Pilgrim Sands on Long Beach

Pilgrim Sands on Long Beach

Plymouth|4.34km from city center
Let me start off by saying that this particular hotel holds a special place in my heart as I stayed here several times as a child. It WAS always extremely well kept, the staff WAS kind, it WAS tastefully decorated and WAS a peaceful family-oriented place to stay. However, new ownership is making all the wrong decisions to keep up with the old standards. For starters, they no longer have beach access, which is a huge disappointment! It would be better if they had no breakfast at all, considering they only provide bagels, bread, one type of cereal and waffle mix. The waffle mix ran out an hour before breakfast was over and they had zero interest replenishing it. Having said that, the same worker runs the desk and has no personality to be working with the public. He's not rude but looks miserable to be there and it makes your stay feel that much more uncomfortable because you can see he could care less about your presence. They seem to be losing focus on the stay, and spending more of their attention on getting outsiders in to use the bar. Perhaps they are getting by with the money made from the restaurant/bar, but they are forgetting about those that are spending the night. I will say that the women that runs the bar is very friendly, and the food was very good! But the New England Charm that the hotel used to bear, is now combined with a Miami vibe which just doesn't fit the scene. It is extremely tacky looking and has a picture of nude women on the wall that just doesn't seem appropriate for the setting considering families like ours are staying. Another distasteful display is the bright aggressive signs everywhere that read ”no food, no drinks, in pool & hot tub area. $200 Fine” I understand the reasoning behind no food and certain drinks in that area, but it seems a bit rough displayed in such a manner. Very short staffed! It seemed like the owners were the two-cleaning people, one person ran the desk and two ran the restaurant and they never left. I wondered if they lived there, I guess it shouldn't matter one way or another it's just sad how desperate everything feels. I think it would have been overlooked had they expressed gratitude for their guests, but you're lucky if you even got a smile apart from the friendly woman at the restaurant. Mind you, it breaks my heart to say anything bad about this place considering the years I spent going without a single flaw. I understand things change, but this is not for the good. The entire premises looks run down, and sadly I don't foresee this changing because of their poor customer relations and poor objectives. It's amazing what a can of paint will do. I would hate to see this place continue to go downhill; I really do wish the very best but they must get the courage to lose sight of the shore. Quite literately. they can't depend on alcohol and a pretty view to stay up float. I wish this review to be used as constructive criticism for the owners, because truly I want to continue on with the memorie

Holiday Inn Express - Plymouth, an IHG Hotel

My kids and I decided to get out of Boston for the weekend during February school vacation. We got a 2 double bed room and the beds were extremely clean and comfortable, the room was a little small but extremely clean. The service and workers were great and friendly. The pool was clean (kind of too cold) but safe and had nice warm towels available. The free breakfast the next morning was delicious, nice spread of choices. The price was amazingly affordable! Overall a great experience, will definitely be coming back for April Vacation. 😊

The surrounding environment is good, you can walk to the lake behind, there is a big supermarket opposite. There are kitchen utensils in the villa, and the boss is very friendly. This trip is too tight, you can stay for 2 days next time!
Hampton Inn & Suites Plymouth

Clean and convenient accommodations for visiting with my family. Pet friendly so I’m able to bring along my small dog. I’ve used this Hampton in the past and will return again. Reasonably priced off-season in a high-priced tourist region.
Hilton Garden Inn Plymouth

I stayed here in July for one night in July. The check in process went ok. The room on the 5th floor appeared to be very clean. It did smell of bug spray. I did not complain as I figured it was better to have a problem addressed and ”fixed” then to have a problem and ignored. The bed was comfortable, Bathroom clean. Internet good, cell phone service was difficult (I am with US Cellular). I requested 1 pm late check out as I really needed the extra time. Two desk clerks did not have the ”authority”to grant my request. I had to ask the morning manager. She cheerfully granted my request. The for charge breakfast ”buffet” was more like a continental breakfast, which in my opinion should be called that. A person can order off the menu. I ordered a Ham and cheese omelet with home fries. Very little ham and almost no cheese. Home fries looked cooked on the outside, damp on the inside. I sent it back and was not charged. I did tell the front desk about the poor meal. When I was packing my clothes that were hanging in the closet, I noticed dead roaches. When I got home I noticed two more dead roaches on my bag and in the trunk of my car. I was not happy at all. Will I stay here again ? Maybe. I did like the hotel being away from the tourist area of Plymouth next to the home depot store. As far as security, the police department is basically across the street.

Stayed for a Valentine’s wine tasting at 1620 Winery. Nicole was at the front desk and she was absolutely fantastic!! It was clear that providing her guests with the most positive experience was her top priority. I highly recommend Nicole and the Hotel 1620.

We have been staying at the Best Western Cold Spring regularly over the last few years and always find it friendly, comfortable and highly quality. We highly recommend it! We love it's close proximity to our son's home, the Plymouth waterfront and area beaches. It is a win-win for us!
