Great location in the Gaslamp District. The hotel is charming as a renovation from the past, especially the balconies overlooking the courtyard and the wooden staircase up to the rooms. The room itself was adequate. Plastic drinking cups felt really low-end and the mattress wasn't as firm as I would have hoped for. But the price was better than others places in that area and the staff was very friendly. We appreciated the vouchers for drinks at the Salt and Whiskey and feasted on the bar's excellent fries.

Small thing...no counter space in bathroom so we had to put things away and take out for each use. But the room was very nice and clean. Very friendly service, everywhere in the hotel.
Also, no free parking anywhere. And it is rather expensive. But overall, the place was great.

Was not happy with the automatic $25 per day for internet and 2 drinks during my stay. For 3 days I paid $75 for two drinks and the front desk lady referred to them as complimentary drinks. No they were very expensive $37 drinks each.
My room also had other peoples hair in the bathroom (tub and bathroom floor).
Hotel is also loud and the fireplace did not work.

Old hotel that was nicely renovated, but still has a few cleaning problems. Staff seemed very attentive, though.

There is some street noise for those rooms with city view. I wish they would have had an additional lock on the door. Although the hotel felt safe, it would have been extra peace of mind when someone mixed up room numbers in the middle of the night.

Was an absolute amazing place older building complete redone lots of antique furnishings. Noticed a few exterior maintenance issues but other wise great place to stay, short walk to convention center and many shops and restaurants.
