The Hive Hotel

Termini Central Station Rome|2.48km from Aventine Hill
Great location. Any major attraction can be reached within 20 minutes. Spacious room with a very comfortable mattress. Very helpful staff both at the reception and during room service. We initially had a corner room, but found it a little noisy for us. At the reception they changed it without any problems for another one. There are several good restaurants nearby. Reception's recommendations were also excellent. The hotel does not have its own parking lot, but in the same building on the base floor there is a garage (not the hotel), which can be accessed without entering the ZTL zone. Price 35 euros per day. But opposite the garage there is a paid city parking lot, where you can also leave your car. To get into the hotel from a garage or parking lot, you need to call from downstairs so that a receptionist will come and open the door to the elevator hall. We liked the breakfast. There was a bit of a lack of variety in egg dishes, but there was plenty of other stuff. I think the main disadvantage is the paid gym and spa. And if the spa is somehow explainable, then the gym is usually free for hotel guests. The price for visiting guests is 9 euros. Restaurant is fine. You get the voucher with 20% discount when check-in so the price becomes reasonable. Overall we enjoyed our time at the hotel and will return here again. Aventino Piramide
Absolutely a dream stay....wonderful family-run hotel, a short walk from the circus maximus, and 20 min walk to the coliseum, and forum. Peacefully situated up on the Aventine hill, with lovely gardens around it. The perfect spot to escape to after a busy sightseeing day. Delicious pastries and espresso in the morning, and rooms were comfortable and quiet. For the best, peaceful stay within the city of Rome but not overrun with tourists, this is what your soul needs!

Very dated but perfectly adequate. If you are looking for luxury, this isn’t for you. We were very comfortable in our double room. There were folding beds provided for the children and a very firm queen sized bed. All the linens were impeccably clean. Lots of large towels provided. Very small shower/bath, but again, perfectly adequate. The room decor is as if your old rich Italian grandfather decorated in 1940 and hasn’t updated it since. About a 15-20 minute walk to the Circus Maximus. All other sites further. Surrounding area is not particularly touristy, which is nice. Plenty of nearby restaurants, cafés, bars, gelaterias etc. Small, expensive grocery store right across the street but if you walk 8-10 minutes you can find a couple that are more affordable. Bus stop right out front and you can easily bus to any of the major sites within 15-30 minutes for €1.50 each way. Excellent breakfast included. We were particularly pleased with the gluten-free options. Our celiac child enjoyed gluten free bread and hazelnut spread with fruit, bacon and yogurt every morning. Affordable laundry service available across the street. All of the staff at the hotel are pleasant and helpful. My only major complaint- no fridges in the rooms. A mini-fridge would have greatly heightened our enjoyment of the hotel.

Trastevere
Very nice hotel , convenient location in Trastevere ! Walking distance to restaurants and bridges. I didn’t try the breakfast since one morning we had tickets to the Vatican with breakfast included. I recommend the early tickets to the Vatican with the breakfast. The staff is very friendly and nice. I would stay here again.

It looks like a newly renovated hostel. The interior facilities are really clean, and the staff are really friendly. Because it shares an entrance with another large building, you can see a large garden. For only 5 euros, you could eat as much fruit, various breads, coffee, and milk as you wanted!

On first glance of this Hotel, the reception / the chill out area really speaks for itself. But the hotel is in itself, is very small, and very, very basic. As for.the room we had (obviously cannot speak for all) in my opinion, the hotel should be liable for faulse advertising. The best rooms are shown, but what you actually get is something completely different. The Receptionist of any business is the front of house, so your personality, your warm-welcome (Hotel Ripa) really matters ie the 2 male Receptionist upon our arrival. However, one out of the two, was a lil better than the other. I was not happy with our room. The one out of the two was happy to find us something else, the other, aggressively said ”No” three times. Challenged me. He went on to say, we're fully booked, come back tomorrow. RESTAURANT: From Breakfast to evening meal. Wonderful service, good selection of food. Michele from the evening restaurant, he could not do enough for us. My 14 year old granddaughter is quite fussy and so he advised her what was best for her to eat, brought out accomdiments for her. He gave a service with a smile. Just the way it should be. Would I recommend to a friend. No way. I value mine and my friends relationship.
