Very good, modern hotel, in a fantastic location in the city. This hotel is less than 5 minutes walk from the local Metro station and less than 10 minutes walk to Plaza de España and the beginning of Grand Via. To reach the very Centre of the city (Sol) it's only 20 minutes by foot or you can use the Metro with only one change. We paid direct to the reception for breakfast on one of our 3 mornings and it was well worth the money. A good range of tasty food and drink on offer. The bed was very comfy. The WiFi worked very well. Air con was excellent. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We will return to this hotel.

I stayed at this hotel again because I was too familiar with the surrounding environment. There are restaurants with Carrefour and Chinese supermarkets. The subway is close to the subway. The facilities are old. Like other European old hotels, the service and sanitation are no problem.

I recently stayed at One Shot 22 to celebrate my Birthday and my Daughter's Graduation. I rented two premium rooms. The photos of the rooms depicted a wrap around balcony. Upon arrival the A/C did not work. When I attempted to call the front desk no one picked up the phone. After a few failed attempts on trying to reach someone by phone I proceeded to go down to the lobby. The explained to the receptionist that the AC was not working and I attempted to call but no one had answered the phone. The receptionist stated that she heard the phone but was helping someone else so she could not pick up the phone. I was ok with that response. She then advised me that she was would turn on the AC from a master control station at the desk. I expressed my concern that I would not be able to adjust the AC directly from the room. The receptionist then stated to call the front desk if I want the AC adjusted. I believe this was unacceptable. I was exhausted from travelling that day and went to bed hoping I would not have an issue with the AC. The next day I went down to the front desk to express my dissatisfaction with the two premium rooms not having the wrap around balcony depicted in the room pictures. The receptionist argued that there were no such pictures in the room description. I should her copies of my reservations and asked her to go on their website to verify the pictures. Upon the receptionist viewing the images she apologized and stated there was only one room in the hotel with a wrap around balcony. The only reason I booked two premium rooms in this hotel was to be able to sit out on the balcony and relax after a long a day. I asked to speak to a manger. The receptionist stated there was no manger on site but provided with a phone number to the manager. I called and left a message. I went out for the day upon arrive the AC was not working again for the second time. I had to go back down to the lobby for the receptionist to activate the AC. Again, I requested to speak to manager. The receptionist reached out to the manager and left the manager a message to contact me. When the manager contacted me I expressed to her that the ONLY reason I booked the hotel was for the balcony overlooking a small park. Again I was advised they only had one premium room with a wrap around balcony. I alerted the manager that One Shot was misrepresenting the premium rooms by displaying photos of a wrap around balcony. The manager apologized for the inconvenience and stated that she would advise the marketing department of the images displayed. I asked for a discount because I felt I was paying a premium price but not receiving what One Shot portrayed in their Premium room images. I must be honest, the bed and pillows were VERY comfortable. The bathroom was showing it's age with the wallpaper peeling. My wife had a difficult time putting on her make up with the poor lighting over the vanity. The location of the hotel is very central and well located, good cleanliness and good price quality. Before entering the hotel, Marisa, from the hotel staff, assisted us by phone wonderfully and explained to us how to check in online, since in this hotel it is done that way (something that Trip.com should explain and is not indicated) .

Good place to stay for short trips to Madrid, we will probably book again at the property in the future, perhaps with breakfast and late check out for a change. We loved the enviroment and atmosphere. Beds where confy, but if you have big luggage it may be an issue Lockers available as well.

The location of the hotel is very good, and there are a lot of open-air restaurants and shopping places. But the hotel has a certain room type that can accommodate three people. Whether the couple carries a child or the parents carries two children, the front desk strictly implements the rules for two people. You need to add money to another room type with a sofa bed to accommodate three people. This information hotel did not provide at all when booking with Ctrip.

I stayed here for one night only on a Bed & Breakfast basis. I chose this hotel because it's on the same Metro line 7 for direct access to the Wanda Metropolitano stadium the home of Athletico Madrid Football Club. The nearest Metro Station - Canal - Line 7 - is a 5-7 minute walk away. I was in Madrid to watch football. I had a single room which was extremely small but it had every facility I needed, plus it had water and tea/coffee in the room. The breakfast was nice with plenty of choice on offer. Near the hotel, I found a real local bar where I enjoyed a few beers after the game. The following day, I was travelling to Barcelona by train from Atocha Station. From Canal Metro Station take Line 2, Direction Los Rosas and change at Sol to Line 1, Direction Valdecarros, and get off at Atocha Station.

For the price paid it's just fine. Hostel located in the center of Madrid, excellent location. Small room and ensuite bathroom. Almost no cleanliness and a hole in the wall that let the cold in from outside. Fortunately, the climate was mild otherwise it was freezing considering that the radiators were not working. Hosts speak only Spanish but helpful.

We stayed here for a weekend break, smooth check-in and staff were Brilliant and helpful,hotel was spotless, the rooms were spacious and comfortable and spoilt with the view of Madrid,view bar was fabulous,wifi was brilliant and breakfast was wow especially the omelettes, will be definitely be returning, thanks Riu Plaza for a brilliant break

This was our first stay at the Principe Pio Hotel, we booked a room with a Palace view. On arrival we were upgraded to a top floor suite by very friendly staff on reception. The room was delightful and looked like it had recently been decorated. We had terrific views of the Palace. The room was kept in tip top shape on a daily basis and nothing too much trouble for the staff. One minor gripe was the mattress was a little firm for our tastes. Our first night was inadvertently spent with the windows ajar and it could be noisy as it’s on a main road combined with the peacocks calling from the palace garden. From then on with the windows closed it was absolutely fine, the aircon worked very well and was whisper quiet. Although this is classed as a 3* hotel we had a safe, fridge and tea making facilities to make our stay really comfortable. There is a roof terrace with plenty of seating to enjoy the sunshine too.
