly on the queen sized bed and my oldest slept on the couch. He was pretty comfortable without even folding the couch down. Overall, I will definitely book here again as I frequently visit DC. Fo how inexpensive this hotel is, the quality was phenomenal. I can’t wait to go back.

GGuest Userwe arrived around 10am and were fortunate enough to be allowed early check-in. desk guy was nice, and was able to speak english. we needed the rest after a grueling red-eye. i was unaware of how far out the place was from most of what we were there to see. this resulted in spending enough money on Lyft to afford a ”swankier” place further into the city. my bad. after a brief rest, we met some family and walked around alot. the new target down the block closes at 9, so when we got back to the room around 930pm, we were unable to get supplies for the room, & had to stop at a gas station to get a few things. this is NOT a neighborhood to go walking at night. we were approached a few times, but never threatened, still didnt feel comfortable on the street. the room itself was reasonably clean, & there were no bugs that i could see. beds were firm, and there were mostly feather pillows. 3 per bed. there were multiple ”dings” in the place...beginning with the corners, the walls, and at least 2 pretty serious marks on the tub that had broken the enamel off. a fair bit of the caulking was pulled loose from both the tub and the wall. i was dissapointed to see the back of the dressing vanity was raw plywood. didnt expect that. there was a decent armoire for hanging clothes, with storage cubbies on the side. to the left of that was a reasobly large dresser with enough drawer space to handle what we had brought. immediately above the dresser was a huge flatscreen tv that, while impressive, was far to big for the space. after a bit, we figured out the remote. left of the dresser/tv was a desk & chair. under the right side of which was a 3-legged refrigerator with platic top that kept coming off. above that there was a microwave that proved useful, on top of which was a single cup coffee maker that worked nicely for tea. the furniture overall, seemed repurposed from another motel. most of it didnt match, and looked pretty used. the floor was reasonably clean
