Rose Garden Palace Roma by Omnia Hotels

Via Veneto Rome|1.08km from Scultura di Europa con il toro
We enjoyed a 3 night stay at Rose Palace. The front desk gave us tired travelers a warm welcome that made us relax immediately. Our room overlooked the back of the American Embassy with guards stationed outside 24/7 so it was definitely safe. The hotel is a little off the beaten path from the usual touristy spots in Rome but in a very quiet area. The room was very clean. We had 3 in our room and the 3rd person had to sleep on a full size pull out couch. It was comfy for a pull out (you couldn’t feel the bar under the mattress) but unless you put up the bed every day the only place to sit were the beds. It had a small fridge and the bathroom was updated but limited on counter space around the sink. The buffet breakfast was geared toward a variety of tastes. Scrambled eggs, a variety of pastries, orange juice, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, cheese, meat, etc. When the weather was nice we enjoyed sitting outside in the garden. There is a tiny grocery store called Co-op around the corner where you can buy the basics. Also on the next block is an ATM in the alcove of the bank entrance that seemed secure to use. Reading older reviews we thought there was a restaurant in the hotel serving dinner but it turned out to just be a small bar. So we walked a couple of blocks north and ate at Cesarina and enjoyed a good meal and friendly staff. There were a lot of other restaurants to pick from in a 2-3 block radius. The ones on Via Vittorio Veneto appeared to be more expensive than the ones northeast of the hotel. There is a taxi stand a couple of blocks away and we used both Uber and inTaxi for rides back to the hotel.

Great location. Any major attraction can be reached within 20 minutes. Spacious room with a very comfortable mattress. Very helpful staff both at the reception and during room service. We initially had a corner room, but found it a little noisy for us. At the reception they changed it without any problems for another one. There are several good restaurants nearby. Reception's recommendations were also excellent. The hotel does not have its own parking lot, but in the same building on the base floor there is a garage (not the hotel), which can be accessed without entering the ZTL zone. Price 35 euros per day. But opposite the garage there is a paid city parking lot, where you can also leave your car. To get into the hotel from a garage or parking lot, you need to call from downstairs so that a receptionist will come and open the door to the elevator hall. We liked the breakfast. There was a bit of a lack of variety in egg dishes, but there was plenty of other stuff. I think the main disadvantage is the paid gym and spa. And if the spa is somehow explainable, then the gym is usually free for hotel guests. The price for visiting guests is 9 euros. Restaurant is fine. You get the voucher with 20% discount when check-in so the price becomes reasonable. Overall we enjoyed our time at the hotel and will return here again. Positives: - Friendly and helpful staff. We booked colosseum tickets with the lady at reception. Other excursions were available to book too. - Good location. We paid €24 each for a weekly bus pass and could get to all the main attractions easily by bus. - Room was cleaned daily and we felt overall the hotel was clean. Negatives: - No air conditioning which is not ideal as the temperature varied from 30 to 36 degrees celsius while we were there. There was a fan in our room but the hotel advertises air conditioning as one of their amenities. This needs to be removed if they aren’t going to let guests use it. - No mini fridge which again would have been ideal for cold drinks in the heat. - No bin. Only a small bin in the bathroom usually used for sanitary towels etc. - I would recommend taking your own hairdryer as the one in the bathroom wasn’t very powerful and weird to hold as it was more like a vacuum cleaner. - Stingy with toilet paper. The cleaner would only leave one roll and one day didn’t even do that. I think the hotel is good value compared to other hotels in Rome if you are on a budget. But they are definitely slacking when it comes to their amenities. The main one being air conditioning especially in the height of summer. I wouldn’t have booked if I knew there would be no air con.

We stayed at the hotel a couple of weeks ago and although the it is in a good location within a nice neighbourhood the hotel was disappointing. The public areas are small and feel tired with old tatty chairs and paintwork which remains unfinished. Our room was dark and brown with a small shower which didn't work properly and a toilet which didn't flush well. The air con didn't work well and our room was hot on occasions. The breakfast offering was very poor with stale bread, canned fruit and no fruit juice, just sugary drinks, cakes and cold boiled eggs. On one day our room was not cleaned at all as the cleaners had forgotten to do it. The hotel needs a complete refurb and could be really lovely given the proper investment. The staff were the best thing about the hotel and were helpful and professional.

The write up on the hotel is NOT reflective of the accommodation. We arrived and immediately knew this was not what i would call a 3* hotel. IT IS A HOSTEL. You walk into a communal entrance hall for owner/occupier dwellings and the hotel 'reception' is located three floors up. The 'reception' is a small area with a desk within what felt like a broom cupboard. Tattered thread curtains separate you from other communal areas including a kitchenette. The reception guy was pleasant and gave us a key to what was supposed to be our room. On entry i knew i could not stay there. It felt like a room that i would have been assigned if i was a convict just released from jail and on an emergency housing project - Very Sure Shank redemption vibe. WE CHECKED IN AND STRAIGHT BACK OUT. I would pay £10 a night for this accommodation if i were a young adventurous traveller. As a 50 something working adult this is not acceptable accommodation. When we said we would not be staying the reception guy looked totally deflated as though we were the 100th couple to check in and straight back out. I felt sad for him but i would not have stayed if they had offered free accommodation.

We spent four nights in this lovely hotel, the staff are amazing, so friendly and helpful. We had a lovely room with a balcony which was fantastic to sit out on in between all our sightseeing. The hotel was super clean, and the room was cleaned to a high standard. We really enjoyed the breakfast , there was a good choice and it was a great start to the day. It was a little further away from the sights than we thought, however this would not stop us staying here again, lots of nice restaurants etc close by, we really enjoyed our stay here.

One of the worst and most disgusting hotels I have ever seen. DO NOT STAY HERE! When we arrived at the hotel, we couldn’t even get inside the front doors, we had to wait until someone left the building. Also, there was no wheelchair accessibility up the multiple steps. In addition, the hotel said they had a shuttle service but failed to tell us we would have to pay a driver cash instead of usually paying the hotel for the service like the other arrangements we had made in Spain and London. Then 3 of us and our luggage tried to squeeze in the tiny elevator up to the second floor but didn’t fit. When we finally got to the main desk, the man did not speak English and struggled to find our reservation that we made months in advance. Once he found, I say lightly, the reservation, he grabbed a key and showed us to room 15 which ALREADY HAD SOMEONE’S BELONGINGS IN IT! Not even noticing, my mother kept saying that people were already in this room. He apologized and got another set of keys and showed us room 16 which only had one bed when we made reservations for three people. He then grabbed another key and showed me to a different room, room 13. Once inside our separate rooms. We began noticing an abundance of issues (photos won’t upload on here but can be seen on Yelp). 1) the toilet seat handle broke right off. 2) there were multiple kids of BUGS flying, crawling around, and biting us! (Maybe even bed bugs i assume). 3) the toilet and the bidet were way too close together, even for someone like me that has small legs. 4) there were missing knobs on the bottom draws of the nightstands. 5) broken trash can. 6) the set into the bathroom was NOT marked properly and both my mom and dad tripped on the step sending their head almost into the bidet. 7) wall pepper was falling off everywhere 8) the batteries for the safe were missing in one room and 9) the safe was missing from the other room. Once we called our travel agent for help, she talked with the man’s son who argued that they have no problems and no bugs (clearly proven wrong by the photos and videos I took) and demanded that we at least pay for two nights even though we never unpacked and left three hours after being there because it was SO disgusting. DO NOT STAY HERE! It is unsafe and unsanitary. Don’t go through the haste of traveling all the way here to get bit by bugs, try to find another hotel, and get a refund from these people.
